I was informed that this hotel was recently renovated. I'm glad I got to experience the renovated hotel and not the old version. I do like how this hotel is right off the highway and is further back off the busy road. You hear nothing it's so quiet. Inside is beautifully decorated with plenty of seating, a bar area and even the main dining area. I have spoken to a couple of the front desk girls and they're so sweet and helpful. When you do walk in to the front desk on your left, they do have a freezer for ice cream and also a little room full of beverages and snacks. My room was on the fifth floor overlooking the pool area. It's so crazy because behind the pool area is just fields and it feels like I'm in the middle of nowhere. My room was clean and very roomy. The only issue I have was the bathroom. That door is way too big for that small bathroom. I kept hitting my arm my head that door was just in the way. I don't understand why hotels can't do pocket doors?! For how large the room is you honestly could've made the bathroom bigger to accommodate this massive door. Besides that issue, I have nothing else negative to say. They do have a breakfast buffet downstairs for $22. But there is free coffee. Parking is free and you don't even need a parking pass. It's amazing how every Hilton Hotel is different when it becomes to the parking matter. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

I couldn't get a hotel in Gainesville and this was the closest alternative. 30 minutes out of Gainesville, the hotel is nice and clean. Rooms are comfortable but they could use an update. I don't expect much when I come up here, so when i get clean and comfortable it's a plus. I wish hotels would give more than 2 bath towels per room. I know I can call downstairs and request more but at $250 a night, I shouldn't have to. The hotel does use the Hilton mobile key feature which is a nice perk and you can check in and pick your room on the app. Although my request for extra towels went unnoticed. No Honors executive lounge here, but we got in late and left early the next morning so it was ok.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful and I can't understand all the negative reviews. The hotel is crisp and clean, calm yet fun, and boasts plenty of amenities to make anyone happy! Service: The hotel staff was kind and informative - going as far as to provide us with good restaurants or sites to check out during our stay. Amenities: The pool was absolutely perfect and had a very calm ambiance. The hot tub was very nice and is located close to the pool. Clean towels were provided at the pool itself. Plenty of seating areas outside that had shade and direct access to a bathroom right nearby. The bar was sophisticated and made me want to sit down and read a nice book there. The breakfast was amazing and full of flavor - with very attentive staff to help out. Room: Our room was clean, quiet, and nice. The bathroom was clean and had great water pressure - it was hot and perfect for a shower or bath. The TV was very very nice, it was quick and responsive - had smart tv features also! The tv also was very very high quality with its picture. The beds were nice and the pillows were perfect. There was even a mini fridge in our room. I highly recommend this hotel, as this was our second time staying here and have had a very pleasant and relaxing experience each time!

Notice information about both the pool and hot tub closed for the three days that I was there

The conditions of my room were terrible. Large stain on bed, peeling paint and wallpaper, broken shower head. Strong paint fumes. Large, loud carpet cleaning machines in hallway outside of room working at night. Leaking ice machine. Food was terrible, ate while staff vacuumed the same area. Both the pool and hot tub were closed for the three days that I was there.

We had a very nice stay. It was for one night. This is our first stop stopping through Ocala. The parking was very easy and free. The lobby was very nice. From the lobby to elevator to rooms, everything was very clean. It is not the most updated or modern hotel but you can definitely see the upgrades they made throughout the years. We had a two queen bed and the room actually looks/feels like it was cleaned thoroughly. The hotel room comes with a disposable shower car, soap bar, and lotion. They do have lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner in large containers hanging off the walls in the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the room was nice and cool. The staff were very friendly and nice. We did not need to interact with them very much because we checked in after 9pm and checked out before 7am. They did greet us when we walked through the lobby and as we were checking out. I would stop here again.

Front desk. As we stood completely soaked....

It's crazy.. we stayed here last year and had a great experience! However... this stay has been nothing but complete bullshit. Not only did we let them know we were driving from PA, straight to Florida. They KNEW OVER 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE, that we would be arriving at between 7am-9am. When we arrived, not only did they NOT have the room we requested, we had to wait hours to get a room. So after a 14 hour drive... we then spent over $70 for 2 adults and 2 children for their "buffet", that was missing most of it food. But also was absolutely foul... like unedible... We went to the pool. Before getting in, I asked the front desk for towels (the closet for them was completely bare, with and overflowing amount of towels in the hamper.... we waited not 1, but 2 HOURS for towels. And yet? No towels still. But they sure had time to clean up the water i brought in with my soaking wet hair and suit... we have since left the pool, and STILL NO FUCKING TOWELS....We will never be staying with another hilton, that's a promise. And I'll make sure everyone I know, is aware of the "care" they give.. unacceptable. UPDATE!! WE HAVE ANTA IN THE ROOM NOW...

