While my wife was undergoing treatment, we repeatedly called Dr. Lee's office to her to exchange health records with the hospital and talk with the attending physician. Dr. Lee was unwilling to make a single phone call to the hospital. According to the attending physician, Dr. Lee's staff told him "she doesn't have time to take a phone call and there's nothing to talk about." That is what he wrote in his clinical notes. We all know that most docs that take insurance are all stressing about making sure they see and take care of their many patients. Not always an easy task, especially when docs themselves have bosses to answer to. The whole health system can be hard to navigate for all of us. As such, I did have a miscommunication with Dr Tarpley, through no fault of either of us - just one of those miscommunications that can happen to us all, despite best intentions. Much to his credit, when he was alerted to my concerns he took the time out of his weekend and a special family celebration to call me and we were able to discuss my medical issues. He also made sure that from here on out I know exactly how to get in touch with him. He did not "need" to call me as promptly as he did, but he made the time. Despite arriving while Dr. Miller was still in, she never came out to assess him, nor did she or her team respond to any of our messages or calls. Over a week later, and her team still have not reached out to us. My husband ended up taking our son to urgent care.
