I have doctors in the family who i often rely on , but Dr. Munro is sharp , witty at times with a good joke and on me to take care of myself . I feel compelled to write this review after reading some of the negativity. I'm a very healthy individual who rarely sees a physician. It had been long enough that my general physician retired (Dr. David Haas) and I needed to find a new one. My parents insisted that I give Dr. Munro a try, whom they have been seeing for several years (testimonial) While I've not had anything serious to diagnose or treat, I found Dr. Munro to be engaging and considerate. I recently had some blood work done and I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from Dr. Munro on a Saturday to let me know the results looked good and I had nothing to be concerned about, that he would review the details when I was scheduled to see him in 2 weeks. It was a professional courtesy call that I was not expecting. Dr. Munro does have a quirky sense of humor which connects with me. I'll certainly update my review as I see necessary, but at this point I'm happy to call Dr. Munro my physician. His offices are clean and I've enjoyed interacting with his staff. read more

Dr. Munro treated my son-in-low with "migraines" instead of referring him to specialist. He prescribed Vicodin.. Those unprofessional acts caused a brain bleed due to a hemorrhaging brain AVM! Dr. Munro prefer to talk about his political views and believes during people appointments instead of listening about their health issues. It was happened to me every single appointment even my believes are different. He didn't bother to ask.. Dr. Munro is absolute paranoid about Covid and/or get extra paid for diagnosing people with it. He is participating in research group. He believes that even your tests are Negative you still have Covid. No other health issues exist for him. Everything is Covid related. I had high blood pressure episode which is normal to my age group and I'm overweight. Came to the office to get prescription meds. Instead Dr. Munro yelled at me that I came to office with Covid. I had mask on. And my test is negative. I left office while he was yelling at me! No medical help. He yelled that everyone should wear masks at home when you in contact with family!!! Unbelievable. My daughter delivered a baby two days ago at Cedar Sinai Hospital where she was checked for Covid. Negative! We are in close contact all the time. I watch her older kids. Everyone is fine. But Dr. Munro yelled that Negative tests don't mean anything we all are sick.. and my blood pressure is a proof of it.. weird weir doctor. Definitely should be reported to State Board read more

This internist is a Public Health Specialist. He has misdiagnosed me twice - one was a fracture. When Covid showed up, he said he was dumping all patients that were not vaccinated. That was the last time I was in his office. My father sees him also. He is 98 and has dementia. He hit a pedestrian and Dr. Munro refused to sign off on his driver's license revocation because he didn't want the legal responsibility. (His words.) I've been seeing Dr. Munro for the past few years. Happy with his medicine, but all I get is his lecturing about how bad the GOP is and that their science is BS. I thought after I told him on my last visit that I was on the right that he would tone it down. Went in for a visit today and got 15 minutes of the same old thing, maybe he didn't understand my message at that last visit. I will be looking for a new primary care doctor. Update: Dr. Munro took it upon himself to treat my stepson's "migraines," rather than refer him to a neurologist. Dr. Munro declined to order any imaging studies, in spite of disturbing symptoms. On Tuesday, my stepson presented at the emergency room with a brain bleed due to a hemorrhaging brain AVM. (His mom also had an AVM.) It will take a while before we will know the long-term/ permanent effects of the brain bleed. This life-threatening development could have been prevented if only Dr. Munro had ordered the indicated imaging studies ... or had referred my stepson to a more qualified physician. read more

I will NEVER go to this doctor again. My mother goes to this doctor so I went a few times and each time was HORRIBLE first of all this doctor's solution to everything was always to prescribe me a pill for it. I told him I was so stressed and Im scared its taking a toll on my body. He proceeded to prescribe me anti depressants. Never filled it because I hate pills. I told him I didn't want to and he filled it "just in case". He also proceeds to judge your line of work. Which is none of his damn business. Then another time I got in a car accident and I was so worried I ruined my shoulder. It hurt so damn bad and he said I'm not going to get you a cat scan because you didn't get rushed to the ER and just prescribed me anti inflammatory and said it would just go away. When I finally did get at least an x-ray I got the damn bill before the results!!!! Are you kidding me?! And then when I asked for my results the staff didnt even realize they never received the results from the other doctor. What the hell! I was so pissed. They dont even follow up but want the money. I finally got a cat-scan from another doctor and my rotary cuff was torn!!! So he is wrong and a pill pusher. He was too lazy to get a scan. He judges wether you can pay for it not if you need it. They are the worst practice I have ever been to. So un organized, judge-mental and a PILL PUSHER! Stay away he thinks just because he has rich patients all the time hes a good doctor but he is the worst doctor I have ever been to. The know it all that pushes pills for money. Hes going to end up in a documentary about a malpractitioner seriously. He lost my x rays and asked for the money before he got my results, then pushed pills on me and also judged my injury incorrectly. Which I have proof from the other doctor and all the history of prescriptions Dr. Munro tried to push and I never filled. He is the reason people avoid going to the doctor and end up putting it off and dying because they are so uncomfortable and feel judged going into the doctors. That is not his job. Dr Eric Munro? Wow, what a rude guy. Don't let the other reviews here fool you - this doctor has a very dark side. I had a scary reaction to some meds last night and called Dr Munro's office in the early AM. I stood by for his call pretty much all day, as I'm supposed to take these meds everyday - so I tried Dr Munro's office again at 5:45pm - hoping they hadn't left for the day. Vanessa asked me to "hold" as she tried to get me some sort of a response. She returned to the phone and told me that Dr Munro said to go to the ER. (So... I waited all day to be told to go to the ER 7 hours later?) I asked Vanessa to please have him call me, nonetheless, whenever he could. At 6:45 pm, an exasperated, impatient Dr Munro rang my cell - it sounded like he was being put upon to speak with me. He said that "if all he did was counsel patients over the phone, he'd never see anyone". I did all I could to keep calm and explain what happened last night. He proceeded to tell me that I was "one of those very demanding patients" that thinks that he's my slave. I couldn't believe it. It was such unprofessional conduct by a doctor. As I further tried to ask for his help and explain - he then blamed CVS, for "screwing up prescriptions 80% of the time". No matter what I asked, it seemed to keep coming back to CVS. (Geez, Dr Munro's office has called in at least 20 prescriptions for our family to CVS... Why wouldn't they say not to go there before now??) Unbelievable. I'll stop going on... although I could say more. Bottom line... Dr Munro doesn't care about his patients. He's incredibly sarcastic and completely disrespectful to his patients. I'll continue to fill my prescriptions at CVS, but I'll be searching a more caring, even-tempered doctor in the future. read more

