When I started eating ketchup again, the swelling returned. It turns out I am allergic to tomatoes, which, according to Doctor Google, may cause blistering in the mouth. When a search engine gives you better information than a professional, one has to wonder what exactly these folks learn in dental school. Bottom line: never trust a dentist to solve a medical problem. They just don't have the knowledge.

This fear mongering works well enough that I agree to it. They print me out a quote for several thousand dollars. By my next appointment I've had time to think about it and do my research. I'm feeling a tad suspicious so inquire: "How will replacing my current implant help prevent bone loss if my current implant isn't doing so?" He responds, "We're not replacing the implant just the crown." This is not what was discussed prior. He also admitted he didn't know if replacing the implant would help but there "might be a correlation". In summary, sounds like he was trying to use scare tactics to persuade me into getting expensive work done that I didn't need and he got caught when I called him on his bs.
