I will speak my truth over and over again. After all was said and done I had a horrible dental abscess that caused the most excruciating pain that I have ever experienced in my life, and I blame this dental practice. Dr. Murphy spoke with me over the phone while I was in debilitating pain and had the nerve to suggest that he would "fit me in tomorrow for a trigger point injection". I blame this practice for being a poor representation of the dental community and whole-heartedly blame them for making me unnecessarily suffer because they have lost their way in patient care.

When you get there, they always seem not to be expecting you. Then once they get started, it seems they are rushing to do 5 things at once. Like how can I make the next appointment while your hands are still in my mouth, and the assistant is handing me the spit cup? Why don't you already know what I had done last time? I can tell you but not while there are 4 hands and all kinds of tools in my mouth, and someone handing me things. Slow down and understand that patients are not pros at this. We get dental work done once in a while and it's kind of difficult for us. We shouldn't be asked to multitask while under duress and while paying top dollar, just so you don't have to spend one extra minute with us. I'd cancel my next appointment but I bought a membership on the strength of the first visit (prompt response to a painful need) so I'm just stuck I guess. If you're ok with a bit of chaos and little roughness, she's very good. If not, go elsewhere.

I really appreciated Dr. Truesdale taking the time to talk to me about my dental issues from a wholistic approach and I even vocalized that to her during my appointment. I scheduled my appointment for fillings and came in for my second appointment for the procedure. My appointment was at 9:40am. I walked in at 9:35 am and filled out my paperwork and was not seen until about 10:20am. I believe my procedure was started around 10:30. The delay was not ideal but I'm generally pretty understanding when it comes to doctor's offices and the domino effect of delays with one patient effecting the rest of the day so I was not too bothered. The procedure itself was brief, which I appreciate because I had to rush back to work afterwards. I then went to the front desk to pay my copay and I requested a quote for a night guard. The woman at the desk notified me that she had "provided me a quote already" and seemed very impatient. She then told me the price and it was out of my budget ($300 out of pocket) so I told her I would hold off for now. She had me pay my copay for the fillings, gave me my receipt, and as I was about to leave she said "oh wait there's an outstanding balance on your account for another $60 for counseling. Since you talked about your TMJ during your last appointment and your insurance doesn't cover counseling." I did not argue, as I was a little shocked and my mouth was still very numb from my procedure. I said nothing and swiped my card. This interaction made me uncomfortable. I was not given a choice as to if I wanted "counseling" or not and I have never had a dentist charge me for this before. I would really appreciate a heads up so I can opt in or out of a service. I have a very tight budget and this extra $60 makes it difficult for me to get gas this week for my car. I then walked out of the office to my car and looked in my mouth. I had metal residue on multiple teeth from the removal of my old fillings. I know this is not technically harmful but I didn't want to swallow that. Taking a few seconds after the procedure to rinse/ brush off my teeth would have really been appreciated. This experience left me feeling rushed out, undervalued, and taken advantage of. Not to mention, I found a new dentist, same insurance and they quoted me only $150 out of pocket for my mouth guard. That's half the price that Innovation Dental quoted me. They also billed codes to my insurance for "oral surgery" when I got my fillings and that is still up for debate on if it was appropriate. I have my insurance company looking into it. I would not go back here. Between the wait times and shady charges, I was left unsettled.

The staff (dentists and assistants) always communicate with me about what they are doing and why, show great patience, kindness and understanding when I get upset or anxious. I have had someone hold my hand while I calmed down. This past visit, I had to get prep work for a crown. I have had 2 other ones and they went ok, but I needed to be numbed several times before they could proceed. I was a mess and the care with which they handled my situation was exceptional. I was able to have the process completed and I walked out with such gratitude. Overcoming painful childhood experiences at the dentist has been a challenge as an adult. I am so thankful for their mental expertise and their care.

I asked the white receptionist for information about how to do that, and she patronized me. She ignored everything I had to say. Instead, she talked about discounts on dental treatment and about purchasing dental insurance through my employer. A second white lady had to step in. She also was useless in explaining how to get dental insurance. I had a simple question: How do I get dental insurance? This company failed to answer that, and instead fed me lies. I walked away disappointed because I had enough of their wasting my time.

Initially, I lived & worked nearby, and I started Invisalign a couple years later in 2022. I paid thousands in full upfront. This past year, I moved to be closer to my new job in College Park resulting in a longer commute. I've always received great feedback regarding how my teeth are shifting, but I got trays mixed up towards the end of the summer while traveling, which delayed my schedule. I apologized for this. My work schedule + my job now being an hour away contributed to having to reschedule some appointments (in advance). Due to this, I've observed an attitude from their receptionist. There was an instance where I had an urgent work meeting, and I called in advance to reschedule & the receptionist just passive-aggressively chuckled... I'm not sure if this is the same woman who greets me when I arrive, but the receptionist who does is not friendly. I've had to say something to be greeted, and the interaction is dismissive. For my last visit, I sensed agitation during my appointment, which was disheartening since I've been a patient for so long. This is likely because the practice may want to wrap up my treatment since I've already paid in full & I'm so close to being done. Keep in mind, my deadline to complete Invisalign is 2027, but of course, I'd like to wrap up my treatment before that point. The practice may have gotten impatient due to my work schedule/commute, so I decided to then find another practice near me to transfer my treatment there. After seeing two Invisalign doctors for consultations, I was quoted additional thousands to transfer treatment. I reached out to Peartree to figure out the transfer process. I expressed to the practice via email my concerns & why I was exploring another provider. I expressed that I would ideally like to finish the treatment there, but that I also don't want to sense agitation when scheduling & arriving for visits. I was flat out IGNORED. I followed up with a question regarding how many trays I have left, which I was responded to quickly without acknowledgment of the concerns I expressed in my previous email to him. I responded stating that I will absolutely be changing doctors at this point because of my concerns being dismissed & for the transfer documentation to please be forwarded via email. I received a fast response with the form (again not acknowledging my email with concerns). The fact that I am switching Invisalign providers & will be paying additional thousands out of pocket with a new doctor rather than finishing up at Peartree due to poor customer service (when I'm so close to being done) is unfortunate... But this shows how disappointed I am in my experience at this practice as a long-term patient. It's apparent that the practice handles concerns by simply ignoring them, so they go away... especially, when the patient has already paid. Very unfortunate... I do not recommend.
