I signed up to visit this place with my cousins the night after Thanksgiving. This was the most difficult escape room I have visited thus far and it happens to be right in Bergen County. We did the horror room, which had a few good scares, but nothing too bad. The game was pretty lock heavy, featuring many different combination locks for us to figure out using clues hidden in the room. Unlike other places, this escape room marks objects that have nothing to do with the puzzle with an orange dot. I have mixed feelings about it. It is frustrating when you mess with something that has nothing to do with the game. But these dots also makes it much easier since anything without an orange dot is clearly something you should examine. Despite this we were still unable to escape the room. I would definitely return once they open up some new rooms

Came here with my boyfriend and friends to give a try and see if we could escape. We did the VR experience, which if you've ever done VR anything is exactly the same. I of course couldn't just walk the plank but had to jump instead. I guess I died because I ended up in an all white room. They also do a hatchet throwing thing (not VR, closed-toe shoes required) but we didn't do that this time. The escape room part was pretty fun. We were paired with another group of 5 or 6 women (10 of us max) and had to find our way out. We made quick work of the room and made it out in 43 mins. I thought it was fun because your brain is automatically forced to quickly decide whether something means anything or not and if it does how to utilize it. Having others in the room (besides your group) adds different points of view and more eyes/hands to figure things out. I had fun doing it and would go again to try the scary version.

We did not Escape the Otherside Scary Game but we did have an awesome time!

hopefully you're familiar with the awesome fun that are Escape Rooms! If not let me tell you about them, these are rooms designed for you to go and with your friends or your team and attempt Escape or win by successfully completing the challenge. Imagine a real life video game without the electronics and all about interaction, yes no cell phones! I have been to quite a few Escape rooms and this one is by far the best. they don't require you to book online which means they actually let you talk to a live human being who answers all of your questions and explains the different scenarios as well as all the other activities they offer. As this is the first escape room that I've ever heard of which offers lots of other awesome activities that I can't wait to check out like those big giant inflatable ball that you go into and the game show called Minute to Win It. We got a private room with 9 people which cost $280 and let me call the last minute as I had a cousin that came in from out of town and really wanted to add in men we mentioned that we didn't care how much it costs as long as we could do it so they threw the extra ticket in for free ( that's me and my cousin in the picture). Seriously! When you get there the place doesn't really look very impressive however once you get inside you realize that there's more than meets the eye to this place. one of the first things they ask you to do in Escape rooms when you arrive is to use the men's and women's room which in this place his through a huge room that they use for one of their other activities. I clean restroom is always one of the things I look for as I think that says a lot about any business not just restaurants, and they passed that test, in fact they had superheroes painted on the walls, SWEET! the game we played was the other side scary game. It wasn't overly scary to me however the girls in our group might have let themselves. I was concerned that they would spend too much time trying to scare us we should take away time from our game and that wasn't so at all. The game was a lot of fun and although this particular game was there a low-tech game so it didn't have a lot of electronics it had some great surprises and some very, very unique challenges without any spoilers all I'll say is "Ouija Board!" Our game master was great with an energetic and enthusiastic introduction he explained the game to all of us and then during the game he was very attentive as any time we asked for a clue he would respond almost instantly. Everything in the room worked as it was supposed to which shouldn't be taken for granted as if you have played as many Escape rooms as I have, you will know that things often are broken or just don't work as they are supposed to. At the end the game master gave us an opportunity to come back for something equals Redemption for a 50% discount or he would tell us the rest of the game. I've never had that option and thought it was pretty cool although my group voted to find out the rest of the game anyway. After the Escape when we went out to dinner everyone couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had and I believe we're going to book their other room that's called the SWAT team room for the next birthday party we have. I will update the review Once I try that out but from what are gay Master says that room is high tech, even more fun and even harder than the one we played. Plus he said that they have a new room coming out next year which is supposed to be the best out of all over the rooms they've done. if you're in the area and want to check out an awesome escape room definitely check these guys out and let me know what you think!

I swiped this from their Facebook page since they had no pics and you can't take any once the game starts. =)

We went as a group not sure what to expect. Had a blast! It's both innovative, challenging & exciting. There was never a dull moment. 2 of us came from Florida to visit and agreed we would want to do this again when we come back. I have to add the staff are amazing and the owner Jeff is hands on making the experience even better. A lot of heart & hard work goes into everything they do. **We had 11 people in our group & a few of us had not met everyone prior to showing up. ** which was not an issue at all.

I have experienced some really good ones and some really bad ones-- Puzzle Out and Grand Theft Jersey City would rank in the top of the middle. On Friday night, we booked a room for 10 of us friends for the following Saturday Night. I was surprised they had availability for their 10PM session. I gave the room a call first to ask if it would be possible to have a private game since there were so many of us. It worked out because they have two of the same rooms-- a walk in came so they were able to put them in the other room. The website says that up to 30 people can play in this room (which is CRAZY) but I don't think that's correct. 10 in the room is the perfect amount. The game itself was fun. I haven't done one where there was more than one objective (i.e. to get out and get more money). There were a few broken/notworking elements which essentially hindered our overall performance (if we were able to use it properly we would've gotten out). The debrief at the end was also a little unorganized. All in all, I'd come again or go to their Hoboken location to try another room.

Neither of us foresaw this and we were both looking forward to attending prior to becoming ill. I am aware that there is a $30 rescheduling fee (which seems high, as each of our tickets cost $30 as it is) but I thought that illness might be an exception, especially as this rash is highly contagious and I did not develop the blisters until this morning (the day of the booking). Unfortunately, upon calling, the employee informed me that his manager could not authorize the waiving of our rebooking fee. I honestly find this to be ridiculous! When exactly does the manager find a situation necessary for the fee to be waived!? Only after someone dies? Am I really expected to come in and participate, possibly infecting all those I come into contact with and while in pain? My husband and I are first time parents and live in Jersey City with no nearby family. We literally had this date night planned for weeks and it was devastating enough just to have to reschedule it, let alone find I needed to cough up ANOTHER $30 just to schedule it for another day. I am not made of money as it is and have to budget out the things we do paycheck to paycheck. Not only do I not have an extra $30 on hand, I also feel strongly that it was not fair or just to expect me to pay. I honestly feel like the manager I spoke to had no empathy or compassion for my situation and when I expressed my frustration with him and ultimately told him I planned to communicate via the website and other online forums about my feelings he smugly told me to use my freedom of speech and hung up the phone. I am now out $60, with no experience, and feel like I've been treated like a dispensable piece of garbage. I will NEVER give my business to puzzle out again and will specifically seek out alternative puzzle room companies to give my business to in future. I also plan to provide an in depth review of the company and how I was treated to every website I can find. Your employees should really be trained to have more compassionate toward their customers and attempt to treat people with more genuine respect.

Lots of fake blood, creepy clowns, and even some jump scares built in. Definitely use your brain and think outside the box!! The puzzles were really unique. The only feedback I have is some of the puzzles were a bit wonky probably because a lot of people have been touching them so there are things that should be tuned up or fixed. Trying not to spoil so I'll try to be as vague as I can while giving feedback. So there's one puzzle where you have to smell things but everything smelled like the same rotten/rancid smell so my team members and I content differentiate the scents and had to randomly guess instead of actually solving the puzzle. There's another puzzle where you have to turn something but it was wonky from wear and tear and the tracks on them were worn down. Paul was our game master, and did a great job. He also said this room was the hardest one and the scariest one out of them all.
