We had such a fun time at Escape Room 101 doing The Chocolate Factory room with three adults and one 7-year-old! At first, we were a little skeptical since the room is rated a 6/10 and has a lower success rate than some of the others but we're so glad we came! The room was creatively designed, and the puzzles were challenging in a good way. We ended up using all six clues, which definitely kept us on our toes, but it was still accessible enough for our son to participate and enjoy the experience. We finished with 38 seconds on the clock! The staff were also incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. It was such a great way to spend Mother's Day, and we left already talking about which room we want to try next. We will be back! read more

Room was absolutely freezing, and only half of the puzzles worked. We did one of the puzzles perfectly correct, but it wouldn't work. The guy took almost 15 minutes before telling us we did it right, we just had to pick up and put back down something. Speaking of, the man was very odd and creepy sounding when he spoke. The gore in the room was also not the best. Scared my 12 year old child to tears. Very small cheap room, the escape room on high street is way better in every way. Room included a jump scare where a painting opened and something jumped out of it very quickly and loudly. They must have let a dog in there as well, as we heard an extremely loud dog in the room next to us the entire time, completely ruining our immersion. Flashlights didn't work. read more

Decided to find something fun to do with a team while in town. They have many room themed options and we couldn't decide if we wanted to do the VR room or the traditional room. Since 2 of our friends have never experienced the escape room before we decided on the traditional room. But the staff had us test the VR while waiting for the rest of the team it was one of the coolest experiences! We ended up choosing speakeasy because it's medium difficulty and we barely made our hour time. The hints were helpful and we had fun! Would definitely want to come back and try the VR one. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVCIE. SERVICE WITH ATTITUDE. I have been coming here with my daughter and friends for 2 years. The man that runs/owns the place is always helpful and pleasant. However, today we popped in bc we couldn't book certain rooms online and wanted to find out why. This blonde woman w two or three bull nose piercings was the rudest person! even my TEENS said "whoa, she's so mean maybe she should quit bc she certainly doesn't want to work there". Her answers were snotty, obnoxious and plain rude. If you don't want my business, fine by me. Plenty of these places around. I have played 10+ rooms here btw. And as a result of how my family was treated, I will be going to the escape room up on the 17 near Atnthem now for sure. They are cheaper, always pleasant and helpful. read more

Just tried the Barber escape room and it was pretty confusing. On the bright side, it was cleaner than our last experience and staff was decently friendly. Definitely a cute room but needs better hints/layout. Also, it's quite confusing, but this company has two locations, in the same plaza but on separate ends of the plaza. There's one by the Carlos O'Briens and one by the Ashley on the end. This is NOT communicated well. read more

Great escape room company! The rooms are well themed and clever, good story lines as well. Best thing I feel is you can bring your kids and they are willing to give extra hints if needed so that you can solve the puzzle. If you don't need the extra hints don't worry they won't give them either, but with kids it can be frustrating to not finish a room and they always give you the opportunity to finish the room which makes it an enjoyable experience every time. read more

Overall was an OK experience. The service was great, the people in the front were were good. We accidentally went to the wrong location and they redirected us appropriately. The room experience was kind of average. We did the magicians apprentice room. we do escape rooms on a regular basis. And are definitely more experienced than the average person. We felt that this escape room and particular was pretty straightforward and linear puzzles and we felt like the decorations and weren't as high-quality as other escape rooms that we have done in addition to the story. we also had two mishaps in the room where they had to intervene due to puzzles breaking. And one puzzle was not fixable, and we had to completely skip it. read more

