We went to Escape Room Virginia-Peninsula yesterday and had an amazing time. Our Gamemaster, Aracya did a wonderful job explaining everything to us and adding to the wonderful experience we had. Thank you so much. We will definitely return!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. PLEASE!!! So.... it seems everyone found this escape room by Groupon. There are other local ones that blow this place out of the water. If you Check in on Yelp you get a sticker. It is in Peninsula Town Center... by Five Guys... in a little breeze through... there is a door for a building I think the Chamberlin?? BUT you have to go in there and go to the 2nd floor... there was not sign telling you to go in there. We drove around waiting to see a business sign. We finally called and after MUCH confusion they said they were in that building. The place smelled very musty, dusty, and dirty. The bathroom smelled like someone just poured an ash tray in the trash. It was a very strong cigarette smell. The place was not welcoming or inviting. When we walked in we kind of stood there waiting since no one was there and then finally a staff member came out. The Gamemaster was so rude. She said you are only supposed to get 3 hints but she does not keep count, just don't ask her every 5 minutes... she said that like 3 times. It was very odd because they said there were two cameras in the room so that they could see us and that there was a walkie-talkie to use to ask if we needed a clue. We asked if we could have a clue but it took a while for the Gamemaster to reply. Obviously she was not watching the cameras because she was asking what we had done so far, what box we had left, asking had we opened this or that. So she obviously had no idea where we were at. The room was so dusty it was disgusting. We could tell where you never needed to look because there was piles of dust. We looked under things and the other friend accidentally put their hand under the bed and it was covered in dust. I'm really disappointed because we were super excited about going here and the whole thing just turned out terrible and I would never recommend it to anyone. This was our second time at an escape room. We went to a previous place, the game master was so nice there, they could see you, they could hear you, and you just said can I have a clue, you did not use a walkie-talkie. I guess that is just outdated? Finally when we Escape the Room the girl wrote A Time on the board but that was not the correct time, the point of the escape room I feel like is that it's so exciting that it gets down to minutes and seconds before you're able to escape. She just wrote the minutes on there and I said what about the seconds? I did make her change it. We worked hard to get out. When we did find the hidden item in the room we just open the door and kind of stood there until a worker saw us. They said okay well I guess you are done. If you want to take a picture you can but you don't need to. We decided to take a picture but we couldn't send it to ourselves or anything and she didn't offer to take one on our phone. Another place I went when they took the photo, you were able to get it sent to you which was pretty awesome so all in all please do not go here. Do not waste your time.

My husband and I enjoyed a super fun date starting at the Escape Room Virginia Peninsula! Neither of us had ever done an escape room before but we received a Groupon to this location for Christmas and checked it out in April. It's located on the second floor of a building in the Peninsula Town Center near Jimmy Johns. There were plenty of signs in and outside the building letting us know where to go. There was also plenty of parking nearby on the street, as well as a couple of parking lots that wouldn't be a long walk away. Someone greeted us when we arrived, took us to the room we had reserved online, and gave instructions. After asking if we had any questions, she started our hour and left the room. The instructions were clear and we were told we could ask for unlimited hints using a walkie talkie. We chose The Great Estate Mystery. We had a blast finding clues and working our way to solving the mystery, which we were able to do with 2-3 hints and only a few seconds remaining. We both really enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely do it again- in one of the other themed-rooms!

This is not my first time doing an escape room! The place was hard to find. I had to call and ask where they were located and they did not even know near by places. Finally found them. It is within a building on the second floor. There is a bell that goes off to let them know someone has entered and they come from the back area. The place smelled musty and like cigarettes! There was confusion in the being about who was all going in the rooms and we started late. Glad I did not bring a date here. To ask for clues you have to use a walkie talkie and they do not know where you are during the one hour even though there are cameras watching. Very unprofessional! I will not come to back to this location.

Great time with great friends at a great place! We did Greta's Diner and had such a blast! The theme of the room was 1950's sock hop soda shop. It was so well designed that you felt like you were back in the 1950's, just like Back to the Future! Cleverly well-thought out design in that the clues were clean and simple, so don't over think it!! Very engaging and if you work together as a team, the victory of sweet success is yours to savor!! So if you're looking for a great way to spend quality time AND fun with your pod, check this place out! There is plenty of parking and it's in the midst of plenty of shops and restaurants for pre- or post-game activities, like dinner or browsing. Just be sure to get there early, so you can sign the waivers and get the pre-game instructions prior to the start of what I guarantee you a fun-filled time. Our game master was witty and very accommodating with photos for our group post-game!

This was a work outing for my team. We split into groups and one group did the cabin and my group did the alien abduction. One team escaped, my team did not escape. We had a great time ! I will visit again for sure.

I called ahead as I saw no one had booked the time before us (5pm). I asked if we could possibly come at 6pm since the booking before us was open. The person on the phone wouldn't even let me get out the fact that we were traveling over an hour to do this room. Very short..:"You can come at 5 or 7, that's it". Okay fine, my boyfriend is a game master so we figured there may not be a game master available at 6pm. When we arrived the guy at the desk barely said two words to us. Put a tablet in our hands with no direction. Again it was a good thing we had done so many rooms so we knew to complete the waiver. After that the only communication we got "first door on the left, good luck". Okay again....direction? Locks? Did you ask us if we had done a room before? Once in the room we had to wait over 2 minutes to get clues that were sub-par, and the game master failed to even mention that one lock was not necessary since we were not playing in competition mode. When we "escaped" the room we didn't even realize we had escaped. No enthusiasm from the game master what so ever. Sadly this is our first and last experience. Disappointing since we traveled over an hour for this one.

Tip for finding it: the business park it's in has lots of buildings that look alike. The sign they put out front is quite small. We were the only ones there besides our host, Maya. She was so friendly & welcoming, such a pleasure to meet her. We got started right away in Blackbeard's Cabin, said to be the hardest room. Well, I'll tell you it IS tough! We found lots (and lots and lots) of clues but at the halfway mark had to start asking for hints. What to do when you've found 20 or 30 bits that lead to a solution, but can't figure out how to assemble them? Why, talk like a pirate, of course. With ample hints, we actually solved it with 8 minutes to spare. Many laughs and head scratches, "hmmm"s and "Oh wait, wait!" but in the end we triumphed. DGD the Younger and I don't like jump scares, so I don't know that we would ever try the Chesapeake Bay Butcher room, but I would love to try Cyberpunkd the next time we come to Williamsburg.

The customer service rep was really helpful. He showed us how to use the controls and would check on us once in a while to ensure our game was running smoothly. I wish the VR had an actual category for multiplayers. Although at the front desk, it did show which games were multiplayer along with horror and family. So if you're interested in those categories, make a mental note of a few games so you know what to play instead of searching around. I also saw when playing Rotten Apple, the controller accuracy was a bit off. I don't know if the game needed to be updated or what because the accuracy was fine when I played Shooty Fruity. Overall, I would recommend people to try this place out for indoor entertainment whether it's with friends, as a date, or even by yourself!
