I contacted Red Eye Plumbing to fix my toilet because of reviews on Facebook marketplace. I spoke…read morewith Marcus, told him that I broke the tank on my toilet, and I want to replace the entire toilet because it was an older model and I couldn't find a replacement tank for it. Marcus told me he could have someone out to my place Friday or Saturday. He asked if I wanted to get my own toilet or buy one off the the company truck . I told him I would prefer to go shopping and pick something out myself. I asked him for a recommendation and he said he prefers Kohler but American Standard is also good. I asked what it would cost to replace the toilet and if they took credit cards. Marcus quoted me $150ish, depending on if they have to shutoff the valve and do other things and said cash is preferred because there are a 3% fee for credit cards. I figured that was reasonable and scheduled an appointment for Friday. Marcus took my name and number and said someone would call 30-mins before arriving. I went to the bank to withdraw money because I did not want to pay the 3% fee. I got home and waited for the call. Marcus called around 12:45 PM to let me know someone was on their way. I got an alert from my Ring Doorbell that someone was at the door. I opened the door and sensed immediately the person was not expecting who was behind the door. I introduced myself, told him I have the replacement toilet in my truck and showed him the toilet. He looked at it and said it would be $389 to replace. I was flabbergasted! I asked him his name, he said Marcus. I said, you quoted me $150ish, how is it now double. He stuttered a bit and said he can take $89 off with the company coupon. I told him I did not have a coupon and he told me I could download it off their website. I was still not prepared to pay $300 but figured I had no choice. Marcus removed the new toilet from truck and kept complimenting the model saying it was a good make and model and who recommend it. I reminded him he was the one who recommended the model. Btw, I got the Kohler. He removed the parts outside and brought them in the house. Marcus asked if he could dump my old toilet on the property and I told him we have a dumpster but there's a camera. Backstory, I live in a condo in Bridgewater. While Marcus was working on replacing my toilet, I was on their website looking for the coupon. I spoke to him through the open door of my bathroom and told him I could not find the coupon. At this point, Marcus was done replacing the toilet, he was flushing it a couple times making sure there were no leaks. Marcus came out of the bathroom, asked to see my phone so he could find it. He found it and said, don't worry about printing it out, just pay him $300. Marcus then said he will put some caulk around the toilet because the one he removed was not caulked. I said okay and he proceeded. The entire job took about 35-40 mins. I paid Marcus the $300, thanked him for his service. Before leaving, Marcus went to his truck and came back with a magnet, business card and two pens with the company logo. I said thank you and Marcus said he would take the old toilet with him and left. I am writing this review not to ding the reputation of the company but show my felt discrimination of Marcus's part. I saw in his eyes he wasn't expecting my name to match the face. To charge double was a disappointment and am hoping to not ever need a plumber for anything else. Happy Memorial Day to me .

My husband and I have been using Tony for over a year now since his worker Kevin is GREAT. It's…read morereviewed 1 star because of the way things are conducted through Tony. As most of us know, plumbers are high priced. It's just that type of trade. Well Tony was no different. In fact, when ASKED to be quoted, other than 2 times he couldn't do that for some reason. There have been a few occasions that my husband and I have questioned how Tony is pricing his work. And he has even CALLED Tony to see if he can shed some light on it. Recently Tony had his worker do some things for us. It's been about 1 1/2-2 weeks and didn't receive an invoice until YESTERDAY 9/17/2019. In the emailed invoice he stated he would want his money by tomorrow. My husband called Tony to reduce the price, and he did to 1,850 (I'm sure it's void now since it was over the phone and no written proof). During the phone call my husband, as a business owner to another business owner, informed Tony that his business should NOT be conducted in that manor. No quotes, sending invoices very late, expecting payment as invoice is sent. You give an invoice within a couple of days after completing a job. A week and a half/ 2 weeks is unacceptable and unprofessional. And you usually give max 30 days to make payment, not request it be paid the following day. He did not take the constructive criticism well, in fact he called back and stated he refuses to do work for us after we pay him. Now, today, 9/18/2019 Tony sent my husband another text saying if he doesn't get half the payment of $2,149.68 he will take matters further. Not understanding what that means since we received an invoice yesterday. This is a review to make people aware that this was something we dealt with every job with Tony. Good Luck to everyone!