SCW and I stayed here for a brief trip to Ocala. We came over to see the new World Equestrian Center and stayed here for one night. The hotel itself looked like it was remodeled fairly recently. The entrance was nice and bright with the lobby, breakfast area, a seating area and the bar off to the right. The whole area looked pretty well laid out with lots of different options for seating. Check in was pretty quick and friendly. We were off to our room in no time. We stayed on the "executive floor" in the high odd 20's in terms of room numbers. This turned out to be closer to the highway (I-75) then the lower numbered rooms so if you are noise sensitive you might request a lower number. I didn't think the highway noise was too bad with the ac fan running constantly to drown it out. The room itself was pretty nice. The room had desk with a chair, a more comfy relaxing chair with a poof to put your feet up on. There was a fridge as well which is nice if you bring things along for your trip like we did. The kind bed was comfy, the pillows a little too soft for my liking but not terrible. The bathroom was clean and had good lighting. The room itself had some nuts on the floor from the previous occupant that was missed during cleaning apparently. Not too big of a deal but minus a star for that. I got a decent nights sleep and the experience was overall pleasant. SCW was however dismayed at the lack of complementary coffee downstairs in the morning. The room comes with a coffee maker but certainly not up to her standards. So we ended up getting coffee elsewhere.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Hubby and I LOVED this Hilton Hotel! The room was very spacious & the bed was very very comfortable. in fact, it was so comfortable that hubby looked up what kind of mattress they use & has proclaimed that we will be purchasing this kind next for our king bed at home. yay!!! LOL The lobby was very beautiful, spacious & cozy with a nice bar that is open to midnight. The pool was gorgeous & the service was very pleasant. The in room coffee was even fabulous. Loved the fresh fruit water on arrival. Very refreshing. Hubby always likes to stay at Marriott's but after this stay he now says we are Hilton People. Haha. Can't wait to return! Highly recommend :))

Cops are here. Welcome to the Hilton!

Hubs is the Hilton expert since he does jobs on many of their properties. We usually look for hotels that are pet friendly, are clean, preferably have breakfast included, reasonably priced, and close to whatever destination we are visiting. Neither of us have been to Ocala so we actually had no inclination about the surrounding area. We checked in late at night, due to working earlier in the day. The check in process took longer than usual but at least it happened. As soon as you walk in, the lobby was very nice looking and clean. Too many hotel lobbies look like garbage so this was nice. The room was nice as well. Like most places we stay at, we are just looking for a place to sleep and shower. I shower at night so I did just that and simply because I hate rushing in the morning. The shower was great. The pressure was good, the water was warm, and I did not recall noticing mold anywhere. The breakfast was kind of sad. We did show up about an hour before it ended but there was not much left and there were not many refills. We had a long day ahead of us and we were able to have enough to get us through. We requested a later check out since our realtor could not meet us until later in the afternoon. We were granted until noon, which was very much appreciated. Another plus is we were not bothered repeatedly by housekeeping. Our dog barks when someone is knocking at the door, naturally, so we prefer when that happens at a minimum or not at all. We packed up and decided to explore. I would stay here again if I had to but now we live in Ocala!

This should actually be a Motel 6 and not allowed to carry the Hilton name. The carpets were filthy, there were cobwebs and what looked like grass clippings splayed on the curtain valance. No money has been spent on this property - clearly, and they're just milking it for every cent from the horse community. Cold/lukewarm shower with ZERO water pressure. It took me a good 5 minutes to get my shampoo rinsed out. A baby roach crawled out of the sink hole when I turned on water to brush my teeth. No amenities except a well worn packet that said "makeup remover" (LOL I'm not putting that on my face!!!) and the Hilton "Zero" refillable shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that no one uses...unless they're desperate. I'm not expecting L'occitane, but I'm not touching that... The WORST PART that they don't tell you - you're feet from the interstate with a SECOND service road used by 18 wheelers racing through the night, mere steps away from where you're trying to sleep. This place was a nightmare. Breakfast included rotten bananas, and nothing looked clean or fresh. So, I went to Publix to buy breakfast. Filthy, no sleep, and twice the price of a beachfront Hilton...go ANYWHERE else.

