Great escape rooms, challenging and fun, employees were really nice and helpful, great experience overall!! Would definitely recommend to others!! read more

Such a great experience! We had a group of 8, and 4 others were booked for the same time but they were helpful. The room is full of excitement, energy from every object in the room. It's great to do with family and friends. It wasn't scary but still thrilling. We made it out of the room with 2 minutes left. Teamwork is key! Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, parking available. If you and friends are contemplating going to the Escape Room in Hackensack, don't wait any longer, book it and have a great time! read more

The room itself is fun and it is a great concept... however putting 18 guests in one single escape room is too much and cheapens the experience. The lack of linear progression with clues, in combination with too many people, made it so not everyone could experience the clues/game. Once we found a clue, 18 people would stand around while one person fidgets with a key... Furthermore, the lack of linear clues (find clue A, to find clue B) made it so not everyone would work together (because you didn't need to). When room 2 opened you couldn't fit all 18 people inside and that's when people lost interest. read more

The room was very challenging but incredibly fun! We ended up escaping the room but we magically skipped a few steps with some clever discoveries. I went there with my boyfriend, my friends, and his, many of whom had not met, and it was a fun way to have them meet. We were going to go as a small group and pay per person (with the chance of joining other small groups in the challenge) but then we added more to the group and did a private room. with 15 people chipping in it came to about $21 per person, which is great. You have an hour to escape and i is HARD! By the way, it is on a busy road so park in a metered lot one street back. read more

This was the second escape room, my first being the mystery room at the palisades mall. This was hands down a pretty awesome experience. We had about ten people in our group and got it reserved for us for $28. It's not bad at all the price given the escape room itself did not disappoint. It was very interactive and our host was very helpful and funny. The place could be a little hard to miss so just keep your eyes open. I enjoyed it very much and i can't wait to go back to try the other rooms. read more

Tried the Escape room for a company event. Was alot of fun but super hard. Bring your smart creative friends. Wish I had longer than an hour. Staff was informative and helpful and very good at what they did. Great idea for a company event. Played gameshows while the other groups were performing the escape room. Just location stinks. Hackensack is so crazy and there is alot of construction going on. Parking is hard to find. read more

Beware of bait and switch pricing! Hackensack and Madison locations have different pricing. My card was overcharged $20 because the Madison location is $5 more per person. When I purchased the gift certificate this was not stated on the website, nor was it mentioned in the FAQ section where it said that shared rooms were $25 per person. When I called to ask for the difference I was told that it was not possible. read more

This place seems like a sham. I try for over 3 months to book a room and because I had a Groupon they kept telling me they were swamp and didn't have any rooms available. Also when you called they ask to text a number to book an appointment. Who books appointments through text??? Seems very shady. I would stay away from This place. read more

Went here last night with my wife, mother and sisters. It was great! I've never actually been to an escape room before but I would definitely go again. The room was scary and the puzzles were difficult but I really loved the fact that we had to really think about the clues in order to move forward. I would highly recommend this for a fun night out with friends. read more

We had an absolute ball here! We went with a large group for an adult birthday party and enjoyed every minute! We have to go back because we couldn't ESCAPE in time! Can't wait to go back! Great for all ages! read more

This was the first escape room for some of us and some had done this before in a different location. We booked the room with a group of 8 and were surprised to see that another group of 4 had been added when we arrived. There was one room. It was interesting and clearly someone had put a lot of thought into creating the challenge. Most of the clues led to opening combination locks- there were many of them. Although we were told that a greater number of people made it easier to solve the clues and escape, I think that it made it more difficult and there were way too many different puzzles and questions to solve in an hour. There were at least 15 puzzles to solve so if you were to do it sequentially you would need to average better than 4 min per puzzle which would be difficult under any circumstances. On the whole, it was a fun activity. The place is still new and I think it has a lot of potential. Hopefully they will continue to modify and improve what they have already done. read more

This is a rating for the "kids version." Overall it was a decent experience. I took my teen and pre-teen nieces and nephews so we did the modified "kids version." This may have been part of the problem since the puzzle is based on a horror movie none of us were familiar with so a lot of the connections between clues made no sense. When everything was explained at the end, I felt a bit frustrated because our odds of being able to solve the puzzle were minuscule given the scenario. As other people noted they clearly mark with orange dots things that are not part of the puzzle. Some of the clues were really clever while others could not possibly be deciphered without using hints. At the end we were told only about 20% make it out. I know it shouldn't be too easy, but that seems really low. They are adding some other activities that sound more kid friendly so we might return. read more

We had such a great time doing the swat room. The game was explained to us very well. This was our first time doing an escape room so we definitely needed good directions and we definitely got it. The room was excellently designed and definitely gave us all a challenge. We had an hour and it flew by with the fun we were having trying to get and solve the clues. A definitely must go. Highly recommend!!!!! read more

