The women who owns the place is very nice and she does great work, however, she is the only one working there so the turn around can be a little slow and it's not safe to assume that she'll always be there during her normal briskness hours. Azita is incredible. Upon purchasing my wedding dress, it was large in some places, small in others, and needed a lot of work because it did not fit. At All. I was so nervous about getting it altered due to the many areas that had to be worked. I knew it had to be someone very skilled and artistic, as well as patient. I found AZ and initially brought in another dress and my husbands dress pants, dress coat, and shirts. She did an amazing job on those items so I knew she'd work magic on my dress and wow, she sure did! Though I can't even remember all the areas she had to alter, it included the arms, shoulders, mid section, butt area, shortened the train, and added a bustle. I can agree... her work is immaculate. When I found my wedding dress it was the last one, it was on clearance, and it was too big (by a lot). I loved the dress so much that I bought it. I really wanted to change the neckline from a straight across strapless to a sweetheart, but David's Bridal wouldn't change the design, so I started shopping around. With all the layers and the beading everyone was quoting me at $600-$700. Then my friend told me about the place she just took her dress too (she did a ton a major changes) and said it was a more reasonable price. I saw her before and after photos and was stunned. I took my dress in and got it taken in about 2 full sizes the first time, then since I lost some weight had it taken in another size. Had the neck line changed to a sweetheart, had the length shortened, and had a bustle put in. My dress has about 4 layers that had to be altered and she hand placed the lace and beading for the new neckline, and on top of that she said some of the beads were loose so she tacked them back down. All for $375. I was amazed!! Now my dress fits like a glove and I am ready for my wedding in 18 days!!! read more

I moved to PG last September and used A-Z because it was close to home and convenient. I first came in to have some pants taken in at the seams. I had to bring them back twice because it was not done correctly. The next time I had to have the same work, again I had to being it back because of the same reason. She told me she would have to charge me if I brought it back again. This was her error not mine. In November I brought more things to be altered and she told me they would not be ready until some time December. It took her over 2 weeks to complete the work. After the holidays, again a brought items in to have work done. This was on 1/5/21. I dropped by 1 1/2 weeks later and she told me they were not ready. I stopped by again a week later and she told me that they still were not ready. This was on Wednesday 1/18, and she told me for sure that it would be done that Friday 1/22 but that I should call first. I called that Friday and Saturday but the place was closed and I left a message to say I wanted my cloths. (I guess she does not work regular hours.) I left a message to say I would be in on Monday 1/25 to pick it up no matter if they were not done. I called again on 1/25 and she told me that it would not be ready until after 3:00. It was obviously still not done. I said I would be there around 2:00 to pick it up as 3:00 was not convenient for me. I now live in Marina so I go out of my way to come to her store. When I got there, I asked her why it took over 3 weeks to complete the job. She became angry at me and said she was alone and it hard for her to complete some of the work. I'm not sure why she was angry at me, I was the one who was getting poor service. Most other places have a 1 week turn around. If she is backed up she should tell her customers that it would be delayed. Her work was just ok. The items I brought in were simple repairs like having seams stitch and a couple of pants shorten. Also her prices are very high for this type of service. I will look around for another place to give my business. I will not be back to A-Z. I suggest anyone to think twice before giving her any business. Very unprofessional. read more

I rarely get anything tailored but when I do I will definitely return to A-Z Alterations. The lady who works on clothes is simply amazing at her job. She takes great care to ensure you are happy with the final result and the pricing is fair and logical. She is also very sweet! I had a suit jacket completely taken in on multiple panels to fit me, pants taken in a small amount on the waist only and a bridesmaid dress hemmed and fitted. She also makes face masks for Covid protection- I bought a couple for my significant other and myself. People keep commenting on how comfortable and well made they look, definitely pick one up as well. She used 100% cotton for the masks and multi-layer. read more

I like the owner who works there because she is a nice person. But my problem with her is that she never gets my alterations done on time. The last alteration I brought to her was at the end of May. She said it would be ready on June 18th. I went to pick up my jacket (that only needs to have the sleeves shortened) on the 27th, a week after her promised day, and she hasn't even started to work on my jacket yet. Now that I had to drive home and drove back the next day, wasting my time and gas just because she couldn't manage her schedules properly. This is not the first time this has happened to me. I always tried to be understanding. But I don't understand why she keeps taking jobs but couldn't finish on time like she promises. She might be good at what she is doing but my patience of dealing with her repeated empty promises has reached to an end. read more

This place is phenomonal at making alterations, especially for wedding gowns. First off, I unintentionally bought my dress in a size 12 and needed her to turn it into a size 8. She did such an amazing job that I was able to take it home on the first alteration. What she did: took in the sides, which is really difficult because of the rouching and lace applique, shorten the straps, trimmed/hemmed the entired dress from long flowing A-line to mermaid style. I highly recommend her if you plan on having your wedding dress altered. Also, I dropped off my dress on Dec. 14th and she had it ready by Jan. 26th. I've been cursed with a short, round body. So unfortunately buying pants can be quite difficult. They're always too long. My solution for this in high school and college were to cut them off myself and run around with frayed bottoms. Then I got a professional job and realized it was time to dress like a grown up. Thus A-Z Alterations to the rescue. Unfortunately I have no idea what this lady's name is, but she's very friendly! I've brought in lots of pants for shortening and she once altered one of my shirts and everything has always come back perfect. Her turn around time is a couple of days, but I think she'll take rush projects. Prices depend on the project, and I think they're quite reasonable. I can't remember exact amounts, but I know it's cheaper than where my friend takes her pants in Chicago haha. read more

