DISAPPOINTMENT!! Do NOT waste your money. Our family of 5 tried this 1 hr escape room for $225 and while the concept was very cool they failed to execute it probably leaving us completely disappointment and frustrated. Gamemaster failed to give us proper directions and help when the equipment was faulty (broken locks and wires) and this made it a complete waste of our time. It was SO hot in the rooms and I kept asking for AC to be turned on. In the second room I noticed window AC units and asked if I could turn it on. Why weren't the rooms cool on a hot 85 degree afternoon?? We spent time on clues unnecessarily that were Red Hearings. "Before you begin"...we tried this clue for long while and believed it was necessarily to begin the challenge!!!! Gamemaster told us at the end it wasn't necessary to advance?! Locks didn't function properly (kept trying and trying with the clue "teapot") and the Gamemaster never chimed in and we couldn't move on, despite solving the clue! Why wasn't the Gamemaster paying attention. One clue was (out the window and across the street) and it was hidden by scaffolding!! We kept trying over and over to figure it out as the clock ticked on, but the sign and place being referenced was NOT visible because the store front had scaffolding in front of it. At the end we asked to see the remaining rooms and we weren't allowed. This made my kids (12, 9, 7) extremely disappointed. We expected a great "experience" and a nice family challenged. This ended up being an expensive frustration and waste of time.

I can't wait to be locked in a room!!

Awesome! That's the only word I have to describe it. I've been to this company's games in Hackensack and really enjoy both of them. Although it's a bit of a ride for us to Madison I was sure that if I convince my friends to go they would love it. There was 8 of us in all and only 3 of us have been to Escape Rooms before. As a side note if you've never been to Madison it's a really cool little town. We got there early and grabbed the drink at a place called main 54. It's just a fun little town to walk around and kind of like Ridgewood in Bergen County. So the game we played was called The Lost Cabin. They always tell you not to give anything, so i can only say so much but it's really cool, looks amazing, has some of the most high-tech stuff I have ever seen in an escape room. We didn't get out but they said we made it 70% of the way through the game. It was tough, but really fun. We chose not to find out the end but do Redemption instead. Its a unique offer that this company has (I haven't come across it at any other escape rooms yet) in which they let you have another shot at the game at half price if you'd like to do so. I beat their S.W.A.T. game in the Hackensack location using Redemption (another great game!) So get there early as you can check out the town and bring the crew as it's a really great Escape Room game, a total find! Definitely add this to your list of Escape Room list of games that you must do!

We've been to a lot of escape rooms. A lot of escape rooms. Some of been good, some have been great, a few have been terrible. This is certainly one of the better ones. You can tell that because if you are on yelp you know what five stars means. We just finished this room an hour ago and the puzzles were fresh and original. We did king Arthur's room which was a new type of room for us. The fact that it was dimly lit added to the challenges. The puzzles were tough but made sense. Some things we figured out before we should have so maybe there's some mechanical errors and a few things that didn't work correctly but that happens sometimes. Lots of cool authentic designs. All in all a few, great experience.

We escaped!

A great escape room at a great price! It is definitely made with love. We did the immersive actor…read moreexperience called Raven Guild. It was very very spooky. The puzzles are solid. And the host are amazing. The live actor has an extra element that you don't get in the traditional escape room. Go support these guys their local and they're super cool.

Disappointed. For $44/person, it was very underwhelming. This was probably our 15th escape room…read more.. and it was our least favorite and the most we've ever paid for one. 1) They allow up to 15 people to do one room. But since the entire escape room has to be in sequential order, there's only 1 puzzle that can be worked on at a time. Only about 4 people could work on it and everyone else just had to stand around. If they're going to allow that many people, more puzzles to solve at one time is a must or it gets boring for everyone else. Too linear for such a large group. 2) The clues were not very creative, most of the time the code was written right next to it. There are more creative ways with that many people to gather clues for the codes. 3) Clues were smeared which need to be updated so you can actually read it. 4) It was so hot in there! And I'm usually cold every where I go for reference. 5) When a door would unlock there was no sound or indication it was open which was frustrating because we were doing the right thing waiting for a door to open but no idea when it finally opened. A sound effect would be nice. 6) Speakers need to be updated, they were blaring and hard to hear 7) The tips given were what we had already solved 8) No countdown clock to know how much time we had left. 9) No signs or place to do a photo op at the end. Usually these places have signs you can hold up like "we escaped" in x amount of time. Typically the employee will take a photo and make it fun. If it were $20/person I think I'd be less irritated. It was the probably the largest escape room I've ever seen. Could easily split the room in half, and offer more escape rooms with less people in each. Basically just 1 puzzle per room felt like wasted real estate. Could have been so much cooler with the size of their escape room. Our group of 6 left not saying much. Any time I've gone with groups people are talking about how fun it was. It was just an awkward exit.

Escape rooms, puzzles, and games are one of my kinks. What can I say, I love me some adrenaline and…read morecompetition. The two of us went to the Amazing Escape Room in Green Brook for the first time. It's located in a shopping plaza on Route 22 with plenty of parking available. They have 5 different rooms to choose from with varying levels of difficulty. All rooms are private so it's just you and your party - no strangers. You book a room and time slot on their website. It's $33 per person with a maximum of 8 people. There's a $3 booking fee per person as well as state tax. One major con is that they have a 4 person minimum on weekends (Friday 3pm-Sunday 3pm). You can still play with less than 4 people, BUT you're going to have to pay a flat rate of $132 no matter what. I'm not a fan of that at all. Our reservation was for 5pm on Saturday. We were greeted by Erick, who was also our gamemaster. He checked us in and explained all of the rules. We did the Illusionist (magician theme), which had a 40% escape rate. You have one hour to escape. The room wasn't anything fancy or high-tech like some other ones, but still very creative and challenging. It was dim, so we had to use our phone flashlights at times. Erick was very helpful, patient, and had great communication with us during the entire game! You get 3 clues that are provided on a screen. He gave us bonus hints when we were struggling, which we appreciated. He even extended our time by a few minutes. For the most part, I thought that the puzzles and clues flowed well together. We wasted too much time on one puzzle that could have been executed better, but oh well! Sadly, we did not escape... we were 3 challenges away :( It was still a lot of fun! They do offer 50% off if you want to try the same room another time as a redemption. After you play, you can take photos in front of their backdrop with funny props. If you're looking for a fun team-building activity, I definitely recommend escape rooms! Just choose the right people and don't lose your cool ;)

Fairly good escape room. We were in the middle of the last challenge which we had already solved…read morewhen the staff walked in 1min early, so I'm going to count it as an escape. Pros: -quite a few different challenges in the room -they provide the clues on a screen which is helpful. Some rooms verbally deliver clue and I can't always hear -lots of parking Cons -they have quite a few things that look like clues but are not part of the game (like padlocks that serve no purpose). They do tell you upfront that stuff which has a pink sticker is not part of the game but we all forgot that by the time the action started, so we blew a lot of time
