These guys are excellent! Called them to clean some grout in the house and the showers. The grout looks cleaner and better then the day it was installed. They used some type of color sealant after a deep cleaning to keep it looking good. While there, I asked them about sealing some natural stone I had, and ended up asking them to just do it while they were there. Very accommodating and patient with all my questions. Honestly one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Needed them to fix some grout that was causing a leak below. They charged a lot of money and it was a very small section. Came out right away when I needed a repair done. Gave me an estimate and scheduled the repair. I asked for grout repair in the bottom of my shower. The job was quoted @ $750. Guy came and used a grout like caulking for so called repair. I was expecting grout and even offered them our leftover bag from the original install. He was in our home about two hours. Caulking started peeling away from tile less than 6 months after $750 "repair". Said they would email a receipt - never got one. I emailed company last week ergroutandtile@gmail.com with no response back. The sad thig is when he came for an initial quote he had a young man with him. Emil and his crew came out and did a lot of work on my tile. They first cleaned it and then sealed it with a color match seal. He repaired numerous tiles that had cracks in them and the grout was coming apart. The finished product was more than I could have imagined. It's like brand new tile. Emil is very professional and very nice. He treats your home like it was his own. He responded quickly to my call and had the best value of anyone else. I am preparing to put my house up for sale and I needed to have some cracked tiles replaced, missing grout replaced, overall cleaning of tiles and grout, along with grout re-staining. The good: Emil responded within minutes to my inquiry and came out the next morning to provide a quote. The not so good: a) He only provided a verbal quote, nothing in writing at all. Total estimate was barely under 3K. b) He would only replace 1 of the 3 cracked tiles due to 2 of them being up against the floor molding. He stated he would make the other 2 cracked tiles unnoticeable. c) He told me that cleaning, missing grout, and re-staining of grout would be done only on the traffic areas, as my existing rugs and furniture would cover the non-traffic areas and therefore would be un-noticeable to prospective house buyers, even though I told him the house would be empty when on the market. d) They could complete the work in half a day and could quickly fit me into their schedule. Estimate provided Friday - work could be done Monday morning. The horrible a) I called Emil at noon on Sunday (left message as they were closed) to see if I could reschedule for a week out - the following Monday. Emil called me back less than 15 minutes later and sounded quite upset that I had called while he was in church (phone calls are apparently forwarded to his phone during after hours). When I told him I needed to reschedule out another week, he went into a complete rant /tirade that made it sound like I was cancelling rather than postponing. I told him that my house was in complete disarray due to my selling furniture and packing up items and the floors were not accessible. He only offered to delay their work until Thursday, rather than the following week, stating that the following week was completely booked. I said I would try to make that work but I would be getting ready for a garage sale on Thursday...not a great day for me. b) By Tuesday, I had more time to think through his reaction toward my re-scheduling and I started thinking that maybe they weren't the company I should be going with. I found a different highly rated company and had them provide me with an estimate Wednesday morning. Their estimate was less than half the cost, all 3 cracked tiles would be replaced, cleaning and grout stain would be done throughout, and the work would take 2 days to complete. Full estimate was provided in writing. c) I called Emil on Wednesday to cancel, and he was furious. He was incredibly disrespectful and spiteful. He told me to admit that I was just playing with them from the start, etc., etc. Why would anyone just play a company along???? He was totally out of control, rude (mean), and wouldn't listen. I ended up having to tell him "I'm done" and hung up. Save your time, $'s, and sanity and go with a different company. read more

Emil came out to assess my tile grout issue. He was extremely honest and told me how to resolve the issue without using his services. If I still wanted his services after taking his recommendation, of course he would be glad to help, but what honesty and integrity as a business owner! We even took his referral for a kitchen back splash job that I needed and it turned out fantastic! I will definitely use his services when I really need tile/grout work in the future. read more

