I had been having pain for about a week, i had a hole in the top of my mouth, i was kinda scared that id have to have an oral surgery done. I have Medical assistance so as far as dental they only cover basic. I waa told they work with me. Called on friday, they had an appt that day, i however waited till monday, went in, he lookes told me it was pieces of a broken tooth. He numbed me up very well and got the tooth out. Didnt feel a thing! My bill was a lot less than i expected, gave me pain meds and antibiotics. I will def be back!!! read more

I've been seeing Dr Cohen since I moved to Baltimore. The office is smaller and less modern than others, but I really like it. Most of the staff are the same people I see every year, and they are always friendly. Unlike some dentists, Dr Cohen is not trying to upsell, if they tell me I need something I know it's true. This is a neighborhood place in a time where few things like that exists. read more

It's a smaller office but it just has that Baltimore charm to it. Dr. Cohen did a good, comprehensive dental exam. He said the classic "you need to floss more" spiel but yeah, I probably need to. All in all, solid dentist experience. read more

I should start this review off by confessing that I've been very bad and have been putting off going to the dentist for years. After way too much stalling I finally made an appointment with Dr. Cohen for a check-up and cleaning. Thing started off well when I had to reschedule my appointment because of schedule changes at work. The office staff was very accommodating about changing my appointment and finding one that was convenient for me. Once I arrived it was the typical new patient experience at every medical office. Fill out a history form and an insurance form, take a seat, read boring old magazines that are sitting on the table. My appointment was at 2:00 and I was called back at around 2:25. Not great but I understand that appointment times can't always be exact. Dr. Cohen himself seemed like a really nice guy and I'm thankful that he didn't give me any grief for putting off a dental appointment for so long. I had a sense that he's an old-time Baltimorean and during the exam he was talking about random bits of local history. I kind of appreciated that since it gave me something to take my mind off the digging & scraping in my mouth. My teeth were fine so I can't comment on how good he is at fixing problems but for routine care I'd definitely recommend him. read more

I went to this guy and he had me wait for my first appointment about 25 minutes or so. The follow up appointment I came 10 minutes late, thinking it would reduce my wait, and he said I was too late and the appointment was cancelled! This was annoying, but not a huge deal, a drop of a star. He seemed to be pretty rough when cleaning my teeth, much more than my previous dentist. No use making a dentist appointment worse than it is. Second star drop. Finally, I went in to get a molar tooth pulled. He was all ready to pull it, and then said he had a hurt hand and wasn't feeling up to doing the surgery. Ok, I appreciate the honesty, but why couldn't he have told me before I took off work and showed up? There goes another star. Bottom line, I am looking for another dentist. read more

I have gone to Dr Cohen for years. He's the kind of dentist that "if it aint broke dont fix it". Too often dentists in brand new sparkling offices try to upsell everything. Dr Cohen is not like this at all. He only fixes what you need done. The staff is extremely friendly and it makes going to the dentist very easy! read more

Dr. Cohen has been my dentist for more than 15 years. I recently had an appointment for a cleaning and a check-up. Dr. Cohen's staff was friendly and made me feel at ease as they always do. When I was called back for my cleaning, Dr. Cohen greeted me with a welcoming hello and asked me about my family and how my boys were doing away in college. I was so impressed that he remembered that my boys were now in college because he had not seen me for awhile. Dr. Cohen and his assistance joked with me and made me feel at ease when he was cleaning my teeth and throughout my appointment. My teeth felt great when I left. I wanted to write this review because I have been to so many doctors over the years that have no idea who I am. Dr. Cohen really cares about you as an individual and I really appreciate that. He does not rush you through the appointment but takes his time with you and is very thorough. I have many friends who live in the Federal Hill neighborhood who are patients of Dr. Cohen and everyone says the same thing. He is honest, reasonable and does a great job. I searched for a long time to find a good dentist and I could not be more pleased. I never write reviews but I wanted to write this one because I have had such great experiences and I wanted everyone to know about him. If you want to go to a dentist where you will feel comfortable and who does a great job, Dr. Cohen on Light Street is the place to go. read more

I was looking for something within walking distance and this was the place. I had to reschedule my appt. no big deal. I should've know just by walking that it was going to be a bad experience. However once I should up at 3:45 when my appt. was at 4:00 I actually didn't get called back till 4:25. This of course was after I waited in an empty waiting room with no receptionist or anyone there to take my paper work. Once I was called back there was no "how was I doing?" or small talk which is fine, I never witnessed the doctor's tools be disinfected or removed from a new package. As the dental hygienist sat on a bar stool with the suction tube in my mouth Dr.Cohen scraped my teeth. I have really good teeth , no cavities , always floss etc. however he scraped so rough that days later I am still very sore. This process took about 15 minutes with Dr. Cohen where as with other dentist's the process is about 45 minutes. Lets just say my teeth did not feel clean and I will not be going back. read more

Over a year ago, a good friend took me to the dentist he had been going to for countless years...Dr. Cohen. My previous dentist had passed away. The last dentist's office I visited, I never even saw the dentist!! Dr. Cohen & his staff exceeded my expectations in many ways!!!. If there were a fan club for Dr. Cohen, I would gladly run it!!! Due to an unnecessary filling change at the last dental office, I had a lower molar so damaged & painful that it had to be removed. I told Dr. Cohen that this is a VERY difficult area to numb. When this tooth was originally filled, half of my face was numb from Novocaine, but I could still feel the drill. He seemed to take that as a challenge & had the tooth completely numb after only 2 injections!! That speaks volumes as to his knowledge and experience!! His thoroughness surprised me!! He was concerned that a piece of the root was still in my jaw. He got an eyepiece with extra magnification to look at the site, then took 2 additional x-rays to be 100% certain that there were no tooth fragments left behind. This is definitely my new dentist!!!!!! My only wish is that the parking were easier. I cannot parallel park a tiny 2 seater, the thought of parallel parking a pick-up truck causes me more stress than the visit to Dr. Cohen does!! read more

Dr. Cohen has been our family dentist for over 40 years and we love him. His old school charm/family dentistry is one like no other and he always has a positive attitude making you feel welcomed and comfortable as possible even during some of the most difficult procedures. You will find a small family office "where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came"! No stuffiness here or big flashy office with multiple staff members and outrageous fees. There were times in the past when our family could not afford some dental care and Dr. Cohen took care of us without a second thought and we will always be grateful for his kindness. His dental work is priceless and so are his jokes (might I add). He makes exceptions when possible and offers excellent advice when referencing options about dental work. Oh, I must also comment on Bev as she has been his rock since the beginning; funny, kind, warm-hearted, and loving as well. She has done a wonderful job of managing the office over the years. His assistant Kristen is also one of the sweetest and nicest people and she makes sure that you are taken care of from the time that you are seated and thereafter.
