I have stayed here over a couple of years. The hot tub has never been functioning. This is clearly an upper management issue. There is no reason a business that advertises a working hot tub continuously cannot offer its usage. You have people like Barb, Lisa and Chandace who are top notch at their jobs, it is not matched by management. If it's broken, fix it. If it can't be fixed replace it, or get rid of it and remove it from your amenities. read more

Desk agent was rude and condescending. I was not welcomed as an elite member. The hotel is old and tired. No USB outlets in the 2 bedroom suite. Televisions were very old and tiny. Desk is in the smallest bedroom, which was kids bedroom and useless for work, exhaust fan was so loud it awakened anyone sleeping in the room. The room smelled like onions and some other food. Overpriced rates, so so Customer Service. They don't even offer complimentary coffee in the morning. We booked a room weeks in advance for a great rate. The veteran discount we received at the time of booking and confirmed in the reservation was not honored and the room ended costing us twice the rate. This was because they were booked due to graduation event at the University of Florida campus that was 35 minutes away. Beware when booking for a major event at the University these people are ruthless with rates. read more

Located right off of I-75 (exit 350), the property location is in a great area where there are plenty of restaurants, gas stations and stores nearby. If you feel like shopping there is a Kohl's down the road too. My suite was tastefully decorated and had an open floor plan. From the L shaped couch to the stainless steel appliances to the modern textured wallpaper; my suite was fresh and stylish. The only thing I didn't care for was the view of the parking lot, however it's not a deal breaker for me. My bed was comfortable and I slept well. Although the bathroom was small, the shower had great water pressure & I had a nice sized vanity area to get ready. I felt like I was in a cute studio apartment and not a hotel. I didn't take advantage of the complimentary breakfast because I picked up something at Dunkin Donuts (super close). The hotel does not have a restaurant or bar on the property, however they do have a small area where you can purchase snacks. Was everything perfect? The answer is no. Did I find one particular front desk clerk to be rude and obnoxious? The answer is yes and I do hope this employee gets more training. In this case one bad apple did not spoil the whole bunch. The customer service from Melisa was extraordinary. From the time I made my reservation four months ago to the week prior to my arrival, Melisa was helpful, professional and just a lovely person. I am sorry I didn't get to meet her in person, but she had the weekend off when I was a guest at this property. I do hope I get to meet her next time. She is an amazing lady. Whatever issue I had was quickly addressed by Carol Griffin, the manager who made everything right. She was compassionate, logical and just a very nice lady in general. I really liked her and Melisa a lot. If you are looking for a hotel that is conveniently located off I-75 in Ocala, I am comfortable recommending this Residence Inn. read more

My company booked a room here and I was really hoping that it would be better than many of the recent reviews for this hotel. Sadly, the room cleanliness was on-par with many of the other reviews. First, I'll say that I thought the rooms themselves were pretty nice. I stayed in one of the suites, which came with a frig, small glasstop stove, dishwasher, and all the eating and cooking utensils you need, in addition to the usual hotel furniture. The bed comfort wasn't anything to write home about but it also wasn't the worst either. Now, getting onto the more disappointing details...when I arrived, I noticed that the trash from the previous occupants wasn't removed from either the kitchen or the bathroom. There was something sticky on the refrigerator handle that had run down and dried there. The same sticky smudges were also on one of the cabinet doors. The kitchen table was wiped off quickly but you could see that it wasn't cleaned very well. Mold looked like it was around the A/C vent on the wall. Crumbs were on the desk chair; drink rings were on the nightstand; there was dust on the furniture edges; the edge of the closet track and the bathroom baseboard had dirt around it like it was never mopped or cleaned properly. The bed skirt also had noticeable stains on it and I shudder to think what they could be. At that point, I was wondering if the towels or sheets were clean. It's pretty sad...and unacceptable when you feel that it would be more sanitary and clean if you pitched a tent out in the parking lot. On a better note, the staff that I spoke with were very nice and accommodating and when I brought the trash out from the previous occupants, they were very apologetic about it. Also, the continental breakfast wasn't bad...not great, but not bad, either. I would love to rate this hotel with at least 4 or 5 stars but I just can't because of the below average cleanliness of the place. Either the cleaning staff (if they even have one) doesn't know how to clean or they just don't care. If cleanliness is important for your comfort and relaxation, then look elsewhere because this isn't it. read more

This Marriott property is one of our favorites. The staff Jennifer, Kevin and Patty are the most professional people I have experienced in a hotel. They are always there to help you out and take care of you. This Hotel is by far, the BEST hotel I have stayed at, and trust me, I have stayed at quit a few hotels around the world and the staff goes above and beyond any other hotel staff. They just renovated the rooms!!! I love the color scheme and the wall paintings. Rooms are ALWAYS clean and spacious. The Breakfast is always top notch, not to mention the managers specials (The Residence Inn MIS) Mon-Wed with free wine/beer and snacks. I can't thank the Managers and Staff enough for taking care of us while we are here... it is ALWAYS a pleasure to come stay at this hotel when we are in the area. read more

