Patients were never notified beforehand -- no call, message, letter, or any other communication. Finding out at an appointment that your physician had already left weeks earlier is unprofessional and unacceptable for continuity of care. The core issue is a lack of integrity in how this transition was handled toward patients in a pain clinic setting, where individuals are already dealing with significant ongoing suffering and dependence on consistent care. Abruptly leaving without proper notice shows a concerning lack of consideration and accountability toward those relying on treatment. If there was a reasonable explanation for the abrupt departure, it was never communicated to patients. Even in difficult or unfavorable situations, patients deserve a basic level of transparency and a diplomatically delivered explanation, particularly when ongoing care is involved. Even Ying appeared uncomfortable being left to explain the situation to surprised patients arriving expecting to see their physician. To be clear, the issue is not that a doctor changes practices or opens a new clinic -- that is understandable. The issue is how it was handled. Patients deserved honesty, transparency, professionalism, and integrity throughout that transition. UPDATE to previous review: Dr. Kim's response does not address the central concern raised in the original review -- the lack of communication and failure to notify established patients prior to his departure from the practice. It does not acknowledge the impact on patients who arrived for scheduled care and were only then informed he was no longer with the clinic. The response also does not include any apology to patients affected by the lack of notice and disruption in continuity of care. The use of the word "unfortunately" comes across as dismissive in context and does not address the underlying concerns regarding patient communication or continuity of care. Additionally, it references a "2024/2025" departure timeline, which is inconsistent with what patients were told by the practice (May 24, 2024) and does not align with what we experienced firsthand on June 4, when patients arrived for appointments and found he was already no longer there. Overall, the response does not engage with the communication failure or patient impact raised in the original review.

The entire medical community talks about the former APA Clinic-even when someone is NOT in the medical field. Austin does want to know: WHERE IS Dr Feferman? I thought I was done, but OH NO. I was given an amount much lower than my supposed total (which had included balance billing and significantly higher charges)-I paid cash to end it. THEN old claims previously processed as Out of Network (and part of my payment above) were resubmitted by "someone" as In Network, so this clinic collected double. NOT NICE. For those who hope this place is nice and has competent staff now-I hope so too. However, If they are so desperate or incompetent as to 1. Harass me for payment (no worries I save EVERYTHING), 2. Receive It after much negotiation THEN (as was always the CORRECT ROUTE- I was NEVER Out of Network) 3. Go To Cigna and RE FILE EACH as a "Corrected In Network Claim" I say BE CAREFUL. I am SO SICK of EVERYTHING related to APA and their new company BUT I have Ethics, and think my doctors should follow the Ethics to which THEY are bound. This isn't over, SO nothing else significant posts til this ENDS. However- I have Cigna so they will be involved You will GET NOWHERE with Austin Billing; I suggest googling the full company name not just USEP (see my post 1 or 2 below for it) along with the address in Dallas used to send payments (a POBox in Dallas). Well, this new doc, Brennan Frank, is an arrogant, egotistical, condescending a**hole. Yes he is. I spent 10 minutes with this yuppie and was ready to strangle someone. You don't talk to patients like this guy does and expect return business. I would rather be in continuous, agonizing pain than to have to be in the same room with him again. I switched to another pain doctor several months ago and am very satisfied. Bye bye, APA...

When I raised this issue, DOC leadership -- particularly PAIGE, Director of Operations -- doubled down. Even after reviewing records that showed I wasn't receiving reminders, she coldly cited "company policy" and refused to waive the charge. I PAID THE $50 UNDER PROTEST -- this was NOT a legitimate or fair fee. I've had FOUR SURGERIES IN UNDER A MONTH, with a MAJOR SHOULDER REPLACEMENT scheduled for 8/26 -- and this is how they treat patients who are trying to manage complex, ongoing care? ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL. ************ And before someone from the social media team replies with the usual copy-paste: "We're sorry to hear about your experience, please contact us to discuss this further...". DON'T BOTHER. That's not a real apology -- it's a PR-APPROVED DEFLECTION that helps no one and fixes nothing.