My physician is Erik Von Hagen who reminds me a lot of Dr. Oz in regards to his personality. Just when I had given up on finding a good medical doctor this place came along. We've been seeing Dr. Munro for years and now our teenagers see him. Today, I had an urgent situation with my daughter, called Dr. Munro and got a stand-by appt. immediately. We were seen within 30min. of arriving and I was so thankful because they were busy. Dr. Munro is very caring and takes time with all of his patients, he never rushes and answers all questions very thoroughly in laymans terms....not Dr. language. Dr. Munro seems to be more proactive with his thinking....not pushing you into taking meds. that aren't necessary. The staff at Dr. Munros office has always been very sweet as well. Everyone is courteous and the waiting room is pleasant too. We do have other Drs. closer to our house, but Dr. Munro is worth the extra drive, I feel we are in good hands with him. Eric Munro is not just a superb physician, he runs the most efficient and professional operation I've ever seen. A wait of more than 5 minutes is unusual. His staff is incredibly well-trained and his follow up is like nothing I've experienced. Cannot understand any of the negative reviews unless those patients didn't like his recommendations, but at least he isn't arrogant about it. He tells you what he thinks, but it's up to you to decide what's best for you and MOST important he listens! Almost unheard of these days. However, the most impressive quality of Dr. Munro is that it appears that for him it's not all about the money. He calls you with your test results, as opposed to requiring you make an appointment so he gets more bucks back. He gives you choices with the costs and basically tells you if the cheaper method is as good as anything else and it usually is. He's often said that we could do this procedure or another one (read: more bucks) but at least with me it's "we'll check this again and see." He's been very candid about how some procedures make the doctor a ton of bucks and some don't and basically says he doesn't work like that. If you're not used to a doctor with a sense of humor, go somewhere else and get reamed. This guy is the real deal. read more

What I find engaging about Dr. Munro is that he actually works WITH you. He listens, asks questions and factors in your feedback. You work with him in your your own care. By default, I got Dr.Munro when his partner left his practice. The first time I saw him, I was seen by his physician's assistant. She was nice, but it would have been good to actually see the doctor. When I walked past him, he just looked at me like he wasn't sure who I was. (Of course! I'm a new patient of his!). Never once smiled or looked at my files to know I was a transferred patient. Dr. Eric Munro is a young, friendly, professional doctor with a specialty in internal medicine. He went to Hopkins! This makes him a great primary care physician, but what really makes him a great doctor is: 1. He takes time with patients like me who have lots of questions, you'll never feel rushed even when you know the waiting room is packed. 2. He is always up on the latest medical research, sometimes even referring me to medical journal articles and printing them for me to look at! 3. I second the message about "what a rude guy". But that wasn't the worst part. My mother was under his care for several years. At one visit he complained "people are living, longer and getting sicker--how am I supposed to take of them." She complained of abdominal pain, and he gave laxatives and several new prescriptions. More complaints, more meds. When she became very ill Dr. Munro wouldn't see her. "Go to Urgent Care" Then, after two emergency visits to the hospital for bowel obstructions he said to her: "Medicare is welfare- you can't just keep going to the hospital for the same thing! I know a guy who wouldn't take his meds and the hospital wouldn't admit him". Then he said: "I TOLD YOU NO DAIRY! I HAVE IT WRITTEN RIGHT HERE! NO DAIRY!" My poor 80 year old mother was traumatized. I finally got a referral to a gastroenterologist and guess what? Stage 4 colon cancer! Not only did he totally miss it, but he was brutally rude about it. Writes prescriptions more than any doctor I know. He doesn't care about the individual and only cares if he can write you a prescription because that is how doctors make their money. I have been seeing Dr. Munro for years and he again today worked me in for an urgent visit with weird chest issues. He is always very careful but never gives up trying to get me to lose weight with helpful tips I do not follow well enough. His office is great always great at drawing labs, he did a chest x-ray and EKG on the spot and he was with me an incredibly long time to make sure things were good and to keep me out the ER (though his staff tried to get me to go to the ER I did not want to so they worked me in!).