Wife and I arrived at this Residence Inn close to midnight. Funny thing to note, within the Marriott app the navigation takes you to the Hampton Inn across the street. Not fault of the hotel, but just an interesting comment. Upon walking up the night clerk let us in and welcomed us by name. While we were checking in status was acknowledged and we were welcomed with 2 bottles of water and bedtime chocolates. Great touch! The rooms are nothing speculator but definitely comfortable. 3.8 star hotel but what makes it a 4.5 is the guest interaction. Everyone we talked to was warm and welcome! Breakfast was hearty. Anywhere that serves bacon is a good breakfast for me! There was scrambled eggs and just egg whites, bagels, breads, fruits, cheeses and yogurt. First and foremost, i get no pleasure out of writing bad reviews. We decided to stop here on our way to Disney, just to break up the trip.. The reviews for this place were so great and better than any of the neighboring hotels, but our room straight up smelled like urine. We would've left except it was after 1am and my kids passed out as soon as we laid them down (the bed was actually quite comfortable). Also, on our way out, the following morning, we noticed the ceiling of the first floor hallway was crawling with tens (if not hundreds) of tiny black ants. For $150, you get a decent breakfast and the place itself is actually nice and roomy, but I will not be staying here again. read more

Two stars for the sweet lady who works at the front desk. She was so helpful and nice. Unfortunately, the room itself was a total letdown. For over $100 I expect a room to be in better condition than a budget motel, and this was not. The first room smelled so bad like smoke that I had to switch rooms. The second room also smelled faintly like smoke, and like a very strong air freshener. Gross, but I didn't want to move again. The room was so dirty I was disgusted. Filthy floors with so many p hairs in the bathroom that I stopped counting after 8. Dust everywhere, dirty dishes in the kitchen cabinets, peeling wallpaper, stained sofa, carpet coming up, etc etc etc. I would never stay here again and would never recommend this place. read more

It's 3 days before Christmas ... the elevator does not work, gruff guest service, our keys did not work right after we checked in, the breakfast bar was rather poorly stocked, the guest laundry is disgustingly dirty, I did not have my wallet with me and was running short by a quarter for a laundry run, the front desk refused to give me quarter (I asked if they could add it to our bill and the answer was a terse no apology NO)... frankly a very poorly managed and maintained Residence Inn. We are lifetime platinum members of Marriott and have been staying in mostly Marriott properties during vacations for the past 8 years, seldom have I come across anything like THIS! read more

The hotel manager is absolutely wonderful. She checked us in and signed us up for the Marriott rewards program. They have a little store where you can buy drinks, snacks and a few toiletries. The hotel is also pet friendly! The one bedroom suite is awesome. The couch pulls out into a bed that is perfect for kids. There is a full size refrigerator, microwave,and dishwasher. Plates, silverware and cookware are in the cabinets. The bathroom is awesome. Very clean. The water pressure is great. The hotel provides Paul Mitchell shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bar soaps. The bed is incredibly comfortable with soft sheets. I am very very happy we decided to stay here on the way to Port Charlotte. read more

We were disappointed with how our room looked at this facility. It's very run down and was not cleaned well. Carpet torn on the floor and the pull out couch had stains all over it and was falling apart. No extra toilet paper and one towel each. If you walk around the place you can see they are struggling to keep things maintained. I'm sure COVID has hurt them and also the fact that there are a million other hotels right around them. I would've given two stars for all of the reasons I just stated, but I'm adding a star because the staff was very nice and I believe customer service goes a long way. This place needs an update badly though. It doesn't look anything like the pictures. read more

This is by far one of the finest hotels for its size and for its expressed function of serving the needs of individuals and families in a very warm environment. From check in to our room, From the morning breakfast to the evening Mix reception , There is nothing that we did not feel exceeded our expectations. Friendly front desk staff were friendly and the rooms were small but clean. The free breakfast was disappointing unless you like waffles, cereal and poorly prepared egg mcmuffins. I ended up going to the Cracker Barrel close by. The TV's in the room are older LG, not flat screens. Overall, this is an excellent Marriott property. read more

Having to stay here due to a flood at our home we had a great stay. The only complaint I have is the smoking outside the entrance way to the rooms. I'm allergic extremely allergic to cigarette smoke. They should have a smoking area away from the public entrances for smokers to go to. And the parking was horrible and had to walk a long way to get to the room. read more

We stayed here for 3 months. The entire place was well maintained. The staff was delightful. Any problems, which were minimal, were handled promptly. I highly recommend this hotel. We will not hesitate to stay here, or for that matter, any Residence Inn again. read more

As far as standard hotel fare, this place is right up there. I would compare it to a nice Hampton Inn & Suites. I do have a major issue with their complementary breakfast. I drives me nuts (my husband would call that an understatement) when there is no half & half or whole milk for my coffee. All they have is non-dairy "creamer," which is completely unacceptable! Yuck! I did find some whip cream at the waffle station and used that. Also...we are in Florida!! Do not serve phoney orange juice! It tastes like Tang! I want to say they do have real utensils to use on the styrofoam plates (that melt a little when you put something hot on it!) I will be stopping by Publix and get some half & half for tomorrow. I can be a bit of a hotel snob and I have to say the Residence Inn exceeded my expectations. My two small children, husband, dog, and I booked a studio suite to leave our hometown where Hurricane Matthew was due to hit. The staff was very friendly and without any prompting lowered the dog fee from $75 to $45, a nice surprise. The room was large and very clean. The tub/ toilet area could use updating but that was due to age, not lack of cleanliness. The free hot breakfast was delicious and a pretty incredible value. There were a ton of choices and everything was good. At the last minute we had to extend our stay due to the hurricane interfering with our ride home, but the weather cleared sooner than expected. We ended up leaving a night early. At the time I was told because it was 2:30 pm we could not receive a refund. When I got home I started hearing a few friends in the same situation received a refund from various hotels And I called the manager asking for a refund and explaining our situation. Within an hr she returned my call and said my card was refunded. I really appreciate that! Overall great stay. read more

Well considering that I got the room for $88.00 with military discount I'd have to give this hotel 5 stars for sure. Excellent looking rooms, nice establishment, friendly staff, nice outside pool & hot tub, basketball court, fitness center, breakfast buffet.
