Here with DD, DGS & DGD for our second time together doing this. DGD considers herself an expert and always insists on taking the toughest challenge, which we didn't solve in time. But we had a lot of fun trying! We chose the "Scene of the Crime" and our host told us it's the hardest room. I can believe it! The scene itself was excellent; done in black, white and grey, it had the gritty feel of a detective's office from the 1930's. No spoilers here! but I will say that some of the clues were *very* involved! I haven't done all the rooms, obviously, but some Yelper rated this room as medium difficulty, to which I now say "BS!" lol. The host said the only reason many folx think "The Attic" is the hardest is because of the scare factor. We might just try that next time we're visiting the area. The bathroom could use a paint touchup, but it was clean. Parking is ample and free. read more

We've visited a few escape rooms across the country at this point and Escape2Win was a solid business. Their staff were super friendly and we had so much fun in the first room (The Explorer's Club) that we booked their Lunar Lockdown room a couple of hours later on the same day. It was definitely harder but a unique room with some really great puzzles. I'd recommend either! They have a good variety of puzzles and give you hints as you need - just enough to figure it out yourself. They also provide a good intro to each room so you know where NOT to look for clues. This was our first escape room, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. 3 of us in a room designed for 2-6 people and given an hour to do it. Man the time flew by! We made a reservation the day before and the only availability was the Explorer Club. This seems to be the beginner room. It was challenging, and we used some tips, but we managed to get it done. It wasn't easy by any means. We were given clear 'what not to do' rules so we didn't tear up the room, and hints when we asked for them. There was ample room for parking and the prices were reasonable. The staff was very conscious about COVID protocols, and we're all wearing masks. We had to be masked the whole time, even in the room. We had a great experience, glad we looked at other reviews and picked this place. I recommend it. read more

This is one of the best escape room experiences I've had in Hampton Roads. The waiting room and some fun games and we didn't have to wait long to get started. I really liked how this place had a very clear and well explained training video. Other places tend to have one employee vocally explain everything too fast. We did the spaceship themed room and were honestly shocked by how much effort and detail were put into the interior design and storyline of this particular room. My team and I are relatively experienced in escape rooms and found the difficulty to be both hard and extremely fair. I'd love to share more but that would rob you of the experience. You just have to come here and experience it yourself! I'm definitely coming back to finish the rest of the rooms and look forward to new creations. read more

We (2 people) completed the Escape2Win Scene of the Crime. Upon entering the building, there was a projector screen in the lobby that was supposed to play the usual rules of escape rooms (don't force things to move, you aren't truly locked in, etc). The projector was not working properly to show the video so the game master told us the rules. Then we entered the room where the game master explained the story of the room. We prefer when there is a prerecorded story instead as it seems to build more suspense than the game master trying to recite the story. The props were made well. Some of the clues within the room were not helpful and some did not require fully solving a riddle such as magnets not needing to be in the correct place. The chalkboards were not erased well and it kind of ruined the mystery. It was an overall enjoyable time. I would recommend it for beginners if all of the clues made more sense. read more

