Well... it's a little sketchy with the prices. I prefer complete transparency and honesty. The dental hygienist isn't the friendliest and uses the most judgmental and accusatory vocabulary and seems to always be in a bad mood. Also talks to people like they're beneath her and as if you're uneducated. The x-ray tech even slapped my hand. I'm still working through that mentally. When people find dental offices that are convenient, these kinds of behaviors can cause lack of trust and extend their process of treatment towards a healthy lifestyle. It causes a hunt for another office and having to start all over again. Delaying care. Some people are tired of having to start over and over with new offices. Running into people like this contributes to unhealthy habits. Everyone has a bad day and is going through something, especially customers. I think it's best that they take that into consideration. It is the responsibility of the staff to work through their personal issues or problems at work on their own time and not take it out on customers. If your personal or work life is affecting you that much that you're bringing it to your customers, take some time off or quit and give someone with respect for others an opportunity to provide a better experience for better treatment. I go in for the usual x-rays, cleaning and check up one does at a new dentist. Afterward the dentist looks at my mouth and says my implant is causing bone loss and needs to be replaced. This fear mongering works well enough that I agree to it. They print me out a quote for several thousand dollars. By my next appointment I've had time to think about it and do my research. I'm feeling a tad suspicious so inquire: "How will replacing my current implant help prevent bone loss if my current implant isn't doing so?" He responds, "We're not replacing the implant just the crown." This is not what was discussed prior. He also admitted he didn't know if replacing the implant would help but there "might be a correlation". In summary, sounds like he was trying to use scare tactics to persuade me into getting expensive work done that I didn't need and he got caught when I called him on his bs. I got a bad vibe and am very glad I asked for more information and followed my instincts. read more

My experience in Aspen dental: I initially schedule a general cleaning 3 weeks in advance. Arrived 10 minutes before my appointment and was waiting 40 minutes for the X-rays. And another 25 minutes for the doctor. All that to find out that the cleaning is only been done if you're lucky and most odds you'll have to reschedule. Obviously during the exam they found out all those issues with my teeth and told me I should do this with them. Then was waiting for a salesperson in a room for any 15 minutes. He never showed up. I had to leave to work they say they will call me. No one called I never got the cleaning done and wasted there 2 hours of my life. Just a terrible experience. By far one of the worst dental experiences that I've ever had. I had recently switched companies and signed up for a DMO plan not knowing what that was. I can't wait until open enrollment to change it! DMO limits you to some of the worst dental offices, this being no exception. As some of the other reviews mentioned they make you do an exam before they give you a teeth cleaning. Who's ever heard of this?!!! It's extremely inconvenient. I called to request a cleaning, they didn't say it would only be xrays instead of scheduling five minutes for X-rays and a cleaning appointment with the hygienist. One if the worst experiences I've ever had with a dentist. Horrible communication, lack of professionalism, rudeness, and overall horrible bedside manner. Staff was not knowledgeable about the billing process and misquoted us several times. My husband had oral surgery and was whisked back and brought out after zero recovery time. At no time did the surgeon communicate with me before or after the procedure. Generally he/she will come out just to say things went well, patient is in recovery, whatever. Something at least. Show up the day of just to find out they canceled my appointment on 7/14 with no notification saying they had called me to again confirm my appointment, but didn't bother to leave a voicemail. I shouldn't forget to mention this was after standing waiting in the lobby for five minutes while the receptionist was too busy having an argument on the phone to acknowledge I had come in, Supposedly called me to confirm, but didn't leave a voicemail. I went to the Halethorpe, MD location. It wasn't a wonderful experience. X-rays were taken. Very bad communication. I wasn't crazy about the dentist. It may have been something culturally but his approach was too loud for me. He kept saying, "If you come back and I say teeth are bad you need to listen." I get it, he's Asian and it was just the way he spoke but I give dentists a lot of my money, so you need to be nicer and calmer. The technician and the dentist had miscommunication. I wanted a tooth color that matched my other teeth. She said it wasn't available right away and he didn't know that. Ok, not too bad but it was important. My teeth are a bit whiter than the whitest natural color tooth---it's a bridge. The technician referred to them as "grayish." LOL I ended up with one of the worst flippers I've ever had. It matches but it hurts. I ended up cutting off the silver clasps because I couldn't pull the thing out of my mouth and it would get stuck. I didn't get the feeling that anyone working there was happy, just marking time. read more