Great experience!!! Went with a group of 6 of us and was placed with another group of 3 people we didn't know. I was skeptical at first but it was easy to work together and build as a team. we did the detective room and didn't make it out but if you work as a team it really helps things "click" Staff was helpful and straightforward Theme was fun and different Clues were hard and interesting and not corny Phone number provided on website is text accessible and made communication very easy when signing up for room. Overall amazing experience and will be back! read more

This was amazing. The guy who ran it was honestly invested that we had a good time. The price point is great because there is a big discount to come back to finish/redo if you want. The clues are clever. Some are easy and some more difficult. Can't rave enough. read more

We did my daughters 13th bday party here. The girls had a blast and the adults did too. The staff was so helpful and kind with the girls. They are all still talking about it. The place is so clean and nice. Thank you for making my daughters birthday. read more

I've done both "the other side" and the "SWAT" room and they're both a lot of fun! We did the SWAT room for my fiancé's birthday with his friends and they all had a blast! It's very interactive and challenging and it makes you feel like you accomplished something when you figure out a clue lol. The staff is very nice and very helpful and answers your questions right away. I usually dread planning a surprise birthday with 16 people but the escape room team made it an easy process with something different and fun! I would recommend it to anyone! Side note: one of his friends had done an escape room elsewhere and said it wasn't half as fun as this one ;) read more

I do not often post reviews but this experience was so unfortunate that I had to let other potential customers know what they are getting in to. We scheduled a mobile escape experience for a kids birthday party 4 days ago. We were told that it was appropriate for 9-10 year olds. The organizer came the day of the event and as he set up, it was clear that the tasks were really geared for adults. When I asked him about it, he said yes, these puzzles are oriented towards adults and the hints that he can offer are for kids. Hmm, not what I was told to begin with. I would have preferred to know this in advance. The game master though was pleasant and the kids had a nice time with lots of adult assistance. So, just be aware that this is not a kid oriented activity. The most concerning part of the transaction though was the billing portion. I provided my credit card information for a deposit originally. I spoke to the game master before he left the event that they can go ahead and charge my card for the balance. He did not say anything to the contrary and so I assumed it was taken care of. I received a call on a Monday (the day after the event) saying they needed to complete the billing. I called them back on Tuesday once again authorizing that the card could be used and that they can call me back. No further calls, so I assumed all was taken care of. Two days later I received an email indicating and I quote "At this point we will be forwarding this to collections. After today, the balance will be due upon the date of court schedules". I responded to this email indicating that I left a message on Tuesday and no one called back, so I was stunned by this email. The response was that they left messages and could not contact me. None of this is accurate. One call and one email later, they are threatening to go to collections. The follow up to my last email was and I quote " If you would like to settle the balance that would be great! However, if you would like to drag this out, miss work and most likely inconvenience yourself and you would rather proceed legally that is not a problem as well. Let us know by the end of the day. " This is 4 days after the event and an obvious failure of the manager to follow up appropriately. When I called Jeffrey to give him the information once again, he was, as expected rude and hung up on me. I am also a business owner and in 17 years, I have never had this sort of interaction with a client. I suggest you all proceed with caution. I have done several escape rooms and had a ton of kids birthday parties. This is absolutely the most obnoxious experience I have had to date. read more

What a great way to spend some time with family or friends! Creative genius. The setting and clues were well thought out down to the last detail. We were 9 people and we had a blast! Well worth the money. So if you are looking for something out of the ordinary to do, you won't be disappointed!! read more

This was my first time trying an escape room and I wasn't disappointed! Such a fun idea, and so well put together. It was a great way to spend an evening with friends and family, and made for a much better interactive night than going to the movies! We had a blast, and I would certainly try it again (it was much more challenging than I had anticipated!). read more

So much fun, and the host was great friendly. I would definitely recommend going. Not much I can say without spoiling it. It's very challenging and it had some surprising elements. Be ready and bring your crew. read more

We had a fantastic time! Wasn't quite sure what to expect when we got there. From beginning to end the staff was friendly and helpful. Went with 3 kids aged 12-16 and paired up with another family with two younger kids. Initially I thought the puzzles would be too difficult for younger kids but they dug right in and were able to power through the majority of them. While we did not escape within the allotted time we came very close and the kids (and adults) had a blast. The instruction was very helpful particularly the guidance about having to work as a team. Everyone was able to solve different clues and age had no bearing on solving some of the more difficult ones. Will definitely be coming back and recommend going if you are looking to do something different. read more

