    Complimentary chips and salsa

Outdoor service near the fountain s was a nice vibe. The complimentary chips taste like authentic corn chips. The sauces are both good. Mild with some sweetness and flavors. The green has hints of lime but mild. I am loving the music playing in the background, a seat near the fountains with the water sound is even better! The waitress Paola is very friendly and informative. The fuego shrimp...oh my, you get bread cause that Chili spice and fuego means fire....ok. these were very tasty with some fuego, just drink more delicious Margarita so you won't notice the flame. Well, that's what I did... the birria bao buns are still my favorite. The meat with pickled onions and avocado are very tasty. It comes with a red birria sauce to dip for fun.. cause you don't need it. I love this place.. it's a stop in anytime in nearby. The food is great and happy hour before six is a gem!!

    Baja Bowl with chicken

Came here for dinner with one of my gfs. Place is huge, hardly anyone there. Ambiance is warm and cozy. Wish it was a little brighter and a bit more dated too. Seems like everything there needs a pick me up. We got seated fast. Our waitress was nice not that talkative. She got our order quick and our dishes out quick too. My friend ordered a chicken quesadilla and I got a Baja bowl with chicken. Both were ok. I missed the taste of the pico de gallo in my baja bowl. I was waiting for the sour/salty yumminess to kick in, but got nothing. The flavor was just not doing it for me. My friend's quesadilla was standard. Neither dishes really stood out which was unfortunate. One big question I have is - why are the tacos 8 bucks a piece?! Tacos in Jersey City don't even cost that much! I've been to a good amount of Mexican/TexMex places. Sadly, this establishment is Definitely not on the top of my list.

Short Rib Enchilada (very tasty meat), 2 Combo Meal (chicken chimichanga & hard shell beef taco), rice & beans, house margarita

I have been coming here for years, but can tell they have lost some of their pizazz. Menu and portion sizes have been significantly condensed while prices rise. I hope they bring back the mole sauce & margarita sampler someday. Endless chips with two types of salsa, both great. Everything that comes out is fair, but a little sloppily put together presentation-wise. The short rib meat is mighty flavorful, so I do recommend the enchiladas. Most of the tacos are bland. The tables and floor typically need an extra wipe down every time, but service is always friendly.

Stopped in after picking apples with the family. They were able to accommodate our party size and we were immediately seated. Our server was very polite abcs helpful but not when it came to the alcoholic beverages, as she is under 21. The street corn needed more of the mayo and cheese drizzled on but otherwise the corn itself tasted fresh and sweet. I ordered the fajita and was sadly disappointed as there was no real taste/seasoning on it the food. In fact, every adult at the table had the same comment. One of the kids ordered chicken fingers and they were so hard we sent them back and ordered the pizza like the others had.

Pretty nice place, very easy going place even with COVID-19 restrictions, fast service, good food and not pricey. Drinks were pretty good too. Overall a nice Mexican food restaurant, not a lot of options on the menu but that could be because of Covid season. Will get back and try it again once all this passes

I ordered the burger, which was pretty big and juicy. The fries were nice and crispy as well. For dessert, we got the banana dulce de leche gelato and ice cream cookie sandwiches. The gelato was so unique and rich. The ice cream cookie sandwiches were perfect for me and I loved the side of Nutella with nuts on top which added a nice crunch. Their commitment to hospitality beats most restaurants I've ever visited. In our reservation, I noted that we were celebrating a birthday. When we were sat at the table, a birthday card was waiting for my mom. Our waitress Bailey was so nice and accommodated my mom's request to not draw too much attention to the celebration. I also adore the atmosphere in 618. The lighting is so elegant with the many chandeliers and the flowers on the walls. 618 has easily become a top restaurant for me.

Very cool that Venue 618 was the only NJ restaurant to make the recent Yelp Top 100 restaurants in the US. Sitting at the bar, we were served by Zoey, Steve, and Mike. They've re-done their cocktail menu to include beautiful color illustrations. I enjoyed "One in a Melon," a well-balanced whiskey cocktail with Frank August small batch bourbon, melon, poblano pepper, Aperol, and lime. This was followed by a tasty whiskey sour. My wife ordered a Lemon Drop martini, followed by a decadent chocolate-pistachio dessert martini. All of the cocktails were well-balanced and delicious. On the food side, I munched on a baked macaroni & cheese with chorizo. It was perfect! The Death of Hospitality brand thrives on personalization and unexpected surprises. Mixologist Steve, realizing that I'm a whiskey afficionado, surprised me with a small pour of Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel bourbon. This is a difficult bottle to find in New Jersey. Rock Hill Farms was incredible, with a super long finish. Thanks for the memories 618!

Some people at my table were ok with their items but my family didn't particularly enjoy theirs. I tried the ribeye cheesesteak which was pretty bland. My wife tried th Tuscan Caesar wrap. I had a bite of hers and it was also very bland. The Caesar dressing is a vinaigrette dressing which isn't ideal for a Caesar wrap and in this instance confirmed that. The French fries were just ok. It was more breading than anything. The water however was fresh. Maybe not the most important thing but surprisingly good for a restaurant. Folks in my party also order several margaritas which they advised were just mid. They didn't really taste any of the top shelf tequila they paid additionally. All in all it's a convenient place to sit and eat before or after having to take the kids to play in the gaming area for the day. Great service, but mid food.

Luckily happy hour just started and margaritas were only $9. I saw on the menu they now changed the verbiage for the poke bowls and adjusted it to raw vs cooked. I decided to order a poke bowl again and I'm very glad I did. I chose lettuce as my base as I had a very heavy lunch earlier in the day. The dressing I chose was the sesame dressing. It was light and not too overpowering, you get a lot of fresh salmon. Honestly was a great improvement from the last time. Additionally, service was better this time around. Our bartender was very attentive and had us in and out of the restaurant within an hour.