I went to have a tooth pulled, that is all. They kept giving me complete X-rays, complete pictures. Kept telling me a root canal is the best option, or a bridge. I was called in the morning and asked if I could come earlier, and not once was I advised if I didn't that I would not be seen. I arrived at the time I advised, and they advised me they would only be able to see one of us (three appointments booked). They were disrespectful, rude, and absolutely lacking of any empathy. We make a appointment for the following Friday, my mom and I are terrified of the dentist, but we knew it was time to go, we were actually excited to get the process started and ready to go! Thursday before the appointment they call and said they over booked for the next day and needed to reschedule our appointments!?!? Ummm what? Do you know the effort it took to mentally prepare us both for this appointment and now you have to reschedule!? Ok, fine, they then schedule us for Monday, and I told them I would have to let them know because of our work schedules, (we both took off on Friday to be at the appointment, I lost a lot of money by not going to work, Friday is my busiest day!) so they said to call back and reschedule when we can both come, so I call, talk to a guy and he took my info and said someone would call me back, no one did, I've been calling almost everyday since last Monday, and I always get the answering service, that someone is on the phone please call back during normal business hours!!! Needless to say, we will be taking our business elsewhere, and it's a shame, we both wanted implants and heard great things about Aspen, but apparently not this location! WARNING: Do NOT go to Aspen Dental! I typically try not to complain, especially in such a public forum, but if I could give 0 stars here, I would. I have been trying to get dental work accomplished for months now. Originally, I thought the problem was the one location/dentist that I was going to for my dental care (Halethorpe). I spoke with the regional manager expressing my dismay with customer service & the agony I have been in as a result of incomplete/ill-achieved dental work for which I & my insurance company have been billed. I was able to get my account transferred to another location (Owings Mills), but it does not seem like there is much of a difference. I have made appointments, played phone tag & driven between the 2 different locations over, roughly, the past 3 months to no avail. I have not even gotten the common courtesy of a phone call to reschedule/cancel before I make the trip to the office (from either location) resulting in my driving 30-40 miles for no reason 8 times - and counting. They seem oblivious to the fact that patients often schedule other obligations (work, child care, etc.) around these appointments. Still, trying to be understanding & cooperative, I agreed to pick up dental supplies at one location & then travel to another location for dental work. Upon arrival to the 1st, I was told that half of what I was to get from them was lost. When I got to the 2nd office I was told that I needed to give them more money before they would complete the work. I have no idea how much my insurance has been charged however, I have paid roughly $3,500 out of pocket for one filling & one cleaning (which I know my insurance completely covered; as most would). The idea of being able to make quick initial appointments for emergencies is what attracts patients however, Aspen Dental has, by far, been the worse medical experience I have ever had in my life. The only reason I'm still dealing with Aspen is because more reliable orthodontists (to whom I have attempted to transfer my care for the last 2 months) are not willing to complete dental work that another dentist began, especially when that dental work is not up to their professional standards, which I understand. Once I am able to eat & speak without pain again, I will NEVER return to any Aspen Dental under any circumstance. Further, I will be having my attorney take a close look at the invoices I have managed to get (although they seem pretty shady about giving receipts/account paperwork, even upon request). Of course, their website quotes the highest of reviews, but after looking at other reviews on Yelp, BBB, etc. I am not the only patient having major issues with this company. I wish I had read these reviews prior to choosing Aspen for my dental care. I would have lived with my tooth ache for years just to avoid this ordeal. read more

Having terrible tooth pains. Searched for an office with Saturday availability. Received a call late Friday confirming appt. Missed call, called right back in less than 3min. Could only reach voicemail as the office was closed. This was around 5:20pm. Online states location open til 6pm so I'm extremely confused as to why I couldn't reach a live person. Tried again Saturday morning to call & confirm. As I didn't get a cancellation email or anything. Again can not get through to a live person only voicemail. I take an hour drive to the location for my 12:30pm appt to find the doors locked. Again no one would answer the phone. The most frustrating complicated situation. Moving forward when leaving a voicemail please leave needed details on how to get into establishment for "appointment only Saturdays" Highly upset that I wasted time with this establishment. I am here on work and I cracked a tooth, I called plenty of dentist and none were taking new patients due to covid 19. This place was. I told them I am k. Work and have a cracked tooth that needs to be attracted asap. No problem they said. I get there get in right away and everyone way was very nice. 30 min of exams which was not needed as I told them I am out of the state and just need my tooth pulled but this is what they need to do they said. After that I say in a room and listen to to the dentists talk with the receptionists on the phone and other crap while I watch 3 episodes on Guys grocery games on the little TV while I'm in the chair. Did I mention they called me in early cause of the weather? I left work early to get my tooth out. Ok so after about 45 min the dentists comes in and starts saying I need all these things!! I said man I out of town I just need an extraction of my hurting tooth!! Lol he said we are closing early cant do it today. ??? YOU CALLED ME EARLY, I LEFT WORK SAT HERE FOR TWO HOURS AND YOU CANT DO ANYTHING?. . But you can sit there and do your thing for 45min with your crew and talk? Dony go to this place.
