Love love love this place. I have dealt with chronic pain for along time and i finally have a glimmer of hope after finding Dr. White. His staff is so very helpful and friendly. Any questions i have or calls they are right on it. If you have been dealing with chronic pain do yourself a favor and give Dr. Mark White a try. He will sit with you and answer any questions you may have. Very informative and caring. I fell very blessed to have found Dr. White and his awesome staff. I had three spinal injections done and i was in and out so fast. I could not believe the results. It is strange not to have pain in those particular spots . I have been a patient of Dr. White's for a little over a year. Before today, I had a good opinion of him. He's never on time and talks too much but there are worse flaws. I went in today for my monthly follow up appointment. I had had a neck surgery last week which turned out to be extremely painful. I had been in the office the day after the surgery to receive some stronger medication while I healed. Today Dr. White walked in and I couldn't believe what followed. I had waited patiently for over an hour to see him. Then he finally came in and he was extremely agitated. So much so that he was shaking and pacing around the room. I started trying to tell him why I was requesting to see him instead of his PA this visit. He started cutting me off while I was talking, responding very rudely to what I was saying. Then he seemed to lose patience and launched into what turned out to be a 5 minute long assault on me and my character. He told me that I was a liar and a drug addict. He told me that I was obsessed with pain medication. When I tried to respond, surprised but calmly, he swore at me and told me he didn't care what I had to say. He cited early refills and multiple ER visits. When I tried to point out that I had never gone to the ER unless directed to do so by his office, I was again cut off and not allowed to speak. He continued on in a manner that I can only think to describe as cruel and abusive. I was cut off and shut down everytime I tried to speak or ask a question. This went on for almost 5 minutes and he ended by saying that I was to see their addiction specialist to be placed on Suboxone. Then he walked out. I was so shocked by his behavior that I just walked out without a word. To be clear, this is not about the accusation that I was addicted to pain medication. I have been on pain meds for a long time and Dr. White had some valid points. This is entirely about the way he handled it, the way I was treated. He was overly aggressive, too loud, he called me a liar and a drug addict repeatedly, he swore at me and kept cutting me off by telling me he "didn't give a damn" how I was feeling. I believe his attitude and his rant at me fall into the category of abusive. I felt so degraded and embarrassed by the time I left. Not to mention he has left me with only two days of medication left, shortly following a very painful neck surgery. I filed a complaint with Advanced Pain Care and may file one with the Texas Medical Board. What happened to me in that office today was not okay. I will never step foot into that facility again. Update: I spoke to the practice manager at Advanced Pain Care. According to her, the nurse in the room contradicted my complaints. She said the doctor was "stern" with me and never swore. While it's true he didn't cuss me out or anything, he did say "I don't give a damn what you feel about....". I felt it was inappropriate and unprofessional. As far as him being stern, that is a gross understatement. Apparently Dr. White expressed that he was only trying to help me. Well Dr. White, if you feel that's true then I'd like you to know that you have an *awful* way of showing it. read more

Very pleased. This is my third try to find a doctor for pain mgmt. i made an appo here based on HealthGrades review. The office staff was nice, helpful, and worked with an unexpected need to move my appo due to illness. Although Dr. Marks was running 15 minutes late, it was worth the wait. I do not like doctors who tell me what to do. I appreciate that doctor Marks listened, outlined the appo, was friendly, and gave me realistic options. I highly recommend him. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. White for several years now. When I first came to him suffering from failed back surgery syndrome, I was taking so much pain medication prescribed by another pain management physician that I could barely function through the day. Today, I am on a very small amount of the proper pain medication and returned to my normal level of mental and physical activity. No other physician has ever so positively affected my life. I found out today that I can't get my injections done and been waiting 6 weeks for it to be done due to the new office having to resubmit paperwork over again. I had to submit a request 30 days plus out for my job to get excused for the day and now I have to wait longer. I am in so much pain and nothing works. I have it is a glitch in the system and they can do it in the morning as prior scheduled. I am starting to go back into a depression state and that one thing I don't like I hope this gets better at this new office real soon. Now I have to have more letters written from them with restrictions so I don't have issues with work and driving is hard along with standing for long periods, walking distance is hard, when I get uncomfortable I have to take meds to try and relieve the pain besides rest and laying on my side with back support. Let's see if they can get their act together very soon it's making me very depressed and unwilling to do anything or talk to anyone without getting upset and angry with the outcome from their reactions read more

Great staff, great bed side manor, very thorough. He gave me several options so I could decide what worked best with my schedule. I decided on cortisone injections for both the left and right side of my lower spine and the procedure went flawless. I opted out of sedation and I'm glad I did. It was easy, quick, with very little discomfort. He asked the entire time "are you ok, how are you feeling, any pain?" Great doc and nurses! Highly recommended. read more

Dr White and his staff are so compassionate. Dr. White is always available. He sees his patients every visit. He makes you part of the decision making. I have tried everything. The pain continues, but, I have cut back by 30 pain pills a month. I have multiple pain in my back, hips, neck, knees, feet, you name it, it hurts. His staff are as kind as he is. Never, do they critize, think you're a "pain", always return phone calls. etc. Dr.White also believes in Eastern and Western treatments. He is actually licensed in Accupunction, but, because most insurances will not cover it. Also, his wife is a very good massage therapist. I had been to various pain management Drs. But, he was the only one who actually sees his patients personally. His staff has experience and know what they are doing. The most important thing is he is so compassionate, has a great sense of humor and will tell you if he doesn't know. He's your man. read more