When I bought my wedding dress, it was a 12 and I am a size 8, at the very largest. More like a size 6, actually, and I called her up and asked if she would be willing to do my alterations. I had to have it taken in (which required the whole thing to virtually be taken apart and resewn), it had to be shortened by 4 inches, and I also wanted a bustle. This was a very large task, and I only had one month to get it done. She was up for the challenge and let me tell you, it fit AMAZING! Like it was made for my body! I still get compliments to this day about how amazing my dress was, and I have her to thank for it! Thank you thank you thank you! You do amazing work!! I highly recommend A-Z for your alteration needs. Azie altered my wedding dress for my October wedding and I was very pleased with her work. She shortened the bottom, took in the waist a bit (including an intricate beaded belt) and added cups. She is very nice, thorough, and made me feel very comfortable. I had an initial appointment in late August (don't forget to decide on, purchase and bring your wedding undergarments to the FIRST appointment!), a second appointment in September where we decided to make one more small change, and then picked up the dress 10 days before the wedding- it was pressed and ready to go. I was pining over a Veda leather jacket that had been sold out since winter of last year. It was extremely expensive and impossible to find. So when I finally found one on eBay I had to purchase it! Unfortunately, it was one size too big. I usually take my leathers to a different seamstress but because this was my dream jacket I wanted the tailoring to be perfect! I asked around to friends who have had high-end clothing altered and I was told to go to A to Z. I brought my jacket in and explained to her I wanted it to fit like a glove and I also needed it in less than one week to wear to a wedding. She was so friendly and sweet, especially to my one year old who wanted to play with all her equipment. She fit me and even though she was super busy she said she would work on it overtime so that I would have it in time for the wedding. I picked up the jacket and when I tried it on I couldn't believe how amazing the fit was! Her attention to detail was incredible! I think I actually squealed! Bottom line, she is super sweet, her work is impeccable and I am now a customer for life! I should also mention she charged $200 to do the alteration which I believe is a fair price for the quality and time she puts into her work. I called two places before calling her and they quoted me about $120 to $150. She was a little pricier but she also had to hem the sleeves, take out the lining so she could creat a new seam down the back to tighten it, and altered the side seams as well. I feel I could have saved $50 going somewhere else but I know for a fact the quality and fit would not have been nearly as good! read more

She does good work, but I had a few issues. I went to her for a wedding dress alteration. Here are my takes: One, she was really hard to understand. Not so much of an issue in person, but she called me several times for appointments and I'd get off the phone not knowing what I had agreed to. Two, She works on her own time. She has business hours, but when I tried to make a few appointments she'd tell me that she likes to sleep in or didn't want to work that day. She also called me to reschedule appointments a few times. And when she called, she gave me some options of when to come, I'd tell her when I wanted to come, but then she said that wouldn't work for her. So basically I had to pick the time she wanted me to come. Ugh. Three, its NOT cheap. I had some simple alterations compared to most wedding dresses and I ended up spending more on the alterations that the DRESS ITSELF!!! Four, she does do a good job. Even though it was $$$$ and a pain to deal with at times, I'm happy with how the dress turned out. read more

I am completley impressed with this alteration place! Long story short, I bought a dress online for a huge event and of course I got it overnighted with the date about 5 days away. I try it on, it's too big. I called the next morning to exchange it for a small and they said they were sold out of my size. I was frantic and I thought what am I going to do? I looked at other alterations places but I decided on this one. I figured since she has experience with wedding dresses, I could trust her with my dress! I called Tuesday morning, and left a message, the lady called me back the same day around 4:00 and told me she would be there until 6. I flew over after work, got it fitted and asked if I could have it done by Friday. She was sooo sweet and so helpful she had it done on time and yes it did fit like a glove! I think her name is Azita or something like that. But wow, if you have a dress that needs to be altered, she is your best bet! I did think it was expensive though, having never really altered anything in my life... but let's just say it cost more than the dress. But I'm so pleased with the work that I am going to wear it for different occasions! read more

I'm so very happy and impressed with this woman's work. I bought my wedding dress off the rack in San Francisco and needed some MAJOR alterations - it needed to be taken in a few sizes; needed to be more mermaid-shaped; converted from cap sleeved to strapless, sweetheart neckline; hemline had to be changed; bustle created; and a lace strap needed to be created in back for support (due to the low back). And all these things needed to be done to a beaded lace dress! I had 2 fittings and she was so sweet throughout the entire experience. I looked at 3 other places in the area before coming here, but I felt I could trust her the most with my dress, plus she gave the best price. Very nice lady, makes you feel comfortable. She is understanding and knows just what to do with your clothes. The only downfall, she's expensive! She claims she's giving a discounted price, but just a simple hem of jeans is $15-25. Taking off some length on a summer dress cost $35. Adding cups in a swimsuit top, $25. I'm looking forward to getting my items back, because of the other great reviews, I know my clothes will look great, but at those prices (my total was well over $300 for basic clothes, nothing formal or too fancy), I can't bear to pay those prices again. My alterations were amazing!!! I had many garments altered and made for my wedding and each item was well made in a timely manner and looked fantastic. My husband's kilt was altered to fit, my wedding dress altered twice as Iost weight and how she got my lace bolero jacket with too tight sleeves to fit perfectly I don't know. She also took extra kilt fabric and made bridesmaid sashes, sock flashes and a gorgeous ring pimlow for my page boy.
