Recently hired Ergeon to replace the fence in my backyard. The good: they responded quickly to my inquiry, set up a consultation over video-chat and gave us an estimate quickly. The not so great: they were booked for several weeks out, so it was almost a month before we got the work done, but they warned me about this upfront, and I don't fault a business for being busy, as long as they communicate well. There was also some miscommunication between the office staff and the crew, but that was also resolved quickly. The verdict: Ergeon did a good job on installation, my new fence looks great, and I was also able to negotiate some extra hauling away. Despite the couple of hiccups along the way, they earned their 5 stars, and I'd trust them to replace another fence in the future. read more

From start to finish, Ergeon demonstrates diligence and transparency, from the estimate to completion. I asked what the name 'Ergeon' means and Kelly told me that it's a portmanteau or a blending of 'Ergonomic' and 'Eon', as in time. I like it. Sounds Elvish! When it comes to securing a .com for a business, a portmanteau is a perfect solution. Part of our fence fell over with the heavy rain on 9/11 so this wasn't a luxury upgrade so much as an expensive necessity. I initially reached out on a Sunday through Yelp looking for fence contractors, and Sue C. responded to me the same day! Amazing. This initially got my attention as that's some good customer service right there. She was friendly and informative and this was a great first contact. Ergeon's site is modern, orderly, and has good gallery/customer pictures, which is absolutely critical to seeing the product. Picture size and quality is critical, though to be fair Ergeon cannot control customer choices here, though they may only use the best pictures. Kelly and I discussed my fencing needs and she was able to assess how much fence I would need right over a meeting app. That worked perfectly for this busy professional and I didn't have to carve out time (usually too early) to deal with a contractor checking the site. Kelly answered all of my questions, offered several options to review, and was a pleasure to deal with. Denisse managed everything after I agreed to move forward and she too was pleasant, informative, patient, and responsive. She worked around my schedule (not early) and that was much appreciated, as I was in a very busy period at work and working very late. Ergeon's pricing was aligned with other vendors, more expensive than the cheapest super bright white vinyl fence, but less expensive than more expensive vinyl fencing (such as darker colors or reinforced vinyl). I love the idea of vinyl fencing but can't deal with the super bright and reflective white, so we went for the redwood option to somewhat match our existing wood fence. Ergeon had many options for fencing, from wood to vinyl, and their website is modern and informative. When I think about pricing, I don't want the cheapest option necessarily, I want the best company and best product for the best price. There's a huge difference there, because doing it right matters to me. Fences as we know are with us for years. An important distinction too is the fact that Ergeon was ready NOW to install the fence, not weeks out. While it's good that a business is booked solidly, it's not a great way to earn new business. The fact that they were able to start as soon as my HOA approval came in was a definitely bonus. Also, and this is important, Ergeon's very clean and organized pre-installation plot plan satisfied my HOA because they couldn't make heads or tails of a different company's plan. Ergeon's clearly defined plan using Google satellite imagery was clever and insightful, and it's the same thing I would have done if I were doing this myself. Except, I'm not a fence installer. Ergeon had all of the measurements and wood type and fence height in their proposal and the HOA understood it on the first try. Dealing with the HOA was the worst part for me, but Ergeon made this way easier. Seriously, the first HOA person I was dealing with would take a WEEK to respond to an email. Ergeon handled all the permitting and details before digging, which is important as we don't want anyone busting gas lines on the property. So, we know the fence is to code and disasters were averted. A company that doesn't go through permitting may be cheaper, but that cost-saving can really cost you. The actual installation took a day, and this included teardown and removal of remaining original fence. The workers didn't ask to use the restroom and although I offered, it was nice that they were so self-contained and that I could focus on my work without having to manage or track anyone in the house. We didn't go for full footing removal from the old fence but this is an option for those who want it, at extra cost. There was a mishap with 3 damaged screens from someone carrying a support beam or something, but Ergeon immediately replaced those screens on their dime, as it should be. I wasn't too happy that this happened in the first place but they did make it right, and I'm not docking their rating for it. The true test of a company's ethics and diligence is how they handle situations like this. The workers were respectful of us and the property, and cleaned up after themselves. I always notice this, and Ergeon performed solidly here. Communication from everyone was top notch, and I can honestly highly recommend this company to anyone. I would absolutely call them for the rest of my fencing should the need or desire arise. Great job, Ergeon. We love the fence and the neighbor called me to say how beautiful it was. We were looking for a company to install a privacy fence to separate our yard from a busy street. This street is the route that lots of 7-11 customers use on their way home. We were spending a good deal of time picking up trash left in our yard. We chose Ergeon because they were very quick in getting us a very reasonable quote. After they got all the permits, they had our fence up in no time at all. Only about two months after the fence was completed, a drunken teenager ran their car through the fence and punched a 20 foot hole in it.
