Ericka does phenomenal work! My dress was strapless, heavily beaded, and with multiple layers. It needed taken in at the waist and bust and the petticoat needed sewn in, plus a bit of a complicated bustle. As an added customization, I wanted beading to continue up to the V-neck mesh. She made me feel like all of this would be a breeze to do. I felt extremely comfortable leaving my dress with her, more than anyone else. You can tell when talking with Ericka that she has an expert understanding of materials and techniques. Needless to say, I left with my DREAM dress. On my wedding day, not once did I feel uncomfortable or like I needed to pull the dress up, and I got SO many compliments. I came Erika to have my wedding dress fitted. It really just needed to come in the bust, other than that everything fit well. I really loved working with her. She was super flexible with my schedule, always polite, and is very reasonably priced. She will not over charge or try to push you into anything. I really wanted to give 5 stars but I can't. The morning of my wedding as I went to put my dress on I noticed the beaded overlay was not attached to the bodice. I am so lucky to have had my grandma with me because she was able to hand sew it on. I didn't get a picture because it was a really stressful morning but I would suggest looking over everything super thoroughly before you leave her home. She was so easy to work with and she made our dresses fit us beautifully. I had a very limited selection of dresses to choose from because I was set on getting a long-sleeved gown with some spice. So, when I found a long-sleeved all lace Israeli-designed (Berta Bridal) dress that was almost what I wanted (but still needed a lot tweaking), I knew I needed to find an amazing seamstress. I started to research the alterations recommendations that the bridal boutique suggested, but they had ~3.5 stars with some scary reviews. Then I asked my wedding planner if she knew of anyone and she immediately responded with Ericka's contact info. She gave her a glowing review, but I was hesitant because I live in Redwood City and she's out of Salinas. Nevertheless, I contacted Ericka and told her what I was thinking and wanted to get her perspective. She was very thorough and patient throughout the entire process. I've posted the photos below of Ericka's work, which included replacing all of the lace/applique along the neckline and back of the dress with a completely different lace, changing the belled sleeves to a fitted style with buttons, removing the strap along the top of the back of the dress and replacing it with a strap along my lower back, buttons down the entire back of the dress, and the normal hemming and fitting of the sleeves. I am an EXTREMELY picky person that focuses on the most unnecessary of details. I also don't work well with sales-y people that try to convince me that I'll like something that I'm on the fence about. Ericka understood my neurosis, and - even though she provided me with many suggestions and her honest opinion - she wanted to make sure I was happy. I mean, how many seamstresses would drive to my hotel (from Salinas to Carmel) the afternoon before the wedding to add some more lace to the dress? All of my married bridesmaids were floored when she showed up and got right to work. Ericka also designed and made my cathedral length veil....I seriously wish I could wear it every day. If you are questionable at all about who you should choose as a seamstress, I can't tell you enough that your search should end with Ericka. She is worth her weight in gold. read more

Erika made a velvet shirt-jac for me. I must tell you, this garment looks so elegant. It screams, "I am not mass produced!" Outstanding tailoring is what I was looking for and I got it! Yes, I am picky although probably not as picky as others. I have had four other tailors make my clothes, but none quite as skillful or committed as Erika who does take the time to ensure that the fit is what it should be. Ericka altered my wedding dress for my August wedding. I bought it at a consignment shop so the dress fit my body fairly well, but it was too short and the cups were too big for me. Ericka did amazing work taking some of the delicate lace and satin from the train (she had to take off the train to take material from where it attached to the dress so that the finished edge was still the same) to sew on the front to extend the length. She did such nice work making it look natural and as if the dress was always meant to be just the right length for me. She also put cups in the bodice and removed some of the ribbing so that fit me just right as well. Because she was so adept, her prices for this work were incredible fair and reasonable.
