$20 Hailey Bieber smoothie. Greatest smoothie ? In the conversation, but price = unjustified .
    Daniel B.

Erewhon's slogan should be: 'Yes you really did just pay that.' $20 smoothie? Hell yeah, I'm there. Erewhon, the crème de le crème, the alpha and omega, the pretentious to the upscale . To those who pay obeisance to fresh is as fresh itself . Erewhon is organic on top of your organic. Why not pay $30 for disposable 'eco friendly' toothbrush and probiotic, auto-immune all natural , anti nitrates face masks for a very reasonable and affordable price of $79.99? I will forever and always be a once a year casual shopper. Or at least that is what I told the cashier before turning down her offer to sign me up for their rewards program. So I got a windfall recently, so I thought I'd treat myself to a twenty dollar smoothie. I ordered the Hailey Bieber Strawberry glaze- skin smoothie. Described as : Made with creamy almond milk organic strawberries and avocado it offers a delightful blend of textures and flavors. Enhanced with collagen and sea moss for added benefits. Those ingredients are: Malk Organic Almond Milk, Organic Banana, Organic Strawberries, Organic Avocado, Organic Dates, Organic Maple Syrup, Vital Proteins Vanilla Collagen, Vanilla Stevia, Sea Moss, Zuma Valley Organic Coconut Cream, Driscoll's Organic Strawberry Glaze. As you can see, the above ingredients are top-top -- the very best organic, fresh and expensive ingredients possible at a supermarket. The vanilla stevia and Sea Moss? No idea. What is that? Almond milk base instead of yogurt, Its very fruity in the best way possible, and the coconut cream and the syrup gives it a more sweeter coat because the underlying ingredients are only fresh-fruit natural sweet. As the smoothie waters wane, the sweetness gets a little watery and diluted. The coconut cream/syrup really are the spine of the drink as they are more concentrated on the abdomen and top of the drink. Now is this a good smoothie? Yes. Is it $20 good? Hell no. Anything less than the best smoothie in my life would make the price unjustifiable. It's very good. Not Best. It's not like I'm craving it, so this is a one and done. But if money is no object, then this smoothie is definitely for you.

I didn't actually get groceries here because $$$$ but I did come to try THE viral Hailey Bieber smoothie. It was honestly quite tasty! $20 tasty? I wouldn't be repeatedly dropping $20 for a smoothie but worth the try, it was good!

I have to say it: the hailey bieber smoothie is delicious. Maybe not exactly $18 delicious, but I don't have regrets that I tried it once! It's a really unique flavor and the perfect consistency. Love the addition of coconut cream too. Just so good!! Am I really tempted to go back to spend even more money on the other smoothie flavors here? Yes. It's probably a blessing that I don't live in LA, otherwise I'd probably be spending way too much money on the smoothies here. Did I decide to also wander the aisles of this store pretending like I could afford any of the items on the shelves? Yes. Did I laugh for a really long time at the $25 jarred pasta sauce I found here? Also yes. The outdoor seating at this location is really nice -- it's good for people watching while you sip your smoothie LOL. The smoothie was ready so quickly and came out as beautiful and aesthetic as all the pics you see online.

Don't love this Erewhon location. For some reason the higher ups here just rub me the wrong way. They're snootier, and come across entitled. I'd rather make the drive to the Venice and Grove locations, than go to his one they is just a mile from my house.

The epitome of extravagance, the Pacific Palisades Erewhon is certainly not quiet about its luxuriousness. I had to come here to try the $18 smoothies and peruse the aisles of this laughably overpriced store (I mean Japanese sweet potatoes for 3.29/lb? Hmart sells 30 lb for $20). I will admit, the collagen swirl added great contrast and a nice touch of heterogeneity to an otherwise perfectly blended, one-note smoothie. And, this smoothie is admittedly one of the best I've ever had. I'm not sure if I can ever justify the price of something as simple as a smoothie. A pig with lipstick is still a pig and a smoothie with opulent ingredients is still a smoothie at its core. The store's sky high prices for basic produce and bulk foods feels almost dystopian and helps you gain a sense of appreciation for the privilege to not live in a food desert. Considering the fact that Erewhon is a place devoid of affordable prices or at the very least, decent prices, I'm not sure if id come again. Well...maybe for the Instagram-famous sushi sandwich, but I promise that'll (probably) be the last time.

