We were in town visiting family and I love Escape Rooms so thought we'd try this one. Our group had some Escape Room veterans and first timers (including kids) and we all loved it. I've done a number of rooms elsewhere and looks for 4 things - all of which this room had. 1) Great staff - the girl who ran our game was fun and energetic. Helpful with hints without giving too much away. 2) Interesting Puzzles - We did the old west ("find the gold") room and there were a number of wonderfully interconnected puzzles that I hadn't see before. 3) Well Maintained - there was a slight two minute technical issue before we started but no big deal. Fixed right away. The mechanical puzzles all worked correctly, locks unlocked when they were supposed to, magnets unlocked properly, etc. 4) Challenging without being so hard you don't have fun - we made it out of the room with 21 seconds left. Woo hoo! The puzzles were tough - forcing you to think back to things you found early on, but we were never totally lost and frustrated. All in all, as someone who has done many rooms in the past, I'd rank this high in terms of quality, fun and great staff. read more

We had a team outing at Escape Room 101 where we completed one of the VR escape games. It was easy to book our reservation and we were able to get going right on time after we arrived. The experience was better than we had first thought. After sitting in the virtual world for a few minutes, I found myself ducking under objects that I knew weren't even there. The game was fun and entertaining -- something I'd suggest for work teams, families, or friends to enjoy together! Each VR game is limited to 4 people, but with the two rooms side-by-side, we were able to have our group of 6 split into two teams. We played the same game and competed to see who would finish first. We chose to do 2 escapes, one in VR and one regular, both back to back. VR was awesome, the sound effects and graphics were great! We want to plan the next visit already!! The regular escape room puzzle was very good too, we needed a larger group for the brain power needed. Will definitely do another combo night again!! read more

Mostly good experiences here. Some technical glitches that kind of dampened our latest visit. I'd recommend the cowboy room here but I definitely don't recommend the hangover room. I've done 8 or so rooms and the hangover room is the most poorly thought out of them all. Staff is always super friendly! read more

My husband and I both really enjoyed this night out together! This was our first Escape Room, so I can't compare it to others, but tonight was fun, challenging, and the staff was friendly and professional! We originally planned (and reserved/paid) for 4 people but our friend got sick and couldn't make it. We didn't even have to ask for a refund, they just immediately gave it to us. I'm a pretty frugal person, and to pay $20+ for an hour of entertainment isnt something I do easily. But I'd do it again for this experience in a heartbeat! read more

Awesome experience with the VR room with two of us. Takes up to four players. First experience with VR and was super easy to adjust to. You wear this backpack jig, goggle head piece and hold two controllers for hands. Different, fun and a good experience. Will be back for the other VR games. 3 total. read more

My teenage sons and I have done many escape rooms and we thoroughly enjoyed The Hangover at Escape Room 101. The theme was fun and the pace was perfect. There were many little puzzles to solve and especially along with the well-timed clues, we felt consistently productive and entertained. It turned out one clue had been screwed up by the past group and that slowed us down a bit. Often there's a point in an escape room where you are stuck and just end up sitting there for a while. We never experienced that at this room. A number of clever mechanisms we hadn't seen before and a very helpful staff. Also they let us sample the VR rooms, which were incredible and we can't wait to come back and do one! read more

Challenging=Fun! My group and I decided to do the hardest room, the "Baker Room". It was definitely difficult. However it made it so much more fun and challenging. You really need the creativity and whits from your entire group to complete it! It had so many unexpected features and was so exciting! I recommend!! read more

We have done Escape Rooms in the past, we tried the Dragon Egg Room and has an amazing time. The rooms are clean and more high tech. The people there are helpful and so nice. We will definitely be back to try another room. read more

We had a great time!!! Everyone enjoyed the experience!! We had our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren (ages 7 & 9). They can't stop talking about it. The kids just keep going over the clues so they can figure out how they could have figured it out faster. It was fun to have to work together to solve the clues. My boyfriend and I had a blast here doing the Hangover Escape Room. We aren't experts at these rooms by any means, but our experience was made harder by a couple things. Very obviously, no one wants to break anything in these rooms, but some of the objects in this room required you to take them apart. So naturally, it required explicit hints for us to risk deconstructing items. Other things were just extremely sensitive and you had to have something JUST right for things to work. Finally, there was one challenge at the beginning that had so many interlocking clues that I'm amazed even hints could help us out. In other words, it needs a little work. Regardless, this room was really fun and escaping it was beyond rewarding. We will be back! read more

