Beer and wine bars but didn't get to use them :(

I would give this place a 4 but had a few issues. The hotel feels like 2 different places which we stayed on the outside of the hotel which felt like your at a motel 6 but when your in the courtyard it feels like a different hotel. The place wasn't busy so I wish they would have given us a room in the courtyard because were just looking at a parking lot on the backside. The rooms felt very damp even with the AC on. I didn't find the beds comfortable but that's just my opinion. The breakfast changes daily, not bad but not alot of variety. One thing I wish they would have let us know was you have to request room cleaning and we didn't know until we came back from our outings. The laundry was nice but only one of the washers worked. One more thing if your gonna say they have fresh cookies at 8pm and its store bought cookies that's a bummer. The hotel was clean and overall wasn't a bad stay.

Booking a room is extremely easy, can be done online or over the phone. Receptionist was friendly over the phone. Check in was easy. There is a pool, fire place, and waterfall in the courtyard. Pet friendly, has fridge, microwave, and small coffee maker. Room is upgraded and very clean. Very pleased with our stay.

Great hotel to stay in. When you need to crash in the city. I was upgraded to the new renovated rooms. Bed was firm. I love the new shower head. Rooms seem more spacious. Would stay there again

Yummy breakfast Options!

Stumbled across this place on one of my road trips with the family. After experiencing a few motel nightmares, this was a delight! I will be staying here whenever I'm in the area! Very clean, with comfy beds and pillows! Great pool that has a seating area with a fireplace and water feature. Complimentary hot Breakfast that included some seriously tasty grits and waffles too! Staff is friendly and helpful! Spoke to Jeanette over the phone who convinced us we called the right place, and not to look any further! Glad she did!

Very toxic smelling cleaning product in room. If I wasn't so exhausted from driving 10 hours, I would have left & found another hotel.

I also liked that they give you a little slip of paper at check in with times to remind you of breakfast time, cookie time, quiet time (which I really appreciated).

Hubs is the Hilton expert since he does jobs on many of their properties. We usually look for hotels that are pet friendly, are clean, preferably have breakfast included, reasonably priced, and close to whatever destination we are visiting. Neither of us have been to Ocala so we actually had no inclination about the surrounding area. We checked in late at night, due to working earlier in the day. The check in process took longer than usual but at least it happened. As soon as you walk in, the lobby was very nice looking and clean. Too many hotel lobbies look like garbage so this was nice. The room was nice as well. Like most places we stay at, we are just looking for a place to sleep and shower. I shower at night so I did just that and simply because I hate rushing in the morning. The shower was great. The pressure was good, the water was warm, and I did not recall noticing mold anywhere. The breakfast was kind of sad. We did show up about an hour before it ended but there was not much left and there were not many refills. We had a long day ahead of us and we were able to have enough to get us through. We requested a later check out since our realtor could not meet us until later in the afternoon. We were granted until noon, which was very much appreciated. Another plus is we were not bothered repeatedly by housekeeping. Our dog barks when someone is knocking at the door, naturally, so we prefer when that happens at a minimum or not at all. We packed up and decided to explore. I would stay here again if I had to but now we live in Ocala!

One star because the sheets were clean and the staff were friendly…read more If we weren't so exhausted from the drive, I would have left the moment we saw the (WAY overpriced) room. This should actually be a Motel 6 and not allowed to carry the Hilton name. The carpets were filthy, there were cobwebs and what looked like grass clippings splayed on the curtain valance. No money has been spent on this property - clearly, and they're just milking it for every cent from the horse community. Cold/lukewarm shower with ZERO water pressure. It took me a good 5 minutes to get my shampoo rinsed out. A baby roach crawled out of the sink hole when I turned on water to brush my teeth. No amenities except a well worn packet that said "makeup remover" (LOL I'm not putting that on my face!!!) and the Hilton "Zero" refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that no one uses...unless they're desperate. I'm not expecting L'occitane, but I'm not touching that... The WORST PART that they don't tell you - you're feet from the interstate with a SECOND service road used by 18 wheelers racing through the night, mere steps away from where you're trying to sleep. This place was a nightmare. Breakfast included rotten bananas, and nothing looked clean or fresh. So, I went to Publix to buy breakfast. Filthy, no sleep, and twice the price of a beachfront Hilton...go ANYWHERE else.

