    Broken door lock.
    James G.

I will never stay at one of these again. First room that I was given was locked with a deadbolt from the inside. Replacement room had damage to the door and was difficult to open, see picture. Light in bathroom not working, safe in room is sitting on a waste basket in closet. Front desk staff was very nice, that's the only positive. Food in the morning was pretty disgusting. Hot food was one tray of eggs and sausage that looked like they were there for a while and mass produced. Hotel smells, hot tub looks like it has been "under repair" for years and lobby is sub par.

Large room with two queen beds and a fold our sofa

What a great room!! And such a pleasuredome in comparison to the motels we have been staying in so far during our trip. And Jeremy said it wasn't any more expensive than the motel 6s we've been staying at. We almost stayed at Motel 6 across the street, but they didn't have an accessible room available. The gods were smiling on us with that one. Two queen sized beds and a sleeper sofa! I haven't stayed in a motel with a sofa in it since the before times, when my family used to go on summer vacations together. Back when we could actually stand being around each other for longer than three minutes. Those were the days... My main issue with the room, and it's really the tiniest of complaints, is that the shower chair is a tad too big for the tub. I'm not sure how that is possible. They're both probably standard size, but the chair wobbles even after we tried adjusting the legs. So I ended up sitting lopsided and holding onto the grab bar to feel more secure. I appreciate that the chair is available, though. I'm just leery when it comes to using equipment that moves. The hand-held shower sprayer was wonderful, as I really needed to wash off that layer of sunblock and sweat we accumulated in Saint Augustine. Breakfast was available but it wasn't very good. The south was rolling over in its grave, seeing the offering of LUNCHMEAT ham. There were two waffle makers, which got a lot of use. Pretty decent Belgium style cinnamon waffles. The only thing worth eating amongst the instant oatmeal packs, fruit loops, and really sad looking egg patties. Coffee was okay, but the only cups were laughably small. Jeremy ended up needing four cups to start his day. I would recommend this place to the weary traveler who uses a wheelchair, or to anyone who needs a vacation from the motel scene.

This place is absolutely horrible. This destination is cheap and poor hygiene. My room smells and the bathroom smells like mildew . There are roaches in the room as well . I don't recommend staying here. I also have asthma, luckily I brought my inhaler because if not I don't know how I'd be able to breathe in these conditions.

    Bodily fluids on the bedskirt

One of the most disgusting hotels I have ever stayed at. We were forced to stay here due to a volleyball tournaments "stay to play" rules. If you have the opportunity to stay anywhere else, do so!! When we entered our room the smell of smoke, mold and soiled linens was overwhelming. We were able to pinpoint the main culprit in the bathroom with the shower curtain. It was fabric and smelled of wet towels left in the washer for a month. The bed skirt on one of the beds had bodily fluids on it that would have been IMPOSSIBLE to miss when making the bed by housekeeping. There was garbage on the floor and chewed bubblegum in the corner. When we checked we were informed there was no housekeeping and to call for service. That was 100% fine so imagine our surprise when we returned to our room and there was someone inside. That is NOT OK. There was no "Do Not Disturb" sign in the room to use but since we were told they didn't have staff why would you need one? We returned to the room twice greeted by roaches that we had the pleasure of killing. The breakfast looked like food poisoning waiting to happen so we gladly skipped that. We felt unsafe the entire time. This hotel needs major attention from top to bottom. Unsanitary and unsafe.

Pretty nice hotel to spend a few nights at if visiting relatives in scary land Florida. Decent sized clean room with terrific air conditioning, large comfortable bed, hot shower, fridge, microwave, and flat screen TV. No safe in room though. Small gym with a multi-purpose exercise rack and some cardio equipment. Well maintained pool and hot tub. Free wifi also included. Also a business center to use. Breakfast buffet included with room rate - cereals, waffle maker, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, coffee/tea, muffins, toaster products, bacon, scrambled eggs and more. Very nice but be sure to get up early before 10am to take advantage of it. Supermarket, drug store, some shopping, and places to eat close by. Great location in Ocala. Small convenience store also on premises and everything was cheap if you crave a snack or need something you forgot. Guest laundry room to use too which came in handy. Very accommodating and friendly staff working here. We enjoyed a wonderful stay and will be back..

I loved staying at this hotel in Ocalla for the horse show! The room was super clean, very big, comfortable beds and it had a great pull out sofa! Highly recommended!