In the era of managed care where you're lucky to get 10 minutes with a doctor, Dr. White is how you want all your doctors to be: happy to spend half an hour with you to help find the right pain management solution for your needs, willing to work with and consider your financial situation, and able to offer several options and let you weigh the pros and cons of each. Unlike many practices, Dr. White and his staff approach their jobs as people who are there to help you solve a problem, rather than just dispense knowledge and drugs and then move on to the next patient. The appointment was at 4:00, was asked "if possible" try to come in at 3:45 for paperwork, she was not at the window when I arrived at 4:10, the look on her face was not polite when I was told I could not be seen, had plenty of time to say something else, hence the reason I left. I was your last appointment so no others would be waiting. Face it, your staff messed this one up. And you reiterated it with your response. read more

Why there would be any ratings less than 5 stars is beyond me. The staff has been amazing, friendly, personable and in my opinion goes above and beyond. I came here twice and each time I had to wait over an hour in the waiting room. The 2nd appointment was supposed to be the first appointment but still had to wait over an hour. That's crazy. When you don't feel good and you have a toddler with you, you can't afford to wait that long, especially when you have an appointment. Besides the waiting, Dr. White didn't help me one bit. All he did was sit and talked. I was hoping he could point out why I had pain in certain areas and what I can do to help it at home. I felt it was a waste of time and money when I left the office. Dr White's office is almost an hour from my house but after A LOT of research (and review readin') I made an appointment anyway. I know there are quite a few pain management clinics out there to choose from but this one seems different, knowing from experience & from research/reviews. First of all Dr White is actually NICE & not waaay overbooked. He even has a sense of humor : ) The front office ladies are also NICE and efficient. Didn't have any issues filling my prescriptions same day, making an appointment, or with insurance verification. My nurse is a doll (red headed gal), very sweet. I came in for spinal arthritis/chronic headache & left with some headache meds to make it until my botox appt (which I had yesterday). No one has ever even suggested botox to me before. We're also trying some new meds that are (coincidentally) helping me in other areas too. So he's definitely keeping up with new therapies. This is so long already, so I'll wrap it up. In short, I've had a positive experience so far, Dr White & his staff are NICE. Hey...that's a big deal today. Hardly anyone is NICE anymore. I have been a patient of Dr, White's since May of 2012. I had initially came due to pain located in a private area. After 4 months I have had 5 injections (both in groin and back) and have not been able to live completely pain free, however, it is not to the lack of the effort of the Dr as more as my insurance company/ a few nurses there. Pro's: 1) My first visit was great as we had a long talk about the issues I was having, did some "trouble shooting" to verify where pain was coming from and came to a plan of action. 2) Appointment times are very accurate with less than 20 min wait times. 3) Office staff Kris and Kim are great. They know me by voice and effectively communicate everything I need to tell the Dr or nurses and great about getting me in on my hectic schedule. 4) Dr White has the equipment, tools and experience to make the procedures I go in for efficient and effective. 5) Gregg the guy nurse shows a lot of empathy and explains everything before and after your visits so there is no confusion when you leave. 6) Dr White is like a mad scientist who knows what he is doing and talks his way through all the complicated medical jargon but has many techniques and ideas to live pain free. Although I do not always understand what he is saying (as he can say many things at once, kinda funny) he always looks like he is trying to solve the puzzle of how to get me pain free. Cons: 1) I am still having moderate to severe pain that keeps me up at night (guess this is why I am writing this now) and have not been totally diagnosed. I have had several appointments and a few procedures but the relief is temporary at best (3-10 days). Now this can vary for everyone and I know that, but I have had no MRI's done to confirm or decline what could be causing the pain. This has equated to many copays. 2) The nurse Lisa I think may drink too much coffee. She bounces around, humming along but cannot remember conversations and/or effectively give me necessary information I need to give/get from the DR. Try to avoid her at all costs. 3) Because procedures haven't worked out to be pain free I have had to take medication. The amount of pain caused me to take more of my medication than prescribed (shame on me). However, when I try to ask about a different medication or different dose I have been told I have to schedule an appointment and this usually happens before I can refill my prescriptions. Now I know this is mostly my fault as I should take my prescriptions as prescribed but when I cannot pick up my kids to play with them, or get up and down and around at work I feel like medicine is the only thing that can help =(. 4) With my most recent "lack of proper communication" with nurse Lisa I have been put on a medication now that is keeping me from going into terrible withdrawals. It was said this medicine is also good for pain but has not helped out any more than taking a max daily amount of Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Lisa told the DR I was taking quadrupel (which was inaccurate, it was close to double and a dose I had been on a month before) my pain meds. I was told I was abusing my drugs and would no longer be prescribed opioid pain medicine. I am mostly okay because I don't want to be dependent on a drug for life but it made me feel very uncomfortable and like I was a druggie. Also it was the only medicine that made the pain tolerable daily with me have just getting used to the side effects. I am praying my newest injection will last longer than a few days and I can sleep and live pain free again. 5) There is a number to call if you need to speak with someone after hours. I was having a reaction to a new medicine and when I called the number to get advice I was connected to Dr White directly. I did not know this and he was angry with me calling so late but I had no idea who I was being transferred to ( I assumed an on call nurse). The reaction was to a medication I haven taking for over 8 years and he didn't know I was on it!!!! Now you could say "Did you tell him" and the answer is not only yes, but they make you sign a paper every time you go in confirming your current medications! I feel like I should have been warned of this prior to switching medications rather than possibly not waking up the next morning. So my overall score is a 4 out of 5 because he and his team (minus one) do everything they can to accommodation you. Everything is done in the office, same day and he genuinely cares about helping you. I love Kris and Gregg and Dr White and I hope one day we can find a magic potion to make me pain free, but I Can assure you Dr. White will try everything he can! read more
