This will be a mini review because I just had a brief (but incredibly positive) interaction with this business. We got back from vacation and there was what appeared to be a small-but-definitely-new wasp nest in the corner of our front porch. Not wanting to mess with it, I sent a photo to JAR Pest Solutions via Yelp and asked if he could come remove it. I've had an allergic reaction to wasp stings in the past and didn't want to take a chance. Joseph replied within one or two minutes (so fast!) and explained this was something I could easily remove myself and explained how to do it (and it was safe for me because it was just a mud dauber nest). He advised me not to waste money on an exterminator. So.... I have an incredible amount of gratitude and respect for a busy professional who takes the time to tell me I don't need his services. Bed bugs, ugh! I thought I had bedbugs, turned out I didn't, whew! When I called Joseph he picked up right away, I think he could hear the stress in my voice and came To my house the very next morning. He was so thorough and shared so much information with me, Not only about bed bugs and how they travel but other critters. He took his time, Listened to my concerns and addressed each of them. My in-laws had some mice running around the inside of the house. We knew Joe from work he had done, so he was the natural person for us to call. He placed a few glue traps and a few snap traps around the house. The glue traps caught them within a couple of days. He came by every couple of days to check the traps. When a week went by without any more sightings or caught mice we agreed to conclude our service. We did refer him to my brother who has a black widow spider problem in his yard. If I could give 100 stars I would! We realized we had a German cockroach issue in our kitchen, mainly under the fridge from dog food falling under it. After trying to get rid of them ourselves, we finally decided to contact someone. The owner was able to come out within a few days. He sprayed the inside and outside & left some traps in the house to see what our population looked like. Since he came, we have had no more issues with cockroaches in the house! Joe is a great, honest guy and does a great job at bug removal. He knocks down cobwebs too. He took care of an ant problem we had in. He comes every couple months to keep up on the bugs. It was very easy to award him 5 stars. Joseph, the owner came. He went up into my attic. He gave me the disappointing news that he couldn't seal up the attic due to a roof that doesn't have underlayment. (From past experience, I know that can't be fixed without installing a new roof.) He told me that while there were signs of rats having been there previously, it didn't look that bad. He said that so long as I placed traps myself in the attic, they would likely catch the rats. He suggested using a few traps. I could place them near the entrance to the attic. The rats would travel to the food. I should use peanut butter as bait, he said. I showed him the area inside the house where I have one mouse I can't get rid of. He told me that I actually had the traps set up correctly, but I should try switching bait to the fruit he's been eating. He explained how to seal up a hole in the wall behind the oven using wire mesh. He was supposed to charge me $50 for coming out. He told me that since he couldn't help me, he wasn't going to charge me any money. I'm sure I could have insisted he place traps in the attic and that he take steps to catch the mouse. But that would have cost me money for things I can do myself. He suggested pre-baiting--using bait before setting the mouse trap or rat trap. Get them eating regularly out of the trap before setting it to go off. That's because both mice and rats are cautious. I realized I forgot one thing: He also told me that I needed to trim the trees around the house. Although I have the trees already trimmed so that leaves won't fall on the roof, I didn't have it trimmed so that a rat couldn't simply step from a branch onto the roof. I just made a quick attempt to fix that, although doing a more thorough job will wait until it's cooler. read more

We moved to a new house on the outskirts of Clovis a few months ago, onto some land that had not had a regular pest service done to it for quite some time from what I gather.
