Cara is amazing! She had given me a pedi and full acrylic toe nails. She did amazing work with my toes as they were in bad shape! I am a toe nail clipper and picker. I near tear off my toe nails. When I say she did an amazing job she really did! Like night and day! Vivian did my finger nails and again, I'm a nail biter do she had not much to work with. She also did an amazing job! My nails were done by the manager herself, Mindy, and I am very happy with the outcome. She was very gentle with my hands and took very good care of me. She made small talks; asked me how my day was, etc. and was checking up on me every time. She is very talented and kind. I highly recommend Mindy if you're the type of person who likes their nails very nice. She's very good with customers and she doesn't rush you even if it's busy. What a beautiful location! Everything is shiny and new. The salon is spotless. You can tell that they have a high standard of cleanliness. There is a huge (500+) selection of colours and Mindy was so patient with me even after I changed my mind 3 times about what colour I wanted :) my fingers and toes look amazing. I used to come to this salon since I came to Calgary. I met multiple nail artists until I found Anne, one of the best nail artists. Unfornantly, Anne resigned because she returned to school, which made me have another nail artist, Jetta (pronounced Yotta). During the first appointment with Yotta, I asked her to put shellac instead the previous gel. Just a week after, my nails started to crack. I forgot to mention that I had two cut injuries on my cuticles. A month later, I requested to put clear shellac, and that was when I noticed the damage to my nails despite I have strong nails; my friends thought I did my nail at home and not in a professional nail salon!!! I called the salon and asked for a correction; I was referred to the manager, Mindy, who responded late, apologized for the late response, and told me to come back two days later to correct my nails. When she looked at my nails, the manager told me the damage was from the previous artist, Anne, who I believe is one of the best nail artists I have met. Mindy tried to fix only two nails with polish but told me she could not fix the other nail because there was severe damage that was done by Anne, ignoring the fact that damage occurred at her salon !!!! She recommended covering the nails with colored nail polis, but I have to PAY for the service or just GOOOO!! When I told her that I was going to write a review despite I did not do that in the past because of two injuries (with blood) from the nail machine; she told me, we gave you 20% off for the next service, and you came for the discount!!! Attached are my nails (which I sent to the salon). Came here yesterday with a girlfriend and I was there from 12pm - 2pm for a very basic nail and didn't have any previous nails on. (white ombre w a baby pink base; medium coffin length). During the appt, I had asked the girl to fix several nails (either crooked, random lengths and each nail was a different shape). Emery board + buffer board had been well used prior to me (gross!) and wasn't thrown out after. Girl was on her phone during the appt. -- Nails were atrocious to say the least (nail was a hot pink with white tips...different lengths, thick polish, wasn't sanded down at all, different shapes (still!)) Later that night (8pm- 10pm), my fingers started to swell and was tender to the touch. Realized that the nail extensions were clearly too wide and pressing into my skin and was starting to bleed. -- This morning, I booked the first appt that I could to visit my normal salon to have my nails removed and redone. They were absolutely shocked by my nails and horrible experience. -- Spoke to Mindy this afternoon and she asked me to send her a picture of my nails (had taken some after I left yesterday) and she spent 25 minutes gaslighting saying that I was lying and that there was no way my nails looked like that. She did offer to redo them but not a chance was I going to waste more time + potentially go through ill placed extensions and swollen fingers (not to mention I had already told her I had gotten them redone.) She said according to her, my nails looked fine and they can't offer a refund / or gift credit (despite this being an option on their website) because she has to pay her staff. Honestly the lack of care and empathy for their clients is appalling. Safe to say I won't be returning and will be spreading the word of this experience - far too many reputable salons in Calgary! read more
