Alan Silberberg, MD

I grew up in Texas the son of a scientist, and was raised in an intellectually rich environment in…read morewhich reading, research, facts and truth were held in high regard--in direct contrast to the astounding horror of our age in which the current power structure of idiot-based disinformation has allowed the term "alternative facts" to leak into our lexicon. I inherited what I call my father's Query Engine Mind, which has served me well in becoming a writer and a published author whose non-fiction book on UFOs has been selling steadily on Amazon for five years on April 9th. My research skills have also enabled me to scope out the best in their fields, which came in handy when I recently re-injured a herniated disc at L4-5 (which apparently is a more complex mess now than it was 25+ years ago when the snow skiing accident started it all), and I have lucked into a superb operation called the Greater Austin Pain Center. When Dr. Alan Silberberg walked into the consultation room, shook my hand, sat down and opened with, "I've studied your MRI images carefully, and you're in a real pickle here, buddy," I knew I'd met my doctor. He radiates intelligence the way my Dad did, and he's extremely blunt and direct and doesn't sugarcoat the facts--all the elements I need in a doctor for me to feel confident I'm in good hands. We've taken the approach of doing spinal epidurals (the same treatment that was very effective for me with the original injury), and I had my first session this week. I was face down on an operating table, so I can't visually describe what was done, but I can say that the needles weren't artlessly jammed into my lower back, they were slowly finessed into the damaged areas, and the steroid/pain killer mix was injected slowly and then with a more steady progression. The artful skill being utilized here was quite noticeable and greatly appreciated, and it clearly minimized the application pain (I chose no sedation). This doctor's impressive online CV most definitely matches his performance. Dr. Silberberg is surrounded by a top-notch staff of clinical professionals and front end office people, mostly an all-female crew. I've encountered nothing but friendly and polite helpfulness from everybody, both on the phone and in person. If they can maintain their level of excellence, friendliness and efficiency across the board, then I hope they corner the market here in Central Texas. My Dad often said, "The cream always rises to the top." Dr. Alan Silberberg and his crew have proven this to me. If you're a self-paying client like I am, this is the Go-To Team for you. They treat me great, and they've impressed me beyond words. I got lucky the day I found them.

I had minor improvement with PT and my functional Dr suggested that I try Airrosti. I was pretty skeptical that this would do anything for me and was in such a bad place mentally that I thought nothing would work and that I'd permanently be in pain. After visit 1 I experienced a detox that made things worse before they became MUCH better. It was also so comforting to finally have a provider tell me what the issue is. After a perfect MRI I really was worried and clueless about why this pain was present. It turns out that I had a pinched nerve which explains the radiating pain + the severity. I saw the dr twice my first week and my pain reduced by 90% after just 1 week of treatment. I had my last appointment today and feel so relieved that this helped me. To look at where I was just a few weeks ago, I can't believe I'm doing most of the things I enjoy again. I'm so grateful for Dr. Mahaffey and staff.

I went to Cary Finale and in one consultation I was already feeling near 100%, I wanted to cry. I had been to the West Lake location when I had neck pain, could barely turn my neck and they cured me in no time. I was going to the chiropractor every week for months and it wasn't as effective as Arrosti, the pain was still there. My brother was having knee/leg issues and I told him about Arrosti, he had never heard of it before. He went and told me dude, my pain is gone. I was like I told you man, they are amazing. He was so happy I told him about them. I can't thank Cary Finale and the PT dude for getting me pain free. When you are in as much pain as I was in and they fix you, you want to kiss them, cry, and all sorts of things. They got me back to 100% in no time. One of the most amazing things to is that they don't want your money. They are more concerned about getting you 100% as fast as possible, unlike the Chiropractor. Arrosti will discharge you as soon as you are feeling better, they won't have you coming back to suck up your $$$. Cary was super nice, calming, understanding, and educated. She new exactly how to remedy my pain, it was instant. After that initial consultation they sent me to the next room over for a PT session. Showed me and performed the exercises for my specific pain, loaded those exercises in the APP, which is so helpful so you don't forget how to do all the exercises they send you home with. The APP is 100% awesome, its all tailored to you and there are videos demonstrating each exercise. If you want to be pain free in no time, do yourself a favor and book an appointment. You will become a lifer. Thanks again!!!

I mean, come on) and replaced that with four other medications. we are looking into injections and further ways to help with pain. I appreciate that pain clinics exist & people like emily really try to help and empathize with chronic and excruciating pain.

I know how & why, and I'll leave it as not good. The entire medical community talks about the former APA Clinic-even when someone is NOT in the medical field. Austin does want to know: WHERE IS Dr Feferman? I thought I was done, but OH NO. I was given an amount much lower than my supposed total (which had included balance billing and significantly higher charges)-I paid cash to end it. THEN old claims previously processed as Out of Network (and part of my payment above) were resubmitted by "someone" as In Network, so this clinic collected double. NOT NICE. For those who hope this place is nice and has competent staff now-I hope so too. However, If they are so desperate or incompetent as to 1. Harass me for payment (no worries I save EVERYTHING), 2. The claim i oupted out of Text Messaing that was "Not correct" I received one to make payment I rely on a case manager to help manage my care, and there was: NO confirmation call NO reminder text before the appointment NO follow-up prior to the visit Instead, I got a "You missed your appointment" text AFTER THE FACT. When I raised this issue, DOC leadership -- particularly PAIGE, Director of Operations -- doubled down. Even after reviewing records that showed I wasn't receiving reminders, she coldly cited "company policy" and refused to waive the charge. I PAID THE $50 UNDER PROTEST -- this was NOT a legitimate or fair fee. I've had FOUR SURGERIES IN UNDER A MONTH, with a MAJOR SHOULDER REPLACEMENT scheduled for 8/26 -- and this is how they treat patients who are trying to manage complex, ongoing care? ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL. ************ And before someone from the social media team replies with the usual copy-paste: "We're sorry to hear about your experience, please contact us to discuss this further...". DON'T BOTHER. That's not a real apology -- it's a PR-APPROVED DEFLECTION that helps no one and fixes nothing.
