So I thought Erwin's was doing a good job until I found 20 + BLACK WIDOWS in my yard. I had to quit counting it was so bad. We called and spoke to a supervisor and he could care less. They've been servicing our home for years on a monthly basis so there's no excuse. We have two very small children and most of the black widows were found where they play. Also we have lots of pets as well. They raised their prices recently and the quality clearly isn't there. I found a great company elsewhere. Lastly I do want to say, Kathy was always so sweet and kind and professional when we called for billing. Keep her and reevaluate your supervisor and technicians. read more

Saw that I had an unwelcomed four legged guest. I called Erwin's yesterday around 11 am. Keith came out by 3pm. He asked me questions about said the "guest" then set up traps for it. He also showed me how to set it in case of false entrapment. He gave me the rundown of how everything worked. Before 10pm that night, said unwelcomed "guest" was escorted off my premises. When I had a bug infestation in my bedroom, my first response was to call one of the larger companies. Terminix offers "free estimates" but only if you're going to pay them to do the job? Orkin said they'll have their people call me back after hearing about my problem and they never called back. I did call a local company in the past and they just sprayed around the area which killed the bugs but it did not get rid of them. So I finally got desperate and called Erwins Pest Control. They're a family-owned business and very friendly people. Instead of doing guesswork, they sent out a specialist who came out to inspect the surrounding area and collect some samples, he spent about 30 minutes at my home. Two days later, they sent another specialist out to explain to me what the insects were and he pulled out light switches and power outlet covers to show me where my problems were coming from. He spent about 45 minutes in my home and this was all just a free estimate with no obligations whatsoever. I was shocked to learn that the estimate was only $40 to eliminate the problem (compared to the Terminix price of about $125 just to spray around the area). Well, he came back the next and did it and my problems were all gone. They are very professional, the two guys (probably the only two guys that work there) were funny and approachable. No tattoos, noserings, gang markings, and etc. They didn't smell bad or use foul language. Just think of middle-aged college professors in clean mechanic's clothing. The part I liked most is that they didn't try to sell anything, it was like they came to address your concerns and that was it, didn't try to push a monthly package or anything of that sort. We agree with the other 5 stars reviews. Pest control is not a complicated service. You need someone who is prompt, good with communication, thorough, not messy, and basically unobstrusive. The techs from Erwins are all of these. Plus... they are a locally-owned business in Clovis. They respond to spot requests... no problem, as well as unique pest control issues. We've long dealt with seasonal box elder bugs (red back, flying insect) that get under your feet and are hard to control. Very very good customer service. We had an unusual pest control problem in Madera. Pigeons roosting in the eves of the house. Rob did an excellent job by safely evicting the pigeons and placed deterrents (spikes) to keep them out. Very friendly staff and kudos to Rob on a job well done!!! read more