He couldn't come right away but very kindly suggested what to do to fix it myself and I was able to! His demeanor on the phone was that he wanted to help and that he cared. We recently had a furnace and water heater installed by Edwin Stipe and, based on this…read moreinstallation, I would never recommend them to anyone. Here's the story: Several years ago, Edwin Stipe replaced our A/C. We were happy with the install, and happy with the technicians who have been inspecting the unit as part of the service plan. This is why we chose Edwin Stipe for the furnace and water heater install. Tim Fleischood of Edwin Stipe came to our house and made recommendations for the work. It sounded reasonable, and based on past work, we went ahead with the job. One of the problems I had with the old furnace was the filter was located inside the furnace and it was always collapsing. Tim said no one installed the filter in the furnace anymore, and promised it would be on the outside in the ductwork. Installation day came. The workers were friendly and respectful of our property, donning booties to keep the floor clean as the brought equipment and tools in and out of the house. This is where the positives end. When the installation was complete, I discovered the filter was installed inside the furnace, just like Tim said it would NOT be. The workers said it would be OK and the filter would not collapse. I grudgingly said OK, and they left. When they left, they said someone would contact me for the permit inspections. The A/C was running and after a couple of hours I decided to check out the filter. I had to remove 4 or 5 sheet metal screws to access the filter (ridiculous!) and the filter was indeed collapsing. Looking at the installation, I noticed, among other things, the gas to the furnace was off. WTH? Clearly the furnace was never tested, and no one said anything about returning any time to turn on the gas or testing the furnace! There were also massive air leaks in the duct work where they had installed a transition piece for the new furnace. I contacted Tim, explained my frustration, and he said they would return. The same tech who did the installation returned (I hope he never returns again). He told me (believe it or not), it doesn't matter if there are air leaks because its in the house. What?? He had absolutely no answer as to why the gas was left off and asked if I wanted the furnace tested. Uh, yeah! The tech turned on the gas and ran the furnace for about 30 seconds. He cut a very jagged hole in the side of the ductwork, mutilated a filter because it didn't fit, and cut a piece of exhaust flue in half, straightened it out, and screwed it over the filter. I was livid! It was the worst hack job I've ever seen. I contacted Tim (yet again) and sent him a picture of what was done. He promised that someone would come out fix everything. A few days later, another installation team came out and installed a proper filter holder. They left and I thought all was good. After a month and a half, I contacted Edwin Stipe to ask if a permit was applied for, because no one had contacted me for an inspection. They said they had mailed the permit information to me and I would have to contact the township for the inspection. OK, but it would have been nice if they had told me that in the beginning! Well, today were the inspections, one for electrical, one for mechanical. The electrical inspector noted that the top of the 2 foot conduit was not supported and it should be. He said it was sloppy work and he would talk to the installer. He didn't fail it, since I said I'd support the conduit. The mechanical inspector noted that the exhaust for the water heater should have a minimum of 3 screws equally spaced at each exhaust joint. Of four joints, only one had enough screws holding it together. He gave me the option of him failing the inspection or I could add screws. I promised to add screws. As much as I would have wanted Edwin Stipe to return and complete the job to the point it could pass inspection, I really didn't want to schedule them to come out yet another time, and have to reschedule the inspection. Plus, I'm not really sure they would have done it correctly. So, zero communication, three visits to complete the installation, sloppy work, and an installation I had to complete in order to pass inspection. Would I recommend Edwin Stipe? Certainly not!

The service man came out and stated we needed a new upstairs heating and a/c unit. We just had the blower replaced three years prior. The gentleman told us the unit is getting ready to expire and he recommended a new a/c and heating unit at the cost of $16,000 to $20,000. We got a second opinion. Thank God we did. The unit is working fine. The gentleman that came out said there was a wire that powered up the unit was very loose and could cause the system to eventually not work. He repaired the connection. To date, we have had no issues with either one of the a/c or heating units. Note: the gentleman that came out to service our units were highly recruited by Edwin Stipe to work for them. People, beware of the scams that Edwin Stipe uses in increase their new unit installs to increase there total sales for the year!
