First of all, super hard parking and hard to find. It's inside a gym. But it's easy to find if youre walking. Customer service is bad. They're so rude. I just read one of the reviews that one of the employees here said " I don't care, I didn't make it". I totally can see that happening. I was helped by one lady, she wasn't rude but she wasn't listening. I only came here because I saw on yelp that they had an happy hour smoothie. I told her I didn't want to spend anything more than $5. Especially if it's small and happy hour. She rung me up for a drink that was almost 8 dollars. And literally. It was so complicated. I told her, anything under 5, anything kale or spinach. But her and this other lady kept on making it complicated. It was frustrating. After making the order complicated, the total was $8. DID YOU NOT HEAR WHAT I SAID 3 TIMES TO YOU? Sheesh. So annoyed. Then had to start over and literally, picked one a whole name to it! Would you look at that! "GREEN DETOX". It was okay. Just okay. I actually discovered the great cafe by using the Ritual App, which is offering $1 special on their signature, protein fortified banana-peanut butter smoothie, which normally costs $10! This offer only applies if you sign up and use Apple Pay thru May 10th! The space is located in a luxurious, downtown Santa Monica office building, which also includes complimentary subterranean parking, and is also open very early, close to 6am! Miles was super helpful and friendly and shared great, infectious positive energy at 7am! I noted how slow and inconvenient the elevators can be, as I must have waited close to 5-minutes to get back to t'garage. Unfortunately, one of the three elevators was inoperable and the other two were exceedingly busy and slow at the 7am hour. Interestingly, I was able to swiftly and easily use the stairwell to exit the building, but unfortunately, the stairwell is locked from the street exit. It's so smooth and creamy and the right touch of cacao - I'll get it for a breakfast or quick lunch. It's also 547 calories so it's definitely not something I try to do often. The great breakfast is a good option and will also get you very full. I tend to get that one whenever I'm at the LAX store and want to have something to tide me over flights. The flax master is also a good option and always surprises me by how purple it is. That's just a random comment, it doesn't affect the taste or anything, which is also a properly blended smoothie with some flax oil inside or it. The service is quick although sometimes they do take a second to break away from chatting with coworkers to ask what you need. They take credit card and you pay before they make your smoothie. There are some indoor tables but the music is slightly too loud to have a proper conversation so I'd recommend taking your smoothies outside and walking along the promenade or sitting on a bench on the palisades. Connected to Equinox, Earthbar has standard vegan and organic smoothies. While it is a part of equinox, you don't need a membership to come in and buy a smoothie. In terms of quality the smoothies are fine, lots of healthy add-ons are possible from extra protein to bees pollen. The taste is ok, the protein they use in their shakes creates a chalky taste and texture. Normally I might give this a higher rating than 3 stars, but if you go to a Barry's Bootcamp or an Equinox in the eastern part of the country (or Midwest, Chicago Equinoxes have Wellness Grub in them which are AMAZING!) you'll find smoothie bars in the gym that are much better. They are not overly sweet and they don't have a lot of calories. They are actually super healthy. You really need to try this place you will feel so good after one of their incredible smoothies. This earth bar is nothing compared to their main flagship one on Santa Monica Blvd in WeHo (obviously) but it's good enough when you want to pick up a snack post workout. They stock lots of pre-cooked packaged hot foods, cold pressed juices and what not. I actually LOVED their pre-made food (they will heat it up for you too, if you're looking to eat it right away.) my favorites are the Grilled Chicken & Yams (only 210+ calories and all deliciousness), the Paleo Chicken as well as anything from they Raw Vegan Kitchen series (must get the Raw Pad Thai!) My only thing about this earth bar is that their smoothies are very inconsistent. Some days they are delicious and some days they are disgusting (I've had to trash mine a couple of times right after getting it) just depending on who makes it. They stock cold pressed juices too that are pre-made which is nice and convenient but I'd say taste mediocre compared to places like pressed juicery or moon juice, a couple of miles away. This is very convenient place to come get a shot or a cold pressed juice. The cashier was informative and really enthusiastic. I was fighting a cold and he suggested I get the ginger shot. I would've liked the ginger shot to have a stronger kick; kind of like Pressed Juicery. Really good smoothies as well, they don't use any weird ingredients that you can't pronounce, just actual fruit and non-dairy liquid options.
