Franco and his family are lovely, warm and friendly people, and I do appreciate that they have made an effort to address the concerns I had regarding the shirt and slacks that I ordered. Ultimately, however, my experience with Franco has not been quite as satisfactory as that of the many other customers who have written reviews in this forum. Given their premium price point, I am disappointed in the outcome. I ordered a shirt and slacks in mid-to-late October, hoping I could take them with me on our holiday vacation, which featured a fancy New Year's Eve party at the end of the trip. Somewhat unusually, Franco took measurements for the shirt using another shirt, not using a measuring tape as I'd expected (and was accustomed to from working with other custom tailors). And when my order arrived, the shirt fit badly (the slacks were well made and fit as expected) -- it was really tight across the upper chest and body, and the sleeves were too long. I gave this feedback to Franco while I was wearing the shirt in the shop and he advised me to take it home and wear it a while to see if I got used to the fit. This was not exactly the feedback I would expect from a tailor of Franco's experience. I ended up coming back in again and seeing Mina, Franco's daughter. She agreed to make the shirt again, and took new measurements (this time with a tape measure and a sample shirt in the right size). The remade shirt was to be delivered after the holidays. I expected that I would be notified when it came in, but was not. After I called and learned that the new shirt had arrived, Mina asked me to come in for another appointment with Franco; I told her that given his response the last time I came in, I wasn't confident that was the best use of my time. Instead, I asked them to ship me the shirt, and promised I would come in if it didn't fit properly. After some additional back and forth, one of the team dropped the shirt off one evening a couple days later. To my disappointment, the fit (though much improved) was still not quite right, as it's still somewhat tight across the test. Mina has asked me to come in again to see what the shirt looks like and to see if they can adjust the fit. I haven't had the time to do this yet, but will make another appointment at some point soon so we can try and get this shirt adjusted so that I can wear it out of the house. read more

For my wedding I decided to get my own suit made and I found Franco Masmoa. I loved working with Franco and his daughter Mina. From the start they made me feel welcomed as well as made sure all my choices were the correct one from the patterns to the color. I went with a classic black and white suit with bow tie. As a bigger guy, it's always tough finding the right fitting clothes and I wanted to make sure this suit was perfect for me. I wanted this suit to go with my wedding but outside of that, I can use the pieces for outside of the wedding as well. I decided to get a "treat yo' self" gift after a recent promotion. I knew I wanted something lux and had considered a designer handbag or jewelry but that's not really my thing. I was thinking about a wardrobe refresh and for "personal stylist" searched on yelp and found Franco Masoma's page. My husband had previously purchased a suit from Franco a few years ago and had a great experience. I wasn't sure if they would do womenswear so I messaged the page on yelp. Within a few hours, I received a response back saying yes they could do women's suits and asked for my number. I started texting Mina and set up my appointment. Mina has been accessible via text. It made it super easy and convenient to schedule appointments or just be updated on the progress. Anyway, they had not really done womenswear but were super open to it. They bought a sample suit for me to try just so we could have something to go off of. I was looking for a basic black suit and we picked a really nice fabric. I also decided to get a white button up. What I loved about choosing the fabrics was that we were really customizing the suit for me. The buttons, accessories, lining are chosen together to fit my style and personality. I ended up going basic with the white shirt but had a special collar and pink buttons. For the suit we added a detailed button. It's those little touches that really make the whole experience special. Suri, the tailor, is amazing and has really perfected her craft! It took about 3 or 4 fittings to get the final product. But I never felt rushed or told that it looked good when there were things that could fixed. Have you ever been to a tailor and just felt like they wanted you to take the product because it was "good enough?" I did have not have that feeling at all. We were all in agreement when this or that needed to be fixed. At the end of the day, they care how good I look and feel in the clothes and will do whatever is needed to get there. I loved the way my suit was looking so I decided to get another one! The pants fit me like a glove so I got the same fit in a different color.