Then we read the reviews, all bad. Fortunately we were able to stop service we with them before it started. So, thereafter we found Erwin's. We spoke to rob about our pest control problem, he was very polite and knowledgeable. He knew what we were talking about. At the time we needed one for that same day, luckily he had an opening. I am writing this review in response to an unfair, immature and disrespectful bad 1-star review. given by my neighbors to this professional and caring company and employee. My family lives in Woodward Lakes where their is a lot of spider and pest activity. Everyone recommended Erwin's Pest Control. When the technician arrived he introduced himself very kindly and professionally then proceeded to ask me what problems I was having. He actually took the time to explain things to us. He also took the time to acknowledge my children and ask them their names and if they had any bugs in their bedrooms.(it was so cute) When we got to the backyard he was greeted very loudly by my dog. (what happened next was awesome) He then knelt down and pulled out a dog biscuit from his pocket and gave it to her as he pets her. She doesn't let anyone just pet her like that, he does a great job when he does our service, I don't want anyone else doing my service. This technicians name is "Keith". WE LOVE HIM! So naturally, I was confused when I read a bad review about Erwin's Pest Control and about Keith. Especially since it was from one of my neighbors around the corner. I asked about what happened. He told me and my husband how they were asking him to treat their yard for a problem they didn't have. They also asked him to get the webs around the windows, which he did. Then called him back out after 2 weeks and complained that he didn't do anything because the webs came back. He said he tried to explain to them that here in Woodward Lakes there is a lot of spider activity that the webs will return before their next service. (My webs come back before my next service all the time and the same for all my neighbors) After he said that, they told him that they don't want to hear excuses and to just do his job better. (OMG how rude and disrespectful, he is trying to help and explain/educate not give excuses) They also asked him to de web the windchimes and he told them that they don't do windchimes. Btw I asked other pest control company's if they de web windchimes and "none of them do." They also complained that they only got about 18 minutes of service.That's about how long it takes him to do my service also. (what is there problem?) That's not the end of these clowns. They then asked him to use the hose on the truck instead of his backpack. After he informed them that they don't use spray hoses anymore and that it was disabled, they got upset. (you don't take your car to the mechanic and tell him what tools you want him to use to fix your car. stop telling him how to do his job.) Later on, they called him back out "again" because they had ants on their lawn. My neighbor said, "they were on the bones we gave the dogs". Keith then laughed kindly thinking the guy was kidding. (who would through bones on their lawn thinking there's no chance you won't get ANTS?) My neighbor then said, "why is that funny?". Keith asked: "you're just joking, right?" My neighbor said, "NO, I shouldn't have any ants because that's what I have you for." (ARE YOU KIDDING ME? HOW IGNORANT CAN YOU BE?) They then told him how "they never met someone who failed at the there job so miserably." He has been doing this for 15 years" Obviously they have a "complete misunderstanding about Pest Control and their expectations are too high." Which explains why I have seen 2 other pest control companies at their place since then.(how ironic) No one can please these clowns. After asking around the neighborhood about these jokers, it turns out that others have had their own personal experiences with them and they are all just as "pathetic". Most of them wish that these clowns "would just move". (take the hint) Just because you have a physical or medical problem that causes you daily pain is no reason to treat other people like crap. Judging from some of the other bad reviews these people have written about other company's, it sounds like if they just don't get there way then they will write a bad review to try to hurt you and make you feel bad. "it's called a TEMPER TANTRUM." There is nothing mature about a temper tantrum (not to mention how embarrassing it is when a grown adult has one) Well to these jokers and unfortunate neighbors of mine this is your scolding. A little humility and being more "CHRIST LIKE" would serve you well. I hope these people don't have children. Because the last thing this country needs is for people like this "breeding" and teaching their children to make decisions without proper information. In other words based on "ignorance". We have a bad spider/general bug problem at our house and called Erwin Pest Control months ago about it. They gave us the initial consultation for $80 and then told us they would come out every month around the same date for future spraying for $40 each time, and that they would call us before showing up. Every single time since the initial consultation, we have had to call them because nobody contacted us to set up a time for them to come to the house. Every time we call we get waved off with an "oh they'll call you soon!" when they were supposed to have called a week before. As of right now it's been nearly two months since the last time they came to spray and we haven't heard a peep from them. I'll be finding another pest control company. read more

One word, AMAZING! The winter weather and lack of sun brought a terrible ant problem indoors. We had ants in the living room, bathroom, and kitchen. I thought the problem was never going to end and was referred to Erwin's by another friend. There is so much to say about Erwin's. The first impression was wonderful because I called the day before New Year's Eve and spoke with Rob. He answered the call himself and I was already impressed after waiting for days to hear back from Orkin. Rob informed me of everything he would do to take action and reassured me that my very spoiled dog would be safe. I told him I wanted to talk to my boyfriend about the price and he wasn't rude in anyway or pressuring me to stay on the phone to get my business. Rob was nice enough to come out the next day on New Year's Eve and even asked to come out early in case I had NYE plans. Rob came out for the initial meeting and to familiarize himself with his customers. Right off he informed us that our house was not in his treatment area and another one of his employees would be helping us. When that time came, a letter including the employee's name, picture, and nice personal information was delivered to us. It told us that he had kids, length of time employed with Erwin's, etc. Soon after, their office sent a hand written thank you card for being a new customer. BIg impression in my book as my parents always made us write thank you notes. Gratitude is always noticed! The office is always good about calling ahead for my monthly exterior treatment. This is important as I wouldn't want any accidents to happen to my dog. I've heard sad stories of pets lost when gates are left open. Recently, we started working on the yard and have disrupted the ants again. We found more ants returning to the kitchen and asked Erwin's to come out again and the treated the walls without charge. The nicest part was that it's spring vacation and our service man was on vacation, so Rob told us he would be out the next day himself! My boyfriend and I have always enjoyed their service and this personal trip out of Rob's way was an added pleasure. This local, self-owned company is the way to go! read more
