We drove for hours and finally found a group of hotels. I thought this comfort Inn might be nicer. I was right. I was so very tired and from the mi Ute I asked for room availability PJ took care of us. There was a fairly large group of young men and ladies. I said To PJ, "oh, you will. I already thought of that." We heard none of the noise. The room is all we need with some extra touches. The shower could have been more forceful - or fuller. The black out curtains didn't close all the was so we got up with the sun. All in all, the hotel and bed was comfortable. The breakfast was better than most. I stay in this hotel every time I visit my parents in Ocala. I've been staying here since they opened. The breakfast is actually a step above most hotel 'hot' breakfasts. The room I was in during my last stay shows the place is beginning to show its popularity. The rooms had broken/missing USB connectors that are built into the end tables. The carpet and couch had old stains visible. I hope the managers see this and do something before this place goes down hill. read more

Light in bathroom not working, safe in room is sitting on a waste basket in closet. Front desk staff was very nice, that's the only positive. Food in the morning was pretty disgusting. Hot food was one tray of eggs and sausage that looked like they were there for a while and mass produced. What a great room!! And such a pleasuredome in comparison to the motels we have been staying in so far during our trip. And Jeremy said it wasn't any more expensive than the motel 6s we've been staying at. We almost stayed at Motel 6 across the street, but they didn't have an accessible room available. The gods were smiling on us with that one. Two queen sized beds and a sleeper sofa! I haven't stayed in a motel with a sofa in it since the before times, when my family used to go on summer vacations together. Back when we could actually stand being around each other for longer than three minutes. Those were the days... My main issue with the room, and it's really the tiniest of complaints, is that the shower chair is a tad too big for the tub. I'm not sure how that is possible. They're both probably standard size, but the chair wobbles even after we tried adjusting the legs. So I ended up sitting lopsided and holding onto the grab bar to feel more secure. I appreciate that the chair is available, though. I'm just leery when it comes to using equipment that moves. The hand-held shower sprayer was wonderful, as I really needed to wash off that layer of sunblock and sweat we accumulated in Saint Augustine. Breakfast was available but it wasn't very good. The south was rolling over in its grave, seeing the offering of LUNCHMEAT ham. There were two waffle makers, which got a lot of use. Pretty decent Belgium style cinnamon waffles. The only thing worth eating amongst the instant oatmeal packs, fruit loops, and really sad looking egg patties. Coffee was okay, but the only cups were laughably small. Jeremy ended up needing four cups to start his day. I would recommend this place to the weary traveler who uses a wheelchair, or to anyone who needs a vacation from the motel scene. read more

This stay was by far the worst I've ever had. 1st thing the rooms were dirty stains all over the sleep sofa was disgusting. Then we went to the hot tub which is why we booked here over 30mins away from our event and more money and the hot tub was roped off and empty. Then we turn on the tv NO tv no way to watch Netflix nothing. Then the AC didn't work and also the ice machine on our floor didn't work either. Management was only available after 11pm till 2am very inconvenient. I wait up till after 11:30 to speak to the manager an all she offers is 500 points which is worthless to me. My brother and I plan on zip lining early in the morning so we split the cost of a stay. He live in Deland & I in Bartow and our zip lining was at 9:00 am. This hotel was affordable it's came with a nice size fridge, microwave, & free breakfast in the morning. I missed that. The last time I was at a hotel that served breakfast in a bag. My husband, our family, and I stayed in one of the suites, which was perfect. We had two couples and one single person. We all had a comfortable bed to sleep in. The hotel was safe for families and very quiet. The room and bathroom were very clean when we entered. We were on the 3rd floor, and even the hallway was clean and up-to-date. However, they mentioned there was a vending machine, but there wasn't one. Breakfast was very tasty! The only complaint would be that they had Canadian Bacon instead of American Bacon or sausage. The tables were clean, and the hotel employees ensured everything was fully stocked. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. Definitely consider becoming a Choice Rewards member. read more

