Over the course of the last 3 years I can confidently tell you what an amazing man and hidden gem he is. A crisis in our country is the state of the healthcare industry and the toll it takes on providers. Providers can become so overworked or burnt out that they forget to see their patient as a person or have so little time that spending any extra time advocating can seem daunting. Dr. Gburek found me at the lowest point in my life. By simply listening to me, treating me like a human being, and advocating for me; he made all the difference in the world. He carefully made care plans based on my life goals like having children and factors such as my age to refer me to specialists. I had a unique case where I became medically handicapped in terms of medication. Steroids and NSAIDs cause me to develop stomach issues I had never even heard of. Stomach issues that caused me to be unable to eat regularly for nearly an entire year. I was wasting away to nothing while I waited for Cigna or any doctor to help me. I had lost 20 pounds unintentionally in 365 days. He tried to send me to specialists that could find an answer for my symptoms, but to my dismay, those specialists had no answer for me or even any ideas of how to help me. If you've ever been in that position you know how lonely and desolate it can be. It was traumatic To even be brought to that point I spent years of my life arguing with Cigna that my life mattered but, naturally, they only want to hear what the doctor thinks. Even if that doctor has not throughly completed an assessment, offered any treatments aside from medication, or been inappropriate with your care. Dr. Gburek is not one of those providers. He takes your health and goals seriously and will advocate to give you your life back. He is the only provider who advocated for me with Cigna over the last 3 years. My health struggles robbed me of my identity and I believed there was no hope. Dr. Gburek did not leave me with no hope and he did not leave me without solution. Instead, he fought for me and saved my life. By giving me a life with manageable pain, I am able to pick back up the pieces of who I used to be and who I want to become while continuing to help others as he helped me. I want providers like Dr. Gburek to know how important their care is so they don't lose sight of why they do this and continue to help people. I want patients to see this and know that there is hope for your case. He deserves all the praise and I am incredibly thankful for my healthcare hero. The injections were quick and smooth (not going to say painless because that would be lying) but if you can't have it a little pain, they have the option for a local and aesthetic. If you are dealing with back or hip pain or pain in general your body, I would highly recommend scheduling a visit through your doctor.

When Dr. Alan Silberberg walked into the consultation room, shook my hand, sat down and opened with, "I've studied your MRI images carefully, and you're in a real pickle here, buddy," I knew I'd met my doctor. He radiates intelligence the way my Dad did, and he's extremely blunt and direct and doesn't sugarcoat the facts--all the elements I need in a doctor for me to feel confident I'm in good hands. We've taken the approach of doing spinal epidurals (the same treatment that was very effective for me with the original injury), and I had my first session this week. I was face down on an operating table, so I can't visually describe what was done, but I can say that the needles weren't artlessly jammed into my lower back, they were slowly finessed into the damaged areas, and the steroid/pain killer mix was injected slowly and then with a more steady progression. The artful skill being utilized here was quite noticeable and greatly appreciated, and it clearly minimized the application pain (I chose no sedation). This doctor's impressive online CV most definitely matches his performance. Dr. Silberberg is surrounded by a top-notch staff of clinical professionals and front end office people, mostly an all-female crew. I've encountered nothing but friendly and polite helpfulness from everybody, both on the phone and in person. If they can maintain their level of excellence, friendliness and efficiency across the board, then I hope they corner the market here in Central Texas. Many from the Oakwood surgery center claimed to not know how to find this out. Until I talked to the older lady at the front. She knew a little about how you can request someone. I called and called and no one got back to me until the day before the surgery. But I did some research of my own and found the Austin Anesthiology Group supplied the Oakwood surgery center. I was most impressed by the backgrounds of doctors Orth, Eddings and Patel. Well at of these only Eddings was willing to make it. So the day of surgery I am in the hospital bed and I had a panic attack because the young nurse kept talking about complications like bleeding, blood vessel damage. Suddenly my blood pressure drops and I am covered in sweat. Just then Dr. Eddings comes in and I thank him for making it and he's like of course. He doesn't draw attention to my condition and just winks at my husband and says after we interview you i've got the good stuff in my pocket-that will make you not even care about any of this. I remember thinking that's impossible. Another impressing thing was that he remembered all of my