One of the most impressive escape rooms we have been to in Virginia thus far. The Lunar Lockdown room felt just like a set from many of our favorite Sci-Fi films! Even our daughter enjoyed the little details (that I won't spoil on here). I definitely recommend checking this place out. The only complaint (from my husband) was that his mask kept falling randomly below his nose and the mysterious person running the game would interrupt the adventure to remind him to pull it up. I would normally understand but we were in a contained room with our family and we all had our masks up except his fell a few times. Been here twice. Second time was the lunar lockdown room. My brother in law is a big star wars fan etc. The end was pretty cool for us. Battling on the screens and communicating back and forth. It was a little difficult compared to our first room the ghostly encounter. Maybe because my wife and mom just weren't as into it. We will definitely be back to do the last room. It has always been fun and we have a blast. It's close to top golf as well and we head there after. Wish they had more rooms, once you so them, you don't really want to do them again. Imagine this. You're in space. Hostile aliens are rapidly approaching. Nearly all of your ship's functions have been shut down and aren't responding. If you can't get the craft fully functional you and your crew will be blasted to space dust. This is the situation in which you find yourself in what is possibly the best escape room experience in Hampton Roads. From the moment the door closes behind you it isn't like you are in a space ship, you ARE in a space ship. I've done some very immersive and well decorated rooms before, but nothing quite on this level. From realistic looking moving stars through looking windows to believable control consoles, to even the believable flooring, I feel like we could have shot an episode in there for some sci fi tv show. And the immersion doesn't stop at the aesthetics either. Again you are introduced to the game via a very well done pre-recorded video. From here, the mad dash to get your ship up and running begins, and it is indeed a wild ride. It's worth mentioning that this is definitely not a gen one low tech room. As such you'll find that this room doesn't follow on with some of the normal conventions of other escape rooms. There isn't as much item hunting as there is in others (there is a little, mind you). There are no key locks and only one traditional combination lock. Almost everything is computer or interface controlled. Which is perfect! This is supposed to be the future. You should feel like you are using future technology. And this room has technology in spades. Computer and technology based puzzles help create an ever-changing environment while special effects create a surreal level of dynamics to the game. I think back to the first room I ever did and thinking it was cool when placing a statue in a certain spot resulted in a key descending from a ceiling. Lunar Lockdown takes you quite literally out of this world. For all of that, we found the puzzles to be classic in nature. When you strip out the fancy high tech, razzle dazzle, the puzzles tend to be more grounded but in a good way. Considering how different this room is from the rest, if they tried to get too crazy with the puzzles it might have been overwhelming. And when it's all done, you will be treated to the single best end of game reward ever. I don't want to spoil anything, just know that we were absolutely amazed. This might be the first room I choose to go back and do a second time because the ending was really just that damn good. If you want high tech, high immersion crazy escape room fun, Lunar Lockdown is the room for you. Seriously. I can't rave about this thing enough. read more

I am blown away. Lunar Lockdown is UNREAL. It literally FEELS and LOOKS like your on a spaceship. The detail is out of this world. I felt like I was at a Disney park attraction. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! We had the best experience both with the room itself and with the staff! They were super accommodating and had great customer service! We went for my husband's birthday and it would be a surprise that his 2 brothers would be joining us from out of town. Unfortunately they were running late, so I called the place to let them know and since they didn't have any bookings the hour after us, they assured us we'd be ok being a few minutes late. Still attempting to keep everything a surprise, the staff even helped to pretend that the room wasn't ready just so I could keep the latecomers a surprise! It was great and perfect!! There's a waiting room where we hung out at that had some games and puzzles, which I thought was a great added touch to the whole experience. Moving on to the room, we did Lunar Lockdown and it definitely lived up to the hype of previous reviews! There was a story in the beginning to set the stage, and the special effects were sooooo good! You became immersed into another world and just when you thought you'd seen all the special effects, there was more! We ended up making it out and immediately the staff offered to take our pictures! This place was very cool. Got it off a Groupon and was well worth the money with 6 of us. The kept the door locked before you could come inside kept social distance when explaining rules. It didn't have a lot of people in there but we heard her say she was about to sanitize the room that others just got done with. I've been to two other escape rooms in the area, and this one by far was my favorite. The clues and riddles actually made sense to me. They seemed to be really thought out and everything flowed. The employee/owner monitored our progress and talked to us via intercom when we were stuck. (The last escape room I went to, we had to really explain what we've found and where we were at and that wasted a lot of time!) There were also times where we had to say things out loud or find a certain clue to activate an effect or video. Having our progress monitored made for a different escape room experience. It was really more than looking at pages in random places for codes to unlock locks. My friends and I got a sneak peak of their upcoming room, and I'm excited to try it! read more

Loads of fun! Went with my stepmom & best friend, we chose to do The Explorer's Club, and we had a blast. The puzzles were thought-provoking and really motivated us to complete them and escape. While they weren't impossible, the puzzles and riddles were immersive and fun. Not only that, but the waiting lobby even had a handful of little strategy puzzles (peg puzzles, Rubik's cube, etc.) to occupy yourself while you wait. Really got the brain working to prepare yourself for the room. Overall really enjoyable, owner is friendly and obviously passionate about the subject. He even showed us a sneak peak of an upcoming room once we finished. A little pricey, admittedly, but definitely worth it. Totally coming back to do Ghostly Encounter! read more