This should actually be a Motel 6 and not allowed to carry the Hilton name. The carpets were filthy, there were cobwebs and what looked like grass clippings splayed on the curtain valance. No money has been spent on this property - clearly, and they're just milking it for every cent from the horse community. Cold/lukewarm shower with ZERO water pressure. It took me a good 5 minutes to get my shampoo rinsed out. A baby roach crawled out of the sink hole when I turned on water to brush my teeth. No amenities except a well worn packet that said "makeup remover" (LOL I'm not putting that on my face!!!) and the Hilton "Zero" refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that no one uses...unless they're desperate. I'm not expecting L'occitane, but I'm not touching that... The WORST PART that they don't tell you - you're feet from the interstate with a SECOND service road used by 18 wheelers racing through the night, mere steps away from where you're trying to sleep. This place was a nightmare. Breakfast included rotten bananas, and nothing looked clean or fresh. So, I went to Publix to buy breakfast. Filthy, no sleep, and twice the price of a beachfront Hilton...go ANYWHERE else.

I canceled my room more then 3 days in advance and I was charged for room. As a loyal Hilton customer, I have always appreciated the flexibility and understanding that the brand has shown its members. However, it is disheartening to learn that in this instance, over a charge of $234, there seems to be no room for flexibility. This decision seems to undermine the loyalty that Hilton has built with its customers over the years. Such rigidity can tarnish the Hilton brand and potentially erode customer loyalty, which I believe is far more valuable than the monetary amount in question.

First....the grounds are beautiful, well maintained and vast. Upon arrival there's a choice of valet or self-park just out front. Before you can even get to the door someone has rushed to open it and greet you warmly. In fact, 1 guy was there at noon when we arrived and still there at 9pm. Even at 9pm he was still hustling, smiling and putting in just as much effort as he was many hrs earlier. The excellence of staff continued beyond the doormen. Every single staff member we encountered was equally engaged, acknowledged guests, was friendly and was genuinely competent at their job. SO refreshing!! We never saw any of the staff on their phones or busy talking with each other. The work ethic & polish this hotel expects from staff is obvious, appreciated & makes an impact on how we felt as guests. Upon entry, the lobby is gorgeous! Pristine, classy yet inviting. Loved the player piano & large fireplace. There were even some really lovely olive wood crosses available at the front desk, which was an especially nice touch over Easter. Often when a lobby is beautiful, the rooms are a let down. Not here! I didn't see any areas that were in need of attention. Our room felt incredibly clean - no missed corners, grimy spots, etc. It was immaculate and so welcoming...oh, and the room was really really big...and so comfortable. There was a large 2 door closet as well as a smaller closet for our child to use and appreciated having 3 suitcase holders that could fit into the closets so we didn't have to look at them in the room. The chairs in the room were actually comfortable to sit in and made sense with their location. Beds were wonderful and I might have to get 1 of their pillows as it was the first night in awhile that my neck hasn't hurt. Winning! The chocolates by the bedside were a fun treat, particularly the lemon truffle. The next key takeaway from this hotel is how clean it is everywhere. Already mentioned the lobby & rooms, but were out by the arena after the candy shop had closed and the person cleaning had all chairs completely off the floor, rug rolled up and outside and was cleaning like they wanted it to shine. My husband immediately noted that's a sign that someone actually taught the person how they wanted it cleaned rather than just asking them to clean. Big difference. Seriously - I could write a novel about this hotel/property and how great it was. Dog portraits line the walls and halls. There's a small patisserie (large one in the Manor, which you also need to explore), toy shop, bar, restaurant and shops to explore. You MUST stop at the patisserie - fresh, beautiful. We grabbed some items in a lovely box to take home as a gift. We also had breakfast at Stirrups and fully recommend dining here. It was wonderful and blew away all the "best" restaurants in Ocala. Our fruit platter was customizable, came with pink pineapple slices (!) and dragon fruit bits. The 3 egg omelet was the size of a 6 egg omelet and had more beautifully cooked bacon than one could hope. While filling our water glasses the pitcher dripped a couple times. Love that our server was right there with her towel to notice every detail. Beyond the really delicious food and outstanding service, we loved watching the horses warming up in the arena outside, looking around at the many dog portraits in the room and relaxing in the large leather chairs. HUGE shout out to the management staff! It's obvious the leadership here has expectations, does comprehensive training with staff and is actively engaged in ensuring the quality of the hotel. Is The Equestrian Hotel more expensive than the other hotel on site or hotels closer to town - yes, but it's so worth it and we would happily pay a higher price to stay here. Thank you for the wonderful weekend retreat!! We can't wait to return!

I stayed here because I had my two doodles with me and Hilton accepts dogs. The large pasture was perfect for walking dogs versus a tiny strip of grass out back that most hotels have. The front desk, lobby and restaurant are impeccable and up to date. The service was excellent. I didn't go in the pool or jacuzzi but it sure looked inviting. They were beautiful, clean and well maintained. The room was lack luster. Maybe I got a room that wasn't updated because I had the dogs? The carpet was old and the ac make grinding sounds at different hours of the night. The refrigerator was barely cold. There was no freezer and no microwave. The furniture was worn out but thankfully the mattresses were heavenly! Hope and her husband were kind to give me more information about the hotel restaurant.