This is a really dirty hotel and the customer service is well below mediocre. We traveled with our small dog and agreed to the $50 fee. Nothing was said about where dogs could walk and I did not see any place that was marked. We walked in the back of the hotel and my dog was bitten by fire ants. She had big red and itchy bites on her legs. I called the hotel and asked to speak with the manager. Had to leave a message and no one called me back. Finally, called corporate customer service. They said it had to be handled through the hotel and they would reach out to the manager there. Still no return call. So I called corporate again and gave them the report number. This place was absolutely disgusting, for th price, you got the service of a drug hotel. The rooms were filthy, the rooms had roaches, the doors didn't close, poop and urine all over the toilets, cigarettes burns in the toilet seats. Ashes all over a no smoking hotel. They moved my room several times and it got worse and worse. I had 3 kids with water that barely got warm, so we could not get showers. One of the most disgusting hotels I have ever stayed at. We were forced to stay here due to a volleyball tournaments "stay to play" rules. If you have the opportunity to stay anywhere else, do so!! When we entered our room the smell of smoke, mold and soiled linens was overwhelming. We were able to pinpoint the main culprit in the bathroom with the shower curtain. It was fabric and smelled of wet towels left in the washer for a month. The bed skirt on one of the beds had bodily fluids on it that would have been IMPOSSIBLE to miss when making the bed by housekeeping. There was garbage on the floor and chewed bubblegum in the corner. When we checked we were informed there was no housekeeping and to call for service. That was 100% fine so imagine our surprise when we returned to our room and there was someone inside. That is NOT OK. There was no "Do Not Disturb" sign in the room to use but since we were told they didn't have staff why would you need one? We returned to the room twice greeted by roaches that we had the pleasure of killing. The breakfast looked like food poisoning waiting to happen so we gladly skipped that. Decent sized clean room with terrific air conditioning, large comfortable bed, hot shower, fridge, microwave, and flat screen TV. No safe in room though. Small gym with a multi-purpose exercise rack and some cardio equipment. Well maintained pool and hot tub. Free wifi also included. Also a business center to use. Breakfast buffet included with room rate - cereals, waffle maker, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, coffee/tea, muffins, toaster products, bacon, scrambled eggs and more. Very nice but be sure to get up early before 10am to take advantage of it. Supermarket, drug store, some shopping, and places to eat close by. Great location in Ocala. Small convenience store also on premises and everything was cheap if you crave a snack or need something you forgot. Guest laundry room to use too which came in handy. Pros: * Cost... $79 inc tax. * Room... * Super comfortable, pillow-top bed * 6 cushy pillows on my king * Efficient a/c-heater... a bit loud, but at least it's continuous & doesn't continually shut off with a thump, like cheaper hotels * Rooms are a suite... fridge, m/w, coffee pot, sofa, 2 ottmans, desk w/chair & 2 protected outlets with 2 USB ports. * Solidly built... I didn't hear anything from adjoining rooms. Cons: * 1st floor renovations are going on & look like they might continue for awhile. When I checked in & inquired, the nice male, front desk agent (wish I knew his name... an older gent, very professional) said he'd put me on the 4th floor, so I wouldn't be bothered by the noise. * The rest of the front desk staff of surly babes are angry... when I stayed over an extra night, one wasted 5-min complaining non-stop & at breakneck speed about all her paperwork & having to also staff the front desk... all I said was 'hi'. So, you want me to feel badly for giving your hotel another $80?! * Sadly, the construction workers tripped the whooping fire alarm throughout the entire bldg early morning, so instead of getting sleep, I was scared out of bed like I was on fire. They did the same later in the day at one of the fire exits, as well & that alarm went off for a long time. When the mngr asked how my stay was as I was checking out, I said, "Odd, with all the construction..." & didn't even get out the alarm glitches. She angrily cut me off, then said, "Well, if we don't do it now, it crumbles to the ground", then took my receipt & plopped it onto the counter. It seems the poor customer service attitudes filter down from her. Good to know: * There are a few markets & a Starbucks around, but geez, they hide them well. My GPS gave me wrong directions to most things in the area. A couple of the markets don't exist any longer, if they ever did, as the GPS brought me to an empty field. Also, you have to watch carefully, as some directions told me to take a left when the market was on the right & I had to go through a maze of odd twists & turns to finally reach it. SBucks... good luck, I found it by accident. Note: I have a Garmin with lifetime maps that's always updated, so that's not the issue. Also, Google Maps on my phone rendered the same results. Good hotel, comfy, good price. If construction is still going on, I suggest you stay on a higher floor... ask if making over the phone plans. 3.75*. -.25* for being rattled out of bed. -1* for the poor attitudes of the employees. This is our place to stay for our southern trips. The employees are friendly the hotel is clean and it's very quiet and comfy. We've stayed here probably 6 times in the past 2 years. Great place for our dog to run and play after being in a car, safe places to park and walk to stretch your legs. Breakfast was good and the place was clean. Yes there is an occasional mold or aging of things. After covid disinfectants were used it aged everything everywhere. This hotel is a great place to stay! read more

