So much fun and more interactive than brighton. Lots of screams and tricks I thought it was awesome!

Tried the "Mariner" and "get out" rooms. Both were very exciting and challenging. Give it a try. Coupons on Groupon.

I have never been to another escape room so can't compare, but we had a great experience. Reserved our time slot on their website the day before and the whole process was easy and straightforward. For reference I booked Thursday night for the next evening, Friday a 7 PM session. I was nervous the place would be sold out but they had about 4 rooms available Opted for the "Witches Revenge" which is their hardest room. We found parking on the side road but I can definitely see how it can be challenging in this area. Upon entering, we were greeted right away by a very friendly gentleman who explained what to expect and encouraged everyone to use the restroom since we had a couple of minutes to spare, and the session would be 1 hour. They also have a blank wall with props where you can take pictures before or after showing off your escape room experience. It was a little scary, but super fun. Definitely complicated but thankfully the staff is watching from afar and are there when you need help and will communicate with you while you're in the room. Can't wait to return and try a different room.

I am a huge fan of escape rooms and have done several dozen of these. This one was okay…read more No Spoilers below. We did the "Lost in Space" escape room with two people and escaped with about 15 minutes left. The room was nonlinear, which I liked. This means that there are multiple things to do at once so it is less likely for you to have everyone stuck at a bottleneck with one unsolved puzzle. The decor of the room was very nice and they did a good job setting it up to look like the inside of a spaceship. There was no real introduction to the room - the introduction was that we were taken into the room and told not to touch the orange dots. We also actually legitimately escaped the room leaving a whole set of puzzles unsolved. And there was also one point where we solved a puzzle and it gave us a sheet explaining/hinting how to solve a different puzzle that we had already completed. There were also keys that fit into and unlocked multiple keyholes. All of these things add to confusion and should not be possible. We told the puzzlemaster we only wanted three total hints. We only actually asked for one but we were given five, probably because the puzzlemaster noticed how we were confused by these things. So, all in all, room was nice, but could be a little better organized. See the image for the ranking of puzzle difficulty. It's not on their website.

The two of us went to the Amazing Escape Room in Green Brook for the first time. It's located in a shopping plaza on Route 22 with plenty of parking available. They have 5 different rooms to choose from with varying levels of difficulty. All rooms are private so it's just you and your party - no strangers. You book a room and time slot on their website. It's $33 per person with a maximum of 8 people. There's a $3 booking fee per person as well as state tax. One major con is that they have a 4 person minimum on weekends (Friday 3pm-Sunday 3pm). You can still play with less than 4 people, BUT you're going to have to pay a flat rate of $132 no matter what. I'm not a fan of that at all. Our reservation was for 5pm on Saturday. We were greeted by Erick, who was also our gamemaster. He checked us in and explained all of the rules. We did the Illusionist (magician theme), which had a 40% escape rate. You have one hour to escape. The room wasn't anything fancy or high-tech like some other ones, but still very creative and challenging. It was dim, so we had to use our phone flashlights at times. Erick was very helpful, patient, and had great communication with us during the entire game! You get 3 clues that are provided on a screen. He gave us bonus hints when we were struggling, which we appreciated. He even extended our time by a few minutes. For the most part, I thought that the puzzles and clues flowed well together. We wasted too much time on one puzzle that could have been executed better, but oh well! Sadly, we did not escape... we were 3 challenges away :( It was still a lot of fun! They do offer 50% off if you want to try the same room another time as a redemption. After you play, you can take photos in front of their backdrop with funny props. If you're looking for a fun team-building activity, I definitely recommend escape rooms! Just choose the right people and don't lose your cool ;)

Pros: -quite a few different challenges in the room -they provide the clues on a screen which is helpful. Some rooms verbally deliver clue and I can't always hear -lots of parking Cons -they have quite a few things that look like clues but are not part of the game (like padlocks that serve no purpose). They do tell you upfront that stuff which has a pink sticker is not part of the game but we all forgot that by the time the action started, so we blew a lot of time

Disappointed. For $44/person, it was very underwhelming. This was probably our 15th escape room…read more.. and it was our least favorite and the most we've ever paid for one. 1) They allow up to 15 people to do one room. But since the entire escape room has to be in sequential order, there's only 1 puzzle that can be worked on at a time. Only about 4 people could work on it and everyone else just had to stand around. If they're going to allow that many people, more puzzles to solve at one time is a must or it gets boring for everyone else. Too linear for such a large group. 2) The clues were not very creative, most of the time the code was written right next to it. There are more creative ways with that many people to gather clues for the codes. 3) Clues were smeared which need to be updated so you can actually read it. 4) It was so hot in there! And I'm usually cold every where I go for reference. 5) When a door would unlock there was no sound or indication it was open which was frustrating because we were doing the right thing waiting for a door to open but no idea when it finally opened. A sound effect would be nice. 6) Speakers need to be updated, they were blaring and hard to hear 7) The tips given were what we had already solved 8) No countdown clock to know how much time we had left. 9) No signs or place to do a photo op at the end. Usually these places have signs you can hold up like "we escaped" in x amount of time. Typically the employee will take a photo and make it fun. If it were $20/person I think I'd be less irritated. It was the probably the largest escape room I've ever seen. Could easily split the room in half, and offer more escape rooms with less people in each. Basically just 1 puzzle per room felt like wasted real estate. Could have been so much cooler with the size of their escape room. Our group of 6 left not saying much. Any time I've gone with groups people are talking about how fun it was. It was just an awkward exit.