1000% YES - this place is awesome! SO much better than every other hotel we've stayed at in…read moreFlorida. This hotel felt like and treated their guests like a true 5 star hotel. First....the grounds are beautiful, well maintained and vast. Upon arrival there's a choice of valet or self-park just out front. Before you can even get to the door someone has rushed to open it and greet you warmly. In fact, 1 guy was there at noon when we arrived and still there at 9pm. Even at 9pm he was still hustling, smiling and putting in just as much effort as he was many hrs earlier. The excellence of staff continued beyond the doormen. Every single staff member we encountered was equally engaged, acknowledged guests, was friendly and was genuinely competent at their job. SO refreshing!! We never saw any of the staff on their phones or busy talking with each other. The work ethic & polish this hotel expects from staff is obvious, appreciated & makes an impact on how we felt as guests. Upon entry, the lobby is gorgeous! Pristine, classy yet inviting. Loved the player piano & large fireplace. There were even some really lovely olive wood crosses available at the front desk, which was an especially nice touch over Easter. Often when a lobby is beautiful, the rooms are a let down. Not here! I didn't see any areas that were in need of attention. Our room felt incredibly clean - no missed corners, grimy spots, etc. It was immaculate and so welcoming...oh, and the room was really really big...and so comfortable. There was a large 2 door closet as well as a smaller closet for our child to use and appreciated having 3 suitcase holders that could fit into the closets so we didn't have to look at them in the room. The chairs in the room were actually comfortable to sit in and made sense with their location. Beds were wonderful and I might have to get 1 of their pillows as it was the first night in awhile that my neck hasn't hurt. Winning! The chocolates by the bedside were a fun treat, particularly the lemon truffle. The next key takeaway from this hotel is how clean it is everywhere. Already mentioned the lobby & rooms, but were out by the arena after the candy shop had closed and the person cleaning had all chairs completely off the floor, rug rolled up and outside and was cleaning like they wanted it to shine. My husband immediately noted that's a sign that someone actually taught the person how they wanted it cleaned rather than just asking them to clean. Big difference. Seriously - I could write a novel about this hotel/property and how great it was. Dog portraits line the walls and halls. There's a small patisserie (large one in the Manor, which you also need to explore), toy shop, bar, restaurant and shops to explore. You MUST stop at the patisserie - fresh, beautiful. We grabbed some items in a lovely box to take home as a gift. We also had breakfast at Stirrups and fully recommend dining here. It was wonderful and blew away all the "best" restaurants in Ocala. Our fruit platter was customizable, came with pink pineapple slices (!) and dragon fruit bits. The 3 egg omelet was the size of a 6 egg omelet and had more beautifully cooked bacon than one could hope. While filling our water glasses the pitcher dripped a couple times. Love that our server was right there with her towel to notice every detail. Beyond the really delicious food and outstanding service, we loved watching the horses warming up in the arena outside, looking around at the many dog portraits in the room and relaxing in the large leather chairs. HUGE shout out to the management staff! It's obvious the leadership here has expectations, does comprehensive training with staff and is actively engaged in ensuring the quality of the hotel. Is The Equestrian Hotel more expensive than the other hotel on site or hotels closer to town - yes, but it's so worth it and we would happily pay a higher price to stay here. Thank you for the wonderful weekend retreat!! We can't wait to return!

I stayed here because I had my two doodles with me and Hilton accepts dogs. The large pasture was perfect for walking dogs versus a tiny strip of grass out back that most hotels have. It was fun watching their reaction when they saw the horses. The two horses belong to the manager that lives on the property. They are in excellent shape and are friendly. The front desk, lobby and restaurant are impeccable and up to date. The service was excellent. I didn't go in the pool or jacuzzi but it sure looked inviting. They were beautiful, clean and well maintained. The room was lack luster. Maybe I got a room that wasn't updated because I had the dogs? The carpet was old and the ac make grinding sounds at different hours of the night. The refrigerator was barely cold. There was no freezer and no microwave. The furniture was worn out but thankfully the mattresses were heavenly! Hope and her husband were kind to give me more information about the hotel restaurant. I met them when their doodle puppy came out to play in the pasture. All in all, it was a good time and I would stay here again. As far as Hilton Garden Inns go, I…read moream super disappointed with this downtown Ocala location and it's probably one of the worst I've stayed at. First off, even finding it is a little odd- the "entrance" is in the back of the building and not at all obvious like most hotel entrances are. There's also hardly any on site parking. It's a small lot that cost like $20 and isn't even guaranteed you get a spot. Otherwise, you have to park in the parking garage that's kiddie-corner to the hotel and walk all the way over. It's inconvenient, for sure. The hotel itself is pretty clean and what you should expect from a Hilton. Except it's super loud since you're downtown and near a lot of bars and other things. I'd recommend trying to get a room on the 4th or 5th floor, as my 5th floor room seemed to be a little more away from all the raucous. It's known to be so loud there that they leave ear plugs in each room instead of trying to actually do something to solve the issue. Yikes. They're also weird about late checkout and other options- you can move checkout like an hour later but anything past that they charge you. And there's no breakfast. I swear they literally try to charge you for anything they can- parking, checkout, breakfast etc. I just really was not impressed with the whole experience here and only stayed because it's the main hotel in downtown Ocala right now. The one upside I could see is that since it is in downtown it's in walking proximity to a lot of restaurants and some shopping, but that's about it.

We were not thrilled with parking across the street in a structure either. It isn't pleasant to drag your luggage back to the hotel after checking in. Especially after paying to park. An added bonus is that we could walk to dinner from the hotel and not move the car. The staff was very friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Would stay here again, but I really do nit like the parking situation.

You're near several malls, shopping centers, restaurants, and local attractions, making it easy to grab groceries, eat out, or run errands. The only minor drawback was traffic on the main road, which can get a bit challenging during rush hours, but that's typical for the area and didn't detract from the overall stay.