I am sadly not loaded enough to shop here on the regular (or ever), but it's a beautiful market. If you are someone who laughs at Whole Foods prices, think twice before going to Erewhon. Funnies aside, Erewhon is a Certified B Corporation, which I actually think is very important. If the expensive prices reflect their practices that are more environmentally/agriculturally/socially responsible in the current economy, then they should absolutely carry on because these practices have to start somewhere until it becomes mainstream. There is a nice coffee spot inside near the registers with friendly staff. I get coffee and bakery items from here once in a while.

I always stop by when I'm near Erewhon to see if something new catches my eye. I'm not a regular shopper here but I enjoy their coffee bar and food court a lot. Great coffee drinks and pastries. Also the food is really good for lunch or any time of the day. This location is very nice.

Erewhon more like erewhat? I found out about this "physical embodiment of what people think LA is" on the one and only Tik Tok. After reading an article about its origins I had to go and see what it was about especially as a native angeleno. Listen, I'm not here to dock it for its price. I think you already know what to expect and I wasn't coming in here for groceries. I'm knocking a star off for its hospitality. Ya'll got a lot of color in the store but perhaps don't look at someone with some color sideways walking into your store. With that being said I came for the hype. Circling back, this place is colorful and bright and airy. It's what I'd imagine if Whole Foods married up. While some regular store products are ticked up in this particular store, most in-aisle products were similarly priced as I would see at a specialty store. Will I buy sliced cucumbers for $8 or a mason jar of raw almonds for $18, probably not, but if you like more ethical farming practices, this would be the place to buy from. Ordered: Zucchini loaf slice - $5. Of course I had to actually buy one of their pre-made products which they had plenty of. If I had a trust fund I feel like I would eat out of here because a lot of it looked pretty good. The loaf was average in its flavor however. Sparkling Water - $3 I wish I had the nodes to taste water but I don't. This was more carbonated than I imagined though. More than La Croix Parking: 5/5 There is a parking structure off of the street side which is free for two hours I believe.

Surprised the nearly $20 "Strawberry Glaze" smoothie was worth the price. I would recommend trying this place. Everything was fresh and organic from the produce to the hot food bar.

Fish Combo Plate Fish 2 Sides- salmon, Buffalo cauliflower, Mac and Cheese
    Maylee W.

The hot food area was very crowded at 7:30 pm! There were 6 people in front of me, but the line moves quickly... I ordered the fish combo dinner at $24/pound - baked salmon; Mac and cheese and Buffalo cauliflower- all delicious! The cauliflower was incredible- looks like it was fried but oh well I really enjoyed it. I guess my fish combo dinner was quite heavy ( heavy fried cauliflower!) the entree was $28... Food -4 stars Service -4 stars - there was a super long line to pay - I had to wait about 5 minutes for the next cashier- I must admit going to an Erewhon store is quite the grocery shopping experience- every item is displayed attractively, the deli food looks delicious, even the take away containers of pre-packaged food looks appetizing... very expensive but you need to splurge once in a while!