We had a great time with all the puzzles and surprises! Sad that we couldn't get out in time but the hour just flew bye. Will definetley be back. The escape room was run professionally and you can tell a lot of thought was put into the room. read more

I booked for my birthday at 1:45p.m. and paid for my tickets. They made an error and overbooked the escape and refunded the amount I paid through PayPal, 10 hours later. So not only do I not have plans for my birthday I have to wait three business days for my refund. I tried insisting that this was unacceptable and this is what I got: So sorry about that, as we said unfortunately these things happen. No one is perfect not even machines. Have a great day and a happy birthday! Really?? Horrible customer service. I will try the Adventure Room in Montclair. Wish me luck. The lack of customer service and efficacy has me bummed. No other birthday plans. Don't trust them something is wrong with their system or someone isn't doing their job.! I wanted to add that I received a call later that day and they made everything right!! They booked me for the last slot and reduced the fee tremendously! I will be going again it was the most fun I had in a long while. read more

This was an awesome experience! It was just my boyfriend and I. We had so much fun especially with our "third player" Janice- our game host. She was amazing, she actually made our escape room experience 10x better. She's a great employee, when it was time to take our picture, she took time to explained all of the activities that the establishment offered. It was such a great time, we're planning on going back to try out other activities and plan on tagging our friends along! read more

Went to escape the room with a couple friends and really enjoyed it. Would recommend to anyone who is down to have a good time. The other side offers lots of mind teasers and its right in Hackensack, easy location to get to and parking to go in and out with ease. read more

The "Detective" at this location is a reasonably challenging one-room escape that primarily tests your ability to find and solve clues to unlock about 15 alpha and numeric codes that help your release. It is far from a fancy location, like some we have tried, that have a nice waiting room with games and drinks to enjoy. This one brings you upstairs and leaves you standing in a narrow area, outside a bathroom, while a very enjoyable game master fills you in on the details. Their facilities could use some work, but their game master had great energy and helped us in a fair way as we requested our 3 clues. Pre-arrival logistics were perfect (sent via text), we started on time, and were paired with a mom and young daughter, who helped us out significantly. So this room is one that you can bring kids (maybe 10+) to enjoy. Price-to-value is a little steep, they ask $25 per person and even more for a private room, but in the end, we were pleased with our experience and talked about it through lunch. A solid Saturday afternoon activity. read more

amazing place to have fun try to find it before you park. Would definitely recommend for a great time

I have done a couple escape rooms and wanted to do one for my sister in law birthday as she has never done something like this before. We were very excited as the previous escape rooms were very fun and level of difficulty kept us busy but interested. This was not the case for this room euphoria heist was very difficult for 7 of us. I wouldn't say we are new to escape rooms but we definitely understand the concept. It took us 15 minutes to find the door as we couldn't understand the instructions due to static. Second when we walked in the room we spend 5 minutes trying to figure out how to cover windows and doors with a rod and curtain. This had nothing to do with the game yet our clock started. There was no instructions as far as an order in what to do things. We kinda just walked in there and press buttons until things just happen. Towards the end of the hour we struggled with an item that didn't work as was suppose to. The host had to help us. The hints were given when ask and was very hard to understand through walkie talkie. The host even gave us 5 extra minutes and we didn't even make it half way. Things didn't make sense or add up we were just aimlessly walking around trying to find solutions. Overalls the idea is fun but I wish they had maybe a list of task or directions as other escape rooms. Maybe puzzles and task that involve less on knowledge and more on common sense. I was very disappointed. Maybe it was just two hard for us but as per host no one had ever completed the room and that says a lot. Recommend for those who like a challenge and breaking their heads. Other then that it's not fun when you are lost and confused as to what to do next. read more

Came here to celebrate my bday. Had a group of 16 people. Staff was great! Very helpful, attentive and understanding. Love the fact that you can text to communicate with this establishment. It made my life so much easier! Unfortunately I was running late (story of my life :), but our guy accommodated which I was very grateful for considering it was clearly noted as a no no. (Thank you again!!!) The room itself is VERY challenging. My group did pretty well considering it was a first for many of us. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back to try our luck at the new SWAT room coming soon. I highly recommend. Come prepared for a challenge. I've been to this place twice. BOTH rooms were incredible and SO much fun. They're hard, but the puzzles and clues and keys and EVERYTHING are wonderful. Really gets you thinking. The SWAT room is poorly planned out and worse-it's worn out. I have done several other escape rooms and all were fun and entertaining. This room was frustrating and boring. The clues don't make sense-when you can read them-they are so worn out making that nearly impossible. An example of the lazy owners -they put a sticky on broken glass in a drawer saying "don't touch broken glass" instead of cleaning it up! The clues have little to do with the ultimate goal and we were actually relieved when it was over. Do not waste your money on this room. read more