Room was fun enough, but numerous objects that were supposed to be triggered by magnets didn't work. We would have escaped, but multiple things that were supposed to happen, but didn't. The staff's response was "things happen sometimes" and that "as magnets get old, they stop working." I'm ok with this, but there needs to be a certain degree of upkeep to keep these rooms engaging and entertaining. Such a great time! This was my mom's 1st Escape Room and I am so happy to have been successful. We chose the Hangover room. This was recommended for beginners. It was only myself and my mom and we were able to complete the room successfully with just a 2 man team. Objective, you and your party need to find and solve the clues in the room to find the Escape Button to escape the room...in this particular case, to find our missing friend "Teddy". We wake up, hungover in a hotel room and had to find clues all over the "hotel room" to figure out where he is, and what happened to him. Super fun! Especially if you love puzzles. It was tricky and stumped us a few times along the way, but we always were able to figure our way. It was hard and frustrating at times, but always in good fun, never to the point of wanting to quit. Each clue you solve, leads you to another clue, until you find the way "out of the room". Of course you are free to call it quits and leave the room at any time so don't feel trapped. Lol. A few of the items had moved off its original spot and confused some answers, but luckily the game master saw the issue and pointed us in the right direction on the TV screen without giving it away. They watch you on cameras from another room. There is an option if you get too stuck, for too long you may ask for a hint but only if you ask and it's a minor hint. The Escape Room location is inside a Shopping Plaza with a Bowlero, in an understated space that looks almost like it could be an office outside. It's a simple establishment with what appeared to be 5 or 6 different rooms, but I appreciated that. Not too chaotic and very friendly staff. We went on a Thursday @ 7pm and we were among the only few there. Unlike other Escape rooms you, are actually only doing the room WITH YOUR PARTY. You wont be forced to work with strangers, and especially with COVID, that was appreciated as well. So even more of a reason to give an Escape Room a shot!! You can find all the different Escape rooms on their website. They have a rotating sort of schedule so different rooms come and go, currently there are about 7 to choose from, from different skill levels. They advise each skill level for each room and you also book online. Easy to see what time slots are open through their website. Don't be shy and have a blast! And of course don't be hard on yourself if you don't make it out in time. This was my 3rd escape room and my 1st one completing. read more

My husband brought me here for my birthday last night. We did the murder/mystery room and we had so much fun!!!! I can't wait to go back and take our friends to the chocolate factory room next. The clue master was very helpful and responsive, without giving too much away unless we were in a jam and needed guidance. The murder/ mystery room is a little more advanced, so I'd call and ask where to start to get into the groove of how it works and then come to this room when you're a little more aware of the patterns and how to work the clues. I have been to plenty of escape rooms. This was by far was the worst experience, the puzzles were completely random. I don't think anyone could've ever gotten out of this room without a clue from the puzzle master. We left the experience, feeling frustrated and annoyed even after the puzzle master explained a couple of the things that we got tripped up on, they still did not make any sense to me, I would never go back here find a different escape room if you were interested in doing that in Phoenix read more

Several other escape rooms in the valley have a more theatrical setting, the Hangover room was just that, a boring room. The activation of devices didn't work 3 times where the room monitor needed to pause the game to get the items to appear. Very second rate. read more

My girlfriend and I attempted the Speakeasy and Game of Thrones themed escape rooms. This was my first time trying out an escape room. Both rooms were timed at 60 minutes, though they gave us a bit of grace time when we cut it close. The atmosphere of both rooms were high quality, and the puzzles were clever and intricate. There were few lock and key puzzles, and several included sound or knocking, lasers and magnets. The designer had a strong grasp of aesthetics, puzzles, and craftsmanship that make all of these rooms click. I can say that I'll certainly be back in the future! read more

rude staff, confusing location, mid gaming my partner and i were in town on vacation and wanted to do something fun near the area that we were staying. we found this place online and booked using their website. we arrived to the spot the directions gave us to find a sign telling us that our specific game was at a completely different location. not being from the area we had some confusion driving around trying to find the other building. when we finally arrived there was an old man with grey hair and glasses at the counter who did not greet us. instead he looked over the desk seemingly annoyed and asked us what we wanted. we let him know we had booked a specific time slot online to which he sighed and told us how late we were (15 minutes) i explained the confusion in finding the separate location but he did not care and walked away to set up the game in the back. we awkwardly waited in the lobby and while doing so we could clearly hear him talking sh*t about us to his coworker for being late. at that point it had become more trouble than it was worth and we didn't even want to be there anymore but since i had already paid online we were gonna see it through. inside the room the man gave us the run down of how it works and informed us of a short video they would play to give us some insight on the game "it will not affect your game time" he said as he closed the door. a clip was never played and our timer started maybe 5 seconds after he left the room. we have done escape rooms before and the game itself was not hard, but the puzzles were not cohesive in the sense that one thing did not lead to another. maybe the clip in the beginning makes the puzzles make sense but for the most part we were just stumbling across the puzzles and nothing really flowed into the next step the way it usually does in an escape room. you get unlimited clues/hints as long as you ask but we had to ask 4-5 times for clues before we actually got one (if we actually got one) definitely could have completed in our timeline if they had actually given clues when we asked the first time. i can only assume they were just pissed and taking their anger out on us the whole time for being late and normally i would care but in this case it's pretty wild to be upset when you have two separate locations and no specifications warning you of this anywhere but the front door. read more