I'll keep this semi brief & not so sweet. Was in the Palisades this past Sunday and the weather was extremely hot, so we wanted a quick & easy, cold food, late lite lunch - opposed to hot food & table service, and agreed on sushi. Had great experiences with the sushi at the Venice location. And with the prices Erewhon charges, it better be good! Especially since they're supposed to have the highest of quality products & items. Well, let me just say, the sushi at this location had absolutely no flavor. The soy sauce was nasty & wrank and smelled like dog! The wasabi was totally off. All 4 pieces of the (hamachi) yellowtail sushi was so bad we couldn't even bite through it, and there were scales throughout. One of the 2 pieces of tuna sushi was layered with scales too. The 2 pieces of salmon sushi had no flavor whatsoever, but was the only thing in the mixed nigiri sushi tray that wasn't rough cuts. The cuts of fish were nicely sized but it was more to be disappointed about. The tuna/avocado/cucumber roll was absolutely tasteless, the avocado had zero flavor, and the seaweed was chewy. In addition, all the sushi rice was undercooked. Not cool. And hate when this happens! Wasn't until we started eating and realized it sucked...and I couldn't even bite through my first piece of yellowtail, and then had to spit out a scale. TMI? Well, it's true. Then I enlarged the picture I took of the sushi, and the scales in the yellowtail sushi were clearly noticeable (see pics included in review) Lastly, the cashier was so unfriendly. She didn't greet us nor say thank you or goodbye or have a nice day or whatever. We're very nice & friendly people and go out of our way to be kind customers. Never had such poor customer service like this at Erewhon stores before and it was obvious this person was bitter & not having a good day. But would it be asking too much to fake it? We were still nice but it felt as if we worked there and she was a grumpy customer. Between the awful sushi & customer service, it was one of our worst $32 quick lunch experiences in a loooog time. Good thing we didn't have to waste an additional 25-30% for tax & tip ;) Have had better grocery store sushi at Ralph's! Epic fail, Pacific Palisades Erewhon and it's a good thing we didn't get sick from this meal.

This particular Erewhon location is one of the most attractive grocery stores you will find. I don't know how they do it--tons of work to keep so many fresh thing in stock. My hat is off to all the great employees here that keep this store going. And try the Erewhon breads--some of the best. It's not my regular shopping spot--just select items--because it's expensive, but if you are looking for quality and organics--check them out. Tell them David D. from Yelp sent you and they will give you 0% off your bill.

The protein bowl was extremely sweet, and the vanilla protein powder flavor was very overpowering. I understand that this may simply be how the item is prepared, so I'm not criticizing the quality or recipe. However, it wasn't to my taste and I couldn't eat it after just one spoonful. I asked the very nice employees if it would be possible to receive store credit instead. She was very kind and said she would need to check with the manager. When the manager came over, he initially seemed dismissive and asked what I meant by "too sweet." I calmly explained that it just wasn't to my personal taste and it is very sweet, and I can't touch it. I didn't want a replacement or money back , only store credit. He said OK and left... Shortly after, another staff member approached with a 25% discount coupon for a future visit left it on the table and left. I felt this response was not appropriate, especially since I already discussed this with the Manager. After some discussion between the two owners/managers, they eventually agreed to provide the store credit. In my opinion, this was a straightforward situation that could have been handled more smoothly. As a customer, I made a reasonable request and was not looking for anything beyond a fair resolution. From a management perspective, I believe it's important to listen to customer feedback and resolve concerns without unnecessary friction.

It's usually been an older crowd that's wanted whatever health products were popular 10-20 years ago. At one point during the late 90's and early 00's, it was tremendously popular with the celebrity class of LA, and it was Erewhon before there was Erewhon. It has since drifted into a more relaxed, slightly frumpier incarnation now in 2026. As you can see from all the 1 and 5 star reviews, it's a place that inspires both stubborn loyalty and intense frustration in equal measure, and I think that about sums up experience for the uninitiated. You'll see that I've split the difference with this 3 star review in an attempt to capture reality. This is far from a perfect grocery store -- the prices are high, a lot of the produce is not looking so good, the milk is always about to expire, the aisles are poorly organized, they're missing lots of things you want. But it's also a real co-op and not a chain, it's possible to eat healthfully from here, and they are extremely responsive to their member's (numerously and frequently delusional and extremely SaMo) requests. The angry reviews about bad service here are overblown; I've been here dozens of times and never had a problem. And as long as it's member-owned, it can always change for the better very quickly, which I've seen happen here before, and may happen again. Personally, my reason for not shopping here is just the poor organization of the store overall, selection of dry goods which are widely second-rate to me, and shabby, soon-to-be-expiring produce and perishables attached to a luxury price. I see no reason to shop here when I have the SaMo farmer's market AND better organized specialty stores like Erehwon or McCall's right near by -- which are, despite what numerous reviews here desperately proclaim, the exact same price point as Co-Opportunity. I hope this clears up why the reviews here are all-over-the-place, it's because the store is too!