1000% YES - this place is awesome! SO much better than every other hotel we've stayed at in…read moreFlorida. This hotel felt like and treated their guests like a true 5 star hotel. First....the grounds are beautiful, well maintained and vast. Upon arrival there's a choice of valet or self-park just out front. Before you can even get to the door someone has rushed to open it and greet you warmly. In fact, 1 guy was there at noon when we arrived and still there at 9pm. Even at 9pm he was still hustling, smiling and putting in just as much effort as he was many hrs earlier. The excellence of staff continued beyond the doormen. Every single staff member we encountered was equally engaged, acknowledged guests, was friendly and was genuinely competent at their job. SO refreshing!! We never saw any of the staff on their phones or busy talking with each other. The work ethic & polish this hotel expects from staff is obvious, appreciated & makes an impact on how we felt as guests. Upon entry, the lobby is gorgeous! Pristine, classy yet inviting. Loved the player piano & large fireplace. There were even some really lovely olive wood crosses available at the front desk, which was an especially nice touch over Easter. Often when a lobby is beautiful, the rooms are a let down. Not here! I didn't see any areas that were in need of attention. Our room felt incredibly clean - no missed corners, grimy spots, etc. It was immaculate and so welcoming...oh, and the room was really really big...and so comfortable. There was a large 2 door closet as well as a smaller closet for our child to use and appreciated having 3 suitcase holders that could fit into the closets so we didn't have to look at them in the room. The chairs in the room were actually comfortable to sit in and made sense with their location. Beds were wonderful and I might have to get 1 of their pillows as it was the first night in awhile that my neck hasn't hurt. Winning! The chocolates by the bedside were a fun treat, particularly the lemon truffle. The next key takeaway from this hotel is how clean it is everywhere. Already mentioned the lobby & rooms, but were out by the arena after the candy shop had closed and the person cleaning had all chairs completely off the floor, rug rolled up and outside and was cleaning like they wanted it to shine. My husband immediately noted that's a sign that someone actually taught the person how they wanted it cleaned rather than just asking them to clean. Big difference. Seriously - I could write a novel about this hotel/property and how great it was. Dog portraits line the walls and halls. There's a small patisserie (large one in the Manor, which you also need to explore), toy shop, bar, restaurant and shops to explore. You MUST stop at the patisserie - fresh, beautiful. We grabbed some items in a lovely box to take home as a gift. We also had breakfast at Stirrups and fully recommend dining here. It was wonderful and blew away all the "best" restaurants in Ocala. Our fruit platter was customizable, came with pink pineapple slices (!) and dragon fruit bits. The 3 egg omelet was the size of a 6 egg omelet and had more beautifully cooked bacon than one could hope. While filling our water glasses the pitcher dripped a couple times. Love that our server was right there with her towel to notice every detail. Beyond the really delicious food and outstanding service, we loved watching the horses warming up in the arena outside, looking around at the many dog portraits in the room and relaxing in the large leather chairs. HUGE shout out to the management staff! It's obvious the leadership here has expectations, does comprehensive training with staff and is actively engaged in ensuring the quality of the hotel. Is The Equestrian Hotel more expensive than the other hotel on site or hotels closer to town - yes, but it's so worth it and we would happily pay a higher price to stay here. Thank you for the wonderful weekend retreat!! We can't wait to return!

As far as Hilton Garden Inns go, I…read moream super disappointed with this downtown Ocala location and it's probably one of the worst I've stayed at. First off, even finding it is a little odd- the "entrance" is in the back of the building and not at all obvious like most hotel entrances are. There's also hardly any on site parking. It's a small lot that cost like $20 and isn't even guaranteed you get a spot. Otherwise, you have to park in the parking garage that's kiddie-corner to the hotel and walk all the way over. It's inconvenient, for sure. The hotel itself is pretty clean and what you should expect from a Hilton. Except it's super loud since you're downtown and near a lot of bars and other things. I'd recommend trying to get a room on the 4th or 5th floor, as my 5th floor room seemed to be a little more away from all the raucous. It's known to be so loud there that they leave ear plugs in each room instead of trying to actually do something to solve the issue. Yikes. They're also weird about late checkout and other options- you can move checkout like an hour later but anything past that they charge you. And there's no breakfast. I swear they literally try to charge you for anything they can- parking, checkout, breakfast etc. I just really was not impressed with the whole experience here and only stayed because it's the main hotel in downtown Ocala right now. The one upside I could see is that since it is in downtown it's in walking proximity to a lot of restaurants and some shopping, but that's about it.

We were not thrilled with parking across the street in a structure either. It isn't pleasant to drag your luggage back to the hotel after checking in. Especially after paying to park. An added bonus is that we could walk to dinner from the hotel and not move the car. The staff was very friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Would stay here again, but I really do nit like the parking situation.