prep interview that I filled out online and doubled checked with me about the important items. Then sure enough after I was given "the good stuff" I felt good enough to put all my trust in my doctors and announce that they would surely do their best and that I would see them later. I was put in the OR and the general "stuff" burned like hell. Dr. Eddings very professionally said, we will help you with that. What he meant was you'll be out in a few seconds but he chose to not draw attention to the fact that I would soon be under the knife but instead comforted me with what words he chose to use. Very, very skilled professional! He was also reasonable about the amount to pain meds and the type and made sure my husband got them to me exactly 5 hours after surgery. I've had surgery before and trust me-you NEVER want to feel ALL of that post surgery pain. I can't say enough about this doctor!!! I would trust him with my life and the life of my loved ones over and over! 8D

Patients were never notified beforehand -- no call, message, letter, or any other communication. Finding out at an appointment that your physician had already left weeks earlier is unprofessional and unacceptable for continuity of care. The core issue is a lack of integrity in how this transition was handled toward patients in a pain clinic setting, where individuals are already dealing with significant ongoing suffering and dependence on consistent care. Abruptly leaving without proper notice shows a concerning lack of consideration and accountability toward those relying on treatment. If there was a reasonable explanation for the abrupt departure, it was never communicated to patients. Even in difficult or unfavorable situations, patients deserve a basic level of transparency and a diplomatically delivered explanation, particularly when ongoing care is involved. Even Ying appeared uncomfortable being left to explain the situation to surprised patients arriving expecting to see their physician. To be clear, the issue is not that a doctor changes practices or opens a new clinic -- that is understandable. The issue is how it was handled. Patients deserved honesty, transparency, professionalism, and integrity throughout that transition. UPDATE to previous review: Dr. Kim's response does not address the central concern raised in the original review -- the lack of communication and failure to notify established patients prior to his departure from the practice. It does not acknowledge the impact on patients who arrived for scheduled care and were only then informed he was no longer with the clinic. The response also does not include any apology to patients affected by the lack of notice and disruption in continuity of care. The use of the word "unfortunately" comes across as dismissive in context and does not address the underlying concerns regarding patient communication or continuity of care. Additionally, it references a "2024/2025" departure timeline, which is inconsistent with what patients were told by the practice (May 24, 2024) and does not align with what we experienced firsthand on June 4, when patients arrived for appointments and found he was already no longer there. I considered four stars for that reason but decided I didn't want people to see a lower rating and think it was due to Dr. White's skill. I was in the hospital from June 19th (Father's Day -0 until July 5th). I was being financially responsible. I had a health insurance policy with US Health / Freedom Life that was over $800 / month (not affordable!) However, once admitted with a life-threatening diagnosis of Chronic Systolic Heart Failure, I learned that my insurance was basically worthless. I had a popliteal nerve block performed by Dr. Ravneet Biring of Austin Anesthesia Group, before a…read morecheilectomy. After surgery, I developed extreme numbness, nerve pain, and muscle atrophy that I did not have before the procedure. EMG and Nerve Conduction testing later confirmed a nerve injury involving the distal sciatic nerve and its peroneal and tibial branches. I have lived with debilitating nerve pain for nearly 2 years and still have numbness, tingling, pain, and weakness in my foot that prevent me from doing many activities I enjoyed before surgery. Most upsetting was the lack of follow-up. I made repeated attempts to contact Dr. Biring or someone with Austin Anesthesia Group and despite leaving multiple messages, never received a call back. I finally learned that Austin Anesthesia Group was affiliated with NAPA and filed a patient complaint with NAPA regarding my concerns and was told I would receive a response within 30 business days. It took 6 months of repeated calls and filing a BBB complaint before I received a response stating my case had been reviewed and denied. I filed a formal claim with the liability insurance company for Austin Anesthesia Group which was rejected with no explanation despite extensive documentation of my nerve injury and lack of communication from NAPA and Austin Anesthesia Group. The lack of timely response created a significant barrier to getting the treatment I needed, and I was left to navigate and finance treatment myself. I am now almost 2 years post-surgery and am faced with the reality that my nerve injury is permanent. My mission is to make sure the public is aware of the negligence of this group and that no one has to go through the same nightmare I have been through.
