I wanted to love Escapology but this was the worst escape room we have done yet, and we've done probably about 50. That doesn't mean it was absolutely horrendous, but it was underwhelming for the price. We did the Murder Mystery escape room, which, granted, was marked as a moderately hard room. However, there's a difference between difficult and impossible to figure out. This room was the latter. Part of the reason we kept struggling was because the room wasn't properly functioning. Two clues weren't in their proper place from the previous guests and the game masters had to come in and get them out of the locks with pliers. We weren't given much extra time after these mishaps, and the clues they kept giving us were things we had already figured out -- almost like they were AI generated or pre-loaded. The entire room was just... underwhelming. I don't necessarily regret doing this room, every Escape Room is a cool experience, this one was just not as cool, I guess. read more

As of 1/28/25, this place has 6 different escape rooms. It's also one of the most popular escape rooms I've ever been to. Upon walking into the lobby, there were a lot of people there, the interior design is very well done. Each of the rooms offers a different theme and are relatively well made. The only thing is that this place is the most expensive escape room I've been to clocking in at $41 per person or $61.50 if you're booking on the weekend. All the games allow you to have unlimited hints which, even for an amateur like me, means you will win all the time; it's great because it lets the players decide how difficult they want each room to be. Unlike other rooms, they don't have a leader board for teams who complete the game with no hints. We tried the Mansion murder room and it is a very difficult room; our group used a plethora of hints because we were stumped often. They also need to put two markers in each room since the we most definitely had to use the marker and it worked half the time. I wish their website displayed the difficulty of each room. The design of the room was great but its storyline was quite forgettable. The person giving us hints was only attentive 90% of the time, but it was enough for us to get out with an escape with only 2 minutes left. read more

Decided last minute as we were walking by to jump in to escape from the heat. We had our 7 and 11 year old kids with us and had a blast! We've done escape rooms before, so had an idea of what to expect. They have fun room options, staff was super nice, and lobby decor is fab! We successfully escaped the "Lost City" room (with some hints :D) and had a great time. Hope to be back again to try the Scooby Doo room! read more

Family Fun! Great way to beat the heat! We were randomly walking around the mall and needed something fun to do. For me it seems 4-5 people would be perfect, we had 7 and it felt super overcrowded. 5 adults and 2 children. We did the Indiana Jones/Jungle themed room, can't remember what it was called. It was so well put together! Definitely a challenge but so much fun! I'm sure the host was dying because we were all over the place. We used all our hint plus more. It was about finished for us not the time. I did take off one star because the room was so tiny. We were all over each other without much wiggle room. Plus, one of the locks wasn't working which made it quite hard. But either way great time and I would love to try the other rooms. Highly recommend! Strong 4/5 read more

I called ahead to ask some questions and the young woman who answered was oh so helpful and patient. We booked online and completely all of the necessary forms online as well. Neat multi-room puzzles, that aren't too easy to solve. Would love to do them more often (we've now done two of the escape rooms), but the cost is prohibitive at $250+ for 6 of us for an hour, so we use this as a special occasion type event. We did have one electronic item malfunction, and the observer (game master) didn't notice, so we had to go outside of the room to get help. Staff acknowledged that the item was problematic "Oh, it timed out again", but then was annoyed at having to come in and reset it. It was disruptive to the story line and spirit of the event, and would have been nice to have been given an apology at minimum, but that didn't happen. We also had an issue with not getting timely responses when we waved our hands in the air (as instructed) to ask for clues. Between the delays on clues and the malfunction we probably wasted 10 minutes. The staff coldly told us that they had other rooms to run beside ours when we mentioned it. We've been to other escape rooms, and the condition of the rooms and responsiveness of the staff has been better. Perhaps this Escapology location needs to hire more staff to run effectively, and at the price customers are paying need to invest in the upkeep of the rooms. read more

What a fun date night! My husband and I have birthdays only a day apart, so we decided on an escape room to celebrate this year. This was only our second room and first time with Escapology. The mood is instantly set when you walk into their facility. The front of the house staff is kind and welcoming, and Jay was our game master. He really made the experience fun and just the right level of challenging! Ultimately we escaped (with some hints from our game master)! This is a franchise escape room so not much originality. We did not enjoy how dark it was, you had to use a flashlight the whole time. The fake smoke made it hard to breathe and made it hotter in the small space. The puzzles are worn down. They email farm everyone in your group, why do you need everyone's email? What do you do about kids with no email? There is no description of the difficulty level when you book and when we got there with newbies they said we picked the hardest room! There are no refunds so we were stuck. They also over book all the rooms so the lobby was filled with a large and loud group that got all the staff attention. It was a waste of money, they want everyone to win so they practically give you the answer without being clever about clues, which just makes you not want to get clues or feel stupid when you do. read more

Great setup, I've been to multiple other escape rooms that seem like they were thrown together overnight. These guys have done a great job setting the mystery mood when you walk in the door. We did "Antidote" with a group of five, including two under the age of 14, and it was plenty of fun and skill level appropriate. The staff is quite friendly and the room and detail level was one of the best I've been in with plenty of decoration but you don't get too tied up with something that's irrelevant to solving the puzzle. The way they penalize on hints in excess of three is nice that it doesn't reduce your available time to escape, only adds to your overall time/ score at the end. We'll done guys. This place is absolutely incredible! We did Lost City and sence we didn't find that room very challenging and thaught it was pretty easy, the owner let us do Narco for free! Not only that but the customer service is outstanding and this place constantly gets new escape rooms! Can't wait for the 2 new rooms that are replacing Narco and Antidote next year! I've been to numerous escape rooms in Arizona and the surrounding southwest; this one was one of the most fun. I went on a date here so it was just the two of us and we did the "Antidote" escape room, the puzzles were detail oriented and well thought out, not too hard but not a walk in the park either. The staff was very friendly and the clues were very on point for what we were stuck on. This is also one of the few escape rooms in the area that allows parties of only 2 people to do the escape room instead of having to have a larger group along with no insane price hikes for smaller parties. read more

Really disappointing experience for my group last time we went. Did the 7 sins game and without giving too much away, several things weren't reset properly so we ended up having acess to things early and we ended up totally confused. The room guide didn't step in and help us or tell us why we had things early. When our game was over, we were just kind of shooed out and they happily greeted the next people without even apologizing or having a good explanation to our questions. Had the opportunity to check out the new escape room joint Escapology in the San Tan mall Saturday. This was my first time trying out this type of place and we had a ball. The entrance is super cool with a classic old- school vibe. The staff was great and signing up online was nice because I was able to reserve a time of my choosing. We tried out the murder mansion themed room. We had a game master Avery who was great in walking us through what to expect. Sad to say we failed as the room was tough. But it was a great time and planning to go back with additional friends soon. This place is worth your time so go and check them out. read more