We did the Baker Street room and it was super fun! It was quite challenging, but the game master sent us the perfect amount of clues. The room played up the Sherlock Holmes theme and made you feel immersed in the time period. A few of the sensors in the game didn't work, so the game master paused the game to come fix it, but he was quick and not intrusive. All in all, it's a great location and a great price. 10/10 will come again to do another. read more

I have never been to an escape room, so can't compare it to anything. But I can say that the man who greeted us and showed us into the little room was not wearing a mask, and even though all of us had one on, we were taken aback by him not wearing one! Then you just sort of start in, no real idea of what to do. There is no order to what comes next, it's all just a wild guess. I found it very frustrating and a couple in my party were determined to figure it out, so they worked at it. But we had our 25 year old autistic son, and I was trying to make it fun for him. It was a lot of being patient and hoping the others figured it out. It was very claustrophobic in the first small room, but much better when we did something that opened a door into a bigger room. Two of the people with us said that they had been to other places that were better organized, more like a scavenger hunt where one thing led to the next one.... read more

I've done a great deal of escape rooms and this is the first one to give me not just one bad experience, but two bad experience. The first time I went for a friend's birthday and we did the Baker's Street. The second time I went for a work thing and we did Hangover. I don't really prefer having to be given the clues/hints to escape the room, but it's just the way they set up their rooms. I didn't mind it, but both times I was here, they failed to pay enough attention to give us the correct clues at the correct time. In Baker's street, they gave us a couple clues to things we've already figured out. In Hangover, they even came into our room to tell us we did it wrong. They then proceeded to tell and show us what we needed to do to get a certain door open (mind you, we've already done all the steps they showed us). Basically, they just weren't paying enough attention to us(I don't blame them because they have other games going on, but then if that's the case, make the game independent from host given clues). In addition to this, some of the workers who dealt with us were rude. I had tried to ask a question about why a certain clue in Baker's Street was backwards and they became sarcastic with me by saying "Well it's been a really long day! Fine, we will do it again, THE RIGHT WAY". I totally get having a bad day, but I just didn't appreciate how he kind of took it out on me. When the worker came in during Hangover, she basically said commands to us and just seemed super annoyed with us. We all kept silent in respect to her, but we all agreed that she was super rude to us after she left. The rooms were cool and all, but some clues were just not completely thought out, in my opinion. In the end, my groups escaped Hangover and not Baker's Street. I am sorry to Escape Room 101, but I don't think i'll be going back here due to some of the rude workers and the lack of attention. :/ read more

Horrible experience. None of the puzzles made sense or had a real flow. We had to get help to connect A lot of the clues because there was no indication they connect. There were no sounds when drawers/cabinets opened to indicate that they opened, the magnet triggers were very clearly not controlled in the room so things in the first room would open the second room with no connection between the items (ie changing time on clock in 1sr room opened cabinet in another room). With less than 10 minutes left we started to get a bunch of clues we had already gotten 10+ minutes prior and spent the rest of our game being led astray even though we repeatedly said we already had gotten those clues. Apparently our game master left at that point in the game to use the restroom. We found this out because when the manager came into explain the rest of the room he told us "sorry the girl had to go to the bathroom and asked me to cover and I didn't know where you guys were at in the game." He did not offer an apology or anything to compensate for our ruined experience. Apparently we only had 2 puzzles left and had we gotten the correct clues we would have escaped. It was my moms first escape room and I regret telling her how great they were based off of this experience. It should have been a fun time and instead we left annoyed and confused and irritated. Worst escape room in Arizona. read more

We signed up for the hardest room - and it lived up to the challenge. The room was small, but well put together, and the clues well done (getting harder and harder as the game progressed). Some answers weren't working correctly - so the staff needed to place hints on the screen which was a bit of a bummer - but not enough to keep the experience fun. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend for a fun night out with family or friends. read more

Had a great time with my 2 kids (12 and 13). We tried the wild west theme escape, and although we didn't escape, it was a lot of fun.