The room itself was freezing cold and many of the items were broken, making the experience super frustrating. For instance, we solved one of the puzzles but it didn't release the prize...the game master had to pause the game and come in to give us the next clues. The room itself didn't seem to have any flow to it. You were just dropped in the room and we ended up needing several tips in order to get as far as we did. I wouldn't recommend this. read more

After a Friday night Happy Hour, a group of us decided to give an escape room a shot. Some of us have experienced escape rooms before but not at this location/business. Unfortunately the rooms were booked as you can imagine on a Friday night, so be sure you make reservations if you are interested in playing. The employee informed us they had another location within the same shopping outlet that hosted VR escape rooms (virtual reality) and we should give them a try. I wasn't really interested but we gave it a shot. I must say, this was one of the best escape room experiences I have ever played. The VR really immersed yourself into the game and you feel like you are really there. Our group decided to play the Medieval one (I can't remember he name) but it was crazy fun! I won't tell you anything else or it would spoil the experience but you have to give this a try if you love escape rooms. I'm definitely going back to play the other VR games. I haven't done as many escape rooms as I would like, but I love them. It's so much fun to solve different puzzles. I had high hopes for this place after seeing they had a Baker Street themed room (other themes that day were the Hangover movie and cowboys.) The decoration was nice in the Baker Street room, keeping with the theme. However, it really annoyed me that some of the puzzles required the staff to be watching to see what we did - it took some of the fun out of it for me since they weren't realistic puzzles. For example, one clue required us to actually clap our hands, after which something unlocked. I thought that was ridiculous. I heard similar things from the group in the other room. Other escape room places I have been to did not rely on this type of clue and puzzle, hence the three stars. Other than that, the experience was okay. Staff were friendly and the doors weren't actually locked so we could leave any time if we wanted, which was a plus. I also don't know how much it was since we came for a work event - if I had paid out of my pocket for the ridiculous puzzles, I would have been upset for sure. read more

We have approximately 100 escape rooms under our belts and this is easily one of the best escape room companies in the Valley. We did all 6 rooms they have to offer and they were all fun. I personally feel The Diplomat's Secret is the stand out but my boyfriend says it's the Speakeasy. What I love so much about this place compared to other locations is the quality of his puzzles. It's not just opening padlocks, they're unique puzzles with lots of fun technology. The only negative thing I have to say is we ran out of rooms and will have to rely on my lack of patience to get me through for when he turns over a room. My cousin and I went last night and had a BLAST!!!! It was my first time at an escape room and I have absolutely zero complaints! First off, the young lady that greeted us and took us to the chocolate factory room was great! I loved her demeanor, she was bubbly, and very friendly! She executed the instructions very clearly and I felt like I was actually sneaking into the factory! She was very personable which was a big deal to me because she set the tone to our experience! The actual process of the escape room was exhilarating because my cousin and I have different strengths that complimented each other as well which helped us a lot! Or maybe it was the hints that the young lady gave us when we spent too much time on the wrong items (Thank you by the way!) We got so excited opening each new lock, opening a new door, and solving new puzzles! We finished with about 9 minutes left to spare when I believe one of the managers walked in to congratulate us. That was when we stopped jumping for joy and contained our excitement haha! We took pictures and chatted with the guy for a little before we left with the biggest smiles on our faces! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes exercising their mind and is into this kind of stuff. I understand it's not for everyone, which is why it's important to go with the right people. Good escape room with lots of themes to choose from. Not the best I've been to, but overall still had a good time. The quality of the props was middle of the line and the activated doors/drawers/picture frames etc. had lots of wear-and-tear from years of plays. This is mostly an aesthetic complaint, but the condition of some of the clues caused us to miss the triggered sounds we needed to identify without a clue. With some tender love and care, the rooms could be upgraded to help compliment the atmosphere and experience. read more

We started off by coming in to do one room on a Monday afternoon - the chocolate factory. The manager was less than pleasant over the phone. When we arrived, thankfully we had a nicer employee help us set up and handle us. The chocolate factory was super amazing! Would absolutely recommend it! When we were done, since there was no one else, we asked to do the dragon egg room. The manager allowed us but again, not thrilled about it. I honestly HATED this room. It made zero sense and no connections really. The poor employee had to keep giving us clues. Once we were over that room, it was 720 and they do the last room at 8. So we asked if we could do another one and the manager said no; that they were closing. Clearly we bothered the manager by being there and didn't want to make an extra $100 in sales. Drew was amazing but screw the male manager who wouldn't even take the time to come out of his office and ordered his employee around. If you don't like you're job, leave! read more
