Awesome! We are from Las Vegas and wanted to do an escape room while in Boise. Escape This Live did not disappoint. It was a great experience. We did the wizard room since we hadn't seen anything like that before and hadn't seen that option back home. The puzzles were great, and the decor added to the room theme. We completed the task with 30 seconds to spare with the help of our incredible gamekeeper, Dana, who had to give us a few clues along the way. This is my fourth escape room and first one in Boise. My family and I have done over 50 escape room all around the country. I LOVE the rooms at Escape This! We have done the Wild West room, the Wizard room, the Jungle room and the Pirates room. I honestly can't pick a favorite. Each had a great mix of lock and tech puzzles with interesting and unique codes to figure out. The different and unique elements within each room were refreshing. The staff is incredibly likable and they are truly there for the experience. I can't recommend Escape this more highly. Have tried other escape rooms around Boise and this one is by far in a different league (and not in a good sense)....... A big tell is that it is located in what appears to be old apartments.... Definitely not on the same level as Labyrinth or Treasure Valley escape rooms.... The room was also cold as if they were stingy with the heat..... Another thing to be very wary of is all the 5 star reviews with very few of these being recent (one each on New Years day 2023 and 2023 with zero in between).....no way this place competes with the other available escape rooms which are no more expensive..... There are also a very high number of reviews "not recommended".....dicey.... Would not recommend at even half the price.......place has a Motel 6 quality to it.... read more

I booked this place for our kids soccer team out of state team building event and so glad I did. I communicated with Sherry, the manager, who was very fast answering all my questions. She did her very best to accommodate our time restrictions and made it so easy for us to book. We arrived on site much earlier than expected and since the rooms were available, we were able to get in early. The staff was super friendly. New record for this room-woohoo! Clever clues and great fun (in this case!) We did the Wild West room and enjoyed the numerous clues in this single roomed game. The video to "introduce" the game skipped a bit but the subtitles made it easy to follow along. We ordered tickets through living social but that meant to use them, only the later sessions were available for the discounted tickets. We will definitely try out the other rooms soon! read more

Ok, talk about FUN!!! This was my first escape room experience and it was a BLAST! I really didn't know what to expect when going in, and now I can't wait to do it again. We completed the wizard room with 11 minutes to spare. Apparently, this is one of the harder rooms to complete. The entire time I was in the room with my friends I thought to myself "who comes up with these puzzles and riddles?" They are so creative! Because there was a group of us, we booked in advance and we were able to have our own private room. If you have 12 friends wanting to do this, it really is so much fun! Holidays, family and friends... what to do after all the Christmas activities? ESCAPE THIS was thrown out as an idea and off we went after making a reservation. Jade was a perfect host, patient and professional. After we all assembled and signed the waiver, we were ushered to the Wizard Room. It had amazing wizard-like decor. She gave simple instructions to open drawers, move and look under objects, take notes and take nothing for granted. We had an hour. We were on our own with number combination locks, letter combination locks, ordinary key locks and not so ordinary key locks, magic wands, snake riddles, ciphers, a magic potion, a hidden room and so much more. Jade did offer us a couple of hints via a monitor and intercom when we were so close but stuck. We completed the adventure with 5 minutes to spare. This was so much fun. I can't wait to try all the rooms. Not costly and a fantastic value. I highly recommend this activity for you, your family, your friends, team building, co-workers or any special occasion. Came here with friends and had so much fun! We were in the Wild West Saloon themed room. Dimly lit with flickering lanterns reminiscent of a time gone by, you are afforded one hour to get out of a room full of puzzles, locks, and mind teasing clues. It's part brain test, part team work exercise. No matter how clever you are, you're going to need your team to help you get outta there! The hour begins with a short video (backstory). In the Wild West Saloon, the video actually provides you with the location of your means of escape. Easy enough, right? Wrong. It took 5 of us 55 minutes to figure it all out! But, hey! We made it out. And, only required one hint. (thank goodness for smart friends is all I can say) I think this would be a great team building exercise for work, teams, clubs, classes--it really required a coordinated effort in order to be successful. It's also great if you're looking for something different than the run-of-the-mill sort of entertainment. It would be great for a group date night as well! Much more interactive than the usual dinner and a movie. We all had a great time and are excited to try the pirate room next!! Get to it! read more

Our group managed to escape the Wild West Saloon Room with 5 minutes to spare. Getting caught by the Sheriff was not an option. Without giving away too many details or clues, I was really impressed by various small details through out the challenge and where or how some clues were revealed. It really took it to the next level, very clever all the way around. This was a really cool and unique experience, it definitely keeps you on your toes. The room we chose was Medium level and was fairly challenging, but not too challenging where you feel frustrated/defeated. When you are truly stumped, you can ask for a clue. We will definitely be back to try another room. It sounds like they already have a ton of cool themed room ideas in the works and are constantly thinking of ways to keep it interesting and change things up a bit. This will now be our go to "thing to do" when we have company in town. read more

This was my 5th escape room and my friends and I did the zombie escape. It was a blast!!! It had the perfect amount of challenge in it and the clues were very creative. On top of that, the owner Sherry is super friendly and welcoming! They are doing a great job during covid and are currently using baby monitors to communicate to players so it's completely contact free. My family and I are escape room junkies and have traveled many states. While visiting Boise we looked up Escape This Boise and the Wild West Saloon was an interesting theme that is a bit different that most. We found the theme to be very linear, meaning that you had to complete tasks in a particular order to move onto the next one. This is a bit frustrating for groups as everyone is stuck on pretty much the same task whereas many other rooms that we have experienced provide multiple opportunities to achieve the ultimate goals. This room would be good for a couples date or young children who like to open various forms of combination locks. read more

I went with zero expectations as I am not good at clues and playing detective. Jace welcomed us and gave us a pretty good rundown and started the clock for the hour countdown. The more clues we cracked, the more exciting it got. Finally, we got the last key to unlock the box that held the treasure skull. And just like that, it was over. I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun we all had! There were seven people in our group and even when people weren't doing anything, we were still having fun! This company is family owned and operated and I can't give them enough kudos! Way to go! Will absolutely recommend to everyone! Great experience! Staff was super friendly. We went in with a group of 8 and did the western theme. The basic idea is to figure out how to "escape" within an hour using riddles and room cues. I will say it was difficult for everyone to be involved all at the same time. Probably better for 6 or less but the room wasn't cramped or claustrophobic which my wife was worried about. It's all about the riddles. We got the seventh best time ever. Will definitely go back for other adventures. Thursday was discount day and made it absolutely worth the money. Nothing to drink there so bring your own water, or canteen ... or flask. The staff did break out their own personal supply of waters for us though. read more

My boyfriend and I have done multiple Escape Rooms back in our home state of Maine. When we were looking for something fun to do while visiting here, we found Escape This Live, and we had a BLAST! Typically, we play with a bunch of friends and were worried that we wouldn't make it through the Pirate Room, since it was just the two of us. We gave it all we had and actually escaped with 11 minutes to spare! I like that the Pirate Room is set up to where it is possible for at least two people to escape, but I see how it could also be fun for more people. Our group of 7 completed the BlackBeard's Room and had a blast! Two of us had previously done escape rooms before (in Vegas) so we kind of knew the drill. Even still these rooms are very easy to pick up on and get into. We were worried there wouldn't be enough to do for all of us since we've done rooms with only 4 and had times with some lulls; however we all had chances to contribute and the puzzles and riddles kept us all busy throughout, sometimes between two different puzzles at once. We made it out in about 45 minutes and the time goes by so quickly you don't even notice. Very creative use of props and puzzles! Will return when we are back in town. read more
