The pig races are nostalgic because I remember the little piglets competing for Oreos when I was a kid! It was very informative about how they rescued these horses and the work behind it to get them healthy. Very generous hosts and afterwards they let us tour the ranch and pet some of the horses. Definitely would love to book a private tour and bring more people. It would be great for a group bonding experience as well.

But at least early evenings it's been tough to sit outside in this weather. I wonder if a large fan or misters would help? Food seemed acceptable although somewhat limited and basic. Charcuterie board was okay but nothing on it overly special. Need to do a better job updating website. Not everyone has Facebook or Instagram. For example tonight was "80's night" but the website had it as July 31st, a week ago. And in the graphic it was listed as 7pm to 11pm but on the events calendar 6:45pm to 10:45pm. I also see an upcoming murder mystery dinner for August 29th that is not even listed on the events calendar. Closing due to private events should also be clearly communicated. Clarity and correctness matters. Then on tonight's bill there was an extra $5 added to a $12 glass of wine. On the requested receipt, it looks like maybe a glass charge? Which was never offered or accepted. And unfortunately since they hand you a handheld electronic device as your "bill" with only the grand total showing instead of the itemized bill, it's difficult to figure out what you're paying for. I will be back. I want this place to succeed. But there is definitely room for improvement.

There is a gorgeous garden, which is a photographers playground -- bees, beautiful butterflies and hummingbirds pollinating all around and enjoying the sweet nectar. Flowers everywhere -- it is so beautiful! It was super quiet as I walked around, it was just me and two hikers that went down to the little trail and back. This is such a wonderful play for kids! There are turkeys walking around loose, that just pass by, so used to humans, obviously. There are two pigs in a pen, a few goats chilling on their tables and a horse, two donkeys in the barn. Friendly, and curious if I had treats to give. (Which you can feed some of the animals, others have signs not too.) Groundhogs running around too but they do hide! Not scary at all. Lots of space for a shaded picnic lunch and a good sized play area for kids. It's well worth checking out. It is gorgeously maintained and the animals are beautiful, so very well taken care of. Just go, already -- It's good for the soul! :) Will definitely be back.