Checked in for a quick one night stay, my fiancé is a truck driver & I needed a nice place for us to spend the night near the petro truck stop that wasn't old & gross!! I wanted a hotel that was with in 15 miles from the truck stop but built or renovated fairly recently. Well the renovations on this place are great!! The room was clean and very well appointed. The front desk staff was dry not rude but just not very friendly or welcoming didn't even crack a smile lol.... She kinda just asked for my drivers license, credit card, vehicle make & model.... and voila she handed me my keys... Not much at all. The person that checked us in was friendly and greeted us well. But when I got home and saw what was charged to me was full of errors. I was charged for another person's two rooms, my husband and me only had one room. Now I have to wait for the hotel to make the correction. I know the other person and called her, she had receive her bill for two rooms and I was charged for her two rooms also. That is a mistake that should have never taken place. As for the room it was not clean and we had to move to another room, that room was fair and I clean the room, yes, I clean the room. We ran out of towels and was told they would bring them up. Well we were gone all day and came back and there were no towels. We went to the front desk to get them. Housekeeping was friendly but slow at cleaning. Our family was there for a funeral and out of 9 families at the same hotel, one family had to leave and go to another because there was a huge problem with the room. We all made our own reservations, no one used anyone's card. Cleanliness was lacking at this location. I recommended that we all stay there but now I regret it. Amenities were lacking, small sizes of shampoos and conditioners. What happen to this place. At the front desk the person stated he was the only one there on the weekends. It was a lot for him to handle because we saw how guest were coming in. I feel I should be compensated for what I am going through now and it has not cleared up yet. I was told to call back today. Really. We talking about close to $1000 in extra charges to my card. Never again. I just called and spoke with someone name Ashley, a manager and all she had to say was I don't know anything about it, it takes ten days to make a correction, meanwhile its another pending charge on the card. I stayed here for a short weekend as I was headed to Gainesville for my cousins graduation and this was the closest hotel to University of Florida that I can find. Surprisingly it was very clean and quiet And the staff was super friendly. This particular area didn't seem to be very nice so I didn't explore this area at all. Where do I start? First of all if I could give it a 0 star I would. Looking at the pictures and the lobby you would think this was a clean and respectable place to stay but that was far from the truth. The cleaning staff obviously spends their time playing FarmVille and cleaning the same room over and over again. The room that we were in was a 2 queens and a pullout couch. The queen beds were typical hotel trash beds. The pullout couch however was a totally different story. This is where the cleaning crew comes in. The couch reeked of cat urine. The smell was so unbearable that we had to change rooms. They didn't have any other rooms available so we had to consolidate with the rest of our family rooms in order to get away from the stench. Then in the other room we noticed there was mold in the shower. Clearly the cleaning staff is just collecting a paycheck and not doing a damn thing. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. This place should be inspected by the health department for sure. I hate to write a bad review but I couldn't let this go for sure. I was tired and hungry, when am I not hungry that's another issue. I was in Florida and it was dark and I hit the ramp and could see this wonderful new remodeled hotel. Parked in front walked in the desk clerk was so friendly and with in 5 min I had a room and a meal recommendation and safe place to park my car. I was thinking 110 - 130$ too my surprise 69.00 a night. WOW The room had a beautiful TV and even better accommodations like this huge bed and a wonderful working desk with the best Hi - speed internet i had my whole trip. I was up at 6 and out the door so I did not try their Breakfast but I know they did offer one. All I can say is clean , safe and friendly I was so lucky. read more

The process was very quick and easy and the lady helping was so very pleasant and knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions! They have been exceptional at working with us to get all the wedding attandents to stay together and making this experience as easy as possible!! Executive Summary: Comfort Suites tries to sneak in charges not disclosed at the time of booking. Details below. I booked the Comfort Suites Ocala North hotel the afternoon of my stay. The price I was quoted was $88.91 ($80.81 plus tax). When I arrived, the receptionist asked me to sign a credit card approval for $90.78. Most people who book weeks ahead wouldn't notice this was a higher price than what was agreed to. But since I booked that day, I noticed. I asked why I was being charged more than what was agreed. At first, the Receptionist tried to focus on the fact that the daily rate ($80.81) did match what I was quoted. When I persisted in asking why the TOTAL was different, he finally acknowledged that they added in a $1.75 fee for renting a safe. The paperwork I had just signed did say something about an optional safe (but said NOTHING about the price). Besides, I had crossed off the optional safe anyway. He said just write the word "Declined" next to the safe, which I did. He ran the card again and it STILL came out $90.78, which I refused to sign. Then the Receptionist said that the computer is not able to remove the safe charge -- that it would be removed in the morning. HE REFUSED TO CHECK ME IN UNLESS I SIGNED A CREDIT CARD RECEIPT FOR AN AMOUNT HIGHER THAN WAS AGREED AT THE TIME I MADE A NON-REFUNDABLE PAYMENT TO THE HOTEL. I signed because I didn't want to run around looking for another hotel or risk losing my non-refundable payment. He handed me a credit card receipt stating $90.78 (still not mentioning the "safe fee"). VERY few people would ever notice that Comfort Suites had slipped in a "safe fee". When the bill was slid under my door the next morning, it STILL said $90.78. I had to take my (valuable) time and go to the front desk and get them to issue a credit for the safe charge. I don't know what percentage of Comfort Suites guests actually use their safe -- probably just a very small fraction. I don't know what percentage of Comfort Suite guest notice that a "safe fee" has slipped into their bill, but I doubt it's very many. This fee is not disclosed at the time of booking or even at the time of check-in. I am not an attorney, but I strongly suspect that forcing someone to sign a credit for an amount greater than the contractually agreed price is probably AGAINST THE LAW. It is certainly a violation of their credit card merchant agreements. Hopefully some smart attorney will file a class action lawsuit against Choice Hotels (which owns Clarion, Sleep Inn, Quality Inn, Rodeway Inn, EconoLodge and other hotel brands). If you don't mind being tricked out of your money, by all means, book a hotel at one of these brands. read more

Great value. They have free parking, free breakfast, free wifi, and nice accommodations. I particularly liked that they had both soft and firm pillows, because I usually find pillows at hotels to be too soft. They also had more cable channels than even the typical pricier hotel.
