This is the place to go in Calgary if you want quality gel/ acrylic nail designs for the same price of any other nails salon that does a mediocre/fast paced job. There are only two ladies who take care of gel/acrylic nails so it is always good to make an appointment (even if you just need one nail fixed). I've been going there for many months now and I will stay a loyal customer. I do have one tip! I work in an industry where a lot of lifting is required and my nails seem to break often so I have always asked for a thicker coat of acrylic and that always seems to work! No broken nails! Ps. Best nail salon I have been to yet. The ladies are super friendly and sweet, they have the best shellac colors and are incredibly fast and efficient! Still have yet to get a pedi here, but definitely will be in the future. This place is on the opposite side of the city from my house and I still make the journey, that tells you something. read more

I made an appointment at esnail, and yes, I would strongly suggest one! There was no parking in the lot for clients, but there is street parking on residential side streets, so be aware of that. They were very busy for a Sunday, but took my appointment in right on time! I got a shellac polish change and they had a reasonable selection of colors. It was a pretty average nail salon, the technician seemed nice, but wasn't much for small talk. As for the price, I got an accent nail (for which I was charged an extra $5) with the totally coming to $26, not including tip. The five star rating for this place seems really high... I wasn't blown away with anything here. A nice enough place if it's close to home. Not the best selection, quality, or price. My accent nail is thin on color and coverage, but overall, a nice enough look. read more

I never write reviews but the horrible business practices at ES Nails needs to be heard. Since ES Nails opened near my house a few years ago, I've always driven by and thought it was a cute little nail salon. I decided to give it a try the other day after reading great reviews. I called to book for an appointment, the lady on the phone was friendly and got me in right away. When I arrived, I was asked to wait 5 mins, which is quick compared to other places. The interior of the shop is beautiful. The manicurist starts working on my nails and made small talk. I didn't think anything of it until she and her coworkers start talking to each other about the customers who were present in the shop INCLUDING ME. Keep in mind: I am mixed - Spanish, European, and Vietnamese (although I do not look at all Vietnamese, I can speak and understand very fluently). These ladies continue on to make remarks about this customer, that customer, how annoying this customer is, why they think that customer is divorced, what ugly shoes this customer has, why that customer is so old and does not have kids, that customer's plastic surgeries. It goes on and on... ALL WHILE THEY ARE WORKING ON THE CUSTOMERS THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. I keep quiet and hope that it does not escalate so far to the point that I have to say something. What surprised me the most was that the proud owner of the shop had also joined in on this trash-talking; makes me wonder how often they do this (assuming that no one understands Vietnamese). Clearly no one ever taught manicurists manners because speaking in a different language in front of someone who is paying you for your service is downright rude. In summary, I really did have high hopes for this being my go-to nail salon since it is so close to where I live. But honestly, their mediocre nail work and pretty shop interior does NOT make up for ugly attitudes. Very horrible business practice. Please don't waste your time with this nail salon - if you are spending your hard earned money for any nail service, go anywhere else but here. read more

I stopped in to get an eyebrow wax. The wax was too hot and now I've got blisters on my eyes. I called to let them know and they said "we always keep the wax the same temperature and people react differently" ... I have been getting my eyebrows waxed since I was in high school and this has literally never happened to me. They didn't even offer me a credit. They said they would call me tomorrow. Stumbled across their IG page while looking for a new nail salon in a city with a billion places. All of the pics looked great, lots of variety and great comments. So I called to make an appointment and they were able to get me in on the same day! They are on McLeod in a strip mall by 45th, there was parking outside which was nice and a Wayne's bagels next door which is a bonus. It was clean and everyone seemed to be a regular and were called by name. Mai did my nails and she did an amazing job!!! She was super gentle with my fragile nails and made them look amazing in no time. They have every color you could want and can do any design or shape if you bring a picture in. Mai helped me come up with my design and I love it. Everyone was really friendly and the phone rang off the hook for appointments which is always a good sign. The price was definitely great too, they don't up charge for every single thing like some places. I will definitely be back. read more

Had mani/pedi at this salon today. I do not suggest going into this salon with real nails, as I did, sent them into a stupor wanting a Shellac French Manicure on my real nails. Manicure ended up being OK, but had a hard time communicating with them what I wanted. Seems like they only want to do acrylic nails. Pedi was just ok, did not receive the same treatment as the two women sitting beside me. Very rushed. The biggest issue I have is I question their sanitizing practices. Nail clippers and cuticle clippers were just pulled out of a drawer. read more

This place, for me, has been a hit or miss. The first time I came in the girl did an amazing job on my nails, but was getting really annoyed when my hands would stiffen up and she would shake and bend my fingers in a very uncomfortable way. The second time in, the girl was really nice, but I had asked for stiletto and ended up with coffin... she cut them too short and could only file them into that shape. They still looked really nice but its not what I had asked for. They are also lacking a bit on colors. They have many of the same colors and not a lot of variety. Like burgundy, they have 7 different shades of burgundy, but not a single dark green one. Color isn't a huge deal because ill always find one I like, but it wouldn't hurt to expand. For me, the selling point here is the price. Some salons are so pricey these days even just for a fill. Here they always charge me $42 even. Even last time she had to remove 2 nails and start from scratch and still only charged $42. I've been to places that charge $5 a nail when they have to remove during a fill. So all nonsense aside... I recommend them... just be specific with what you want and be open to different colors read more

I went to Esnail to take advantage of their $35 mani/pedi special. Ya I know, that is super cheap but it was terrible. I went for a 6pm appointment, they soaked my feet for 1 minute, cut my nails, trimmed my cuticles and painted my nails. No lotion, no scrub, no heel buff. The whole process took 20 minutes. I have never felt so disappointed with a nail salon before ! I got my nails done here about a week ago with a woman who obviously wasn't good at her job because I got a full set of nails and they ALL CAME OUT!!!! I dont even understand how this happened I always get my nails done here and they usually last about 3 weeks. I was obviously upset about the situation so I called them today to let them know if I could come and see if there was something we could do hoping that they could have some respect about the situation. I went and when I told them what happened and when I showed them there were only two nails that were still there (the two thumbs) and those two nails were obviously not even grown in or anything. they started looking at me and LAUGHING? Talking in their language and looking at me.. I was so confused they told me that I had to pay for a new full set (60$) and This obviously upset me and I asked her why I had to pay the whole amount if I could at least pay half and they told me no knowing I always came here. They were Being super rude and disrespectful. As I was about to leave I told them they sucked and one of the women started yelling in her language !! NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN. read more