So... take my review seriously!!! I tried almost all their food and can give a detailed rundown on each one. They have amazing, amazing, amazing food made with love here and employees that are incredibly kind and funny. They're welcoming and you can tell they really enjoy working at Rainbow Acres and want to spread good vibes. Their food is made in house, from scratch, exactly what it is. No food dyes or processing. Just fresh, straightforward food for a good price. RAINBOW ACRES MADE ME SHED A TEAR. I was so incredibly ecstatic to find an healthy, grocery CO-OP near me. The smoothies are great, they sometimes have samples. They're all delicious and they also can be paid with EBT. Their guac and chips was actually the best I've ever had from a grocery store. The guacamole had enough salt and lime, like... whole foods and chipotle guac was PUT TO SHAME. Well-seasoned, super chunky, cilantro, red onion, tomato, mmm, and those chips were actually fresh tortilla chips. So crunchy and light. So yum. God. Their sandwich was insane. Slices and heaps of chicken breast for double the price of a sprouts sandwich and quadruple times more tasty. Don't second guess it, just get it!!! BBQ chicken and ranch salad was insane. I ate it in like 10 mins and my stomach was bulging. When you see it, it will be irresistible. The grilled chicken is marinated and covered in a sweet bbq sauce and their housemade ranch is seasoned deeply, comparable to wingstop's ranch. Crunchy lil tortilla chips and crunchy salad with some roasted corn. Every single thing in that plate had its own flavor, unlike the prepackaged slop at other stores. However, it was close to $20... The fruit tart was FRESH and yummy, a tad sweet, but all the fruit was incredibly quality. The crust left a little to be desired, but great nonetheless. Their hot deli food is great too. We got a parm crusted chicken breast and it was very juicy and flavorful. The samples were great, even their curry is packed with flavor. Their turkey chili was insanely hearty and delicious, thankfully not too salty. chili mango is the best my boyfriend claims he's ever had. immense selection of unique canned and bottled drinks. They make their own green smoothies and juices in glass bottles, but there's also local branded magnesium teas, adaptogens, sparkling waters, etc. LOTS AND LOTS of vegan options. Great selection of teas and medicinal herbs and pure oils meant for the skin. I picked up some grapeseed oil and snacks. Some of the prices here are cheaper than whole foods, but some are more expensive. I really love Rainbow Acres, but some of their prices can be expensive. However, when factoring in the quality, freshness, and how the food is SIMPLE AND CLEAN AND HOPEFULLY AS ETHICAL AS IT CAN BE, it justifies the prices. The employees are always helpful, so it does help to imagine that the higher prices go to them as well. I'm really happy that this place exists. It's not pretentious and makes clean eating accessible for anyone.

Definitely definitely DEFINITELY recommend. I can't believe this place has been here so long and I…read moredidn't know about it. Actually- I stopped I'm once for vitamins and didn't realize the full layout... make sure to take a stroll down every nook & cranny so you know what's available. My most recent experience was wonderful. Even thought it was New Years Eve, I was still able to find the ingredients I needed. Erin was especially resourceful in helping me boogie around the market and gather the items I needed in a pinch (the caviar my friend brought over that eve wouldn't have hit the same without this stop lol). If Whole Foods, Erewhon, the Farmers Market, and the Co-Op of Santa Monica had a reasonably affordable baby... it would be named Rainbow Acres