Be aware of the owner, Emil Bortis! He will promise and say anything to get your work, and then he will deny his commitments, cash your check earlier than when he says and he will not finish the job. On top of that he will insult you by saying "you must have me confused with some other company, I never said that". He came over twice and texted me pictures of his work and the process they go through to clean tiles, grout, seal and finish. He seemed like a nice person and made me and my husband feel comfortable in having him and his company come over to do the work at the level we expected. We asked to have all our tiles inside/outside, bathrooms, counter tops cleaned, sealed and repair all of our grout. My house is a custom home that less than 10 years old. Boy were we wrong, this was the worst home improvement vendor we have ever worked with and we were duped in a big way! He asked for 50% payment up front but he said he'd cash the check after the work was done on the first day. He cashed the check that morning before anything was done! Emil estimated work would take 2-3 days to complete, but he was magically done in less than 8 hours. He had one old rotary floor cleaner, and no other equipment, and was in a rush to finish. He claimed to have an industrial vacuum that would suck up all kinds of grimy dirt and water, there was no such device! He came with two other guys in a minivan with small mop bucket, (I use a larger bucket for everyday mopping at home), floor machine and few cheap cleaning supplies all from Home Depot. One person was being trained and other one was supposed to do the pool all day scrubbing, cleaning and sealing the tiles. He was done in less than an hour and the tiles looked the same, all he did was scrape off the calcium. They started working our outside tiles by adding a little sealing solution (less than a cup) to a bucket of water and dumping the water all over. My tiles had a ton of sand, dirt, flowers and leaves all over it. Emil started using the floor machine on it and the trainee used a mop right after on it. It was filthy dirty, but didn't bother changing water even though I told them to do so. Who doesn't clean and mop an area before sealing it? Emil Bortis' from ER Grout and Tile restoration, that's who! This was entirely an amateur job from someone who only wanted to steal our money. He was supposed to fix our grout where there was discoloration from high traffic, cracks and areas with missing grout. He ended up filling just a few areas with a grout that wasn't even a close match, and said that's the best he could do and that it was a color that we picked! I think not, I'm not in the grout color picking business. Notice all of the pictures that show where he skipped fixing the grout, filling gaps/cracks, and the tiles look no better than before he did his work. If anyone wants more proof or pictures, contact me. He used cheap consumer products, did not clean, scrub, buff or seal the tiles to make them look as good as he mentioned to us in person and in his texts. He cut corners in products, labor, service and time. He left my floors dusty and dirty, with all my furniture all over the place, didn't bother putting anything back as he promised he would. I had them clean, color, and seal the floors throughout my entire single story house of about 1850 square feet. It was supposed to take four hours. The work was performed by two workers, in about half the time, apparently as they rush through the work to get done. Pro: They showed up at the exact date and time. Good communication and explanation of the various options and methods. Con: They did not clean, color or seal underneath the stove or refrigerator. The owner stated they couldn't move the appliances due to "insurance" reasons. I would have moved them myself, of course, if that was true. But he did not advise me ahead of time, didn't ask when he showed up at the beginning of the job and didn't care even after I pointed it out at the end of the job. They did not clean in the corners very well. There was a film left on the tile that I was told I need to mop off myself "in a couple of days." There is some missing grout in the hallway on about 3 or so tiles that was left because I didn't pay $400 extra for the "caulking" of all the baseboards. Overall, I would not recommend. read more

I called Emil about 10 days ago to get an estimate on resealing my Travertine Pavers on my front walkway and patio. Gave him the measurements of each. He gave me a quote, that was really $$$$. I told him I had already bought the sealer and basically just needed him to clean the pavers, (nothing I tried worked to get rid of water rings, etc.). He said the Sealer was the most expensive part of the job and if I already had those, he'd do it for a price I could live with. I had bought plenty of Sealer, (more than enough to do 3 coats the Manufacturer recommends). He said it would take about 3 to 4 hours. They DID show up at the scheduled time. Began working and I began doing other chores in the house. After an hour, he informed me they were done. Surprised.... I went to look at the newly sealed Travertine. It looked good, but was still wet. I paid him and he left. Hours later, I went to run errands and noticed that the pavers, (as the sealer began to dry) still had water stains. I decided instead of calling Emil about it, I would just apply another coat of the sealer to see if that would help.... then I realized that if they were done in an hour...... how many coats of sealer could they have put on? I had a "trial size" bottle in my garage and read the instructions: "3 VERY LIGHT COATS. Wait an hour between coats". Ummmm.... Got home from errands and couldn't find the Gallons of Sealer. I called Emil and asked about it. He said, "I have to take any unused product to prove that I used your product". Really?? Prove to who?? The Sealer DID work great, (of course, I purchased that), but the cleaning of the pavers.... not so much. I did as good as he did, trying it myself. Only thing good out of this is that his next victim is going to get some AWESOME Sealer! read more
