So I usually don't go out of my way to leave any reviews but I did want to give feedback on this gym. I had Visited this location on three different occasions and the front desk workers were not polite or welcoming. Their names were Mark and Issac. Isaac specifically did not help me when I came to the desk on three different occasions to ask for help with the wireless chargers. He did not even walk over to Help and I ended up having to figure out how to work the machine when he could've just walked over and Gave me a simple hand with the machine. Instead of walking over to me and helping he sat on his personal phone at the front desk. After figuring out how to work the machine on my own I walked over to the desk for a fourth time and let Isaac know how he can help the next person since I figured out the issue but while waiting to speak with him he pretended like he was on the work phone and just held it to his ear while I stood there waiting for him to be done with his "Phone call". Other than that the gym was flawless but the customer service was unfortunately terrible on three different occasions. Been a member since June 2023. Before I dive into every little detail; Equinox is for people who really just value a refined environment, refrigerated eucalyptus towels, and enjoy a gym that has maybe 50 people in it during peak hours. AMENITIES/FACILITY: Four floors. Floor one; men and women's lockeroom (bathroom, lockers, towels, showers, vanities, a private room for facials and massages, a steam room, then access to the lap pool), refrigerated eucalyptus towels, regular towels, a small cardio area (stairmaster, treadmill, rows, etc.), main fitness classroom, free weights, cable machines, two squat racks, a smith machine, upper body machines, stretch area (rollers, massage guns, etc.). Floor two: cardio floor (more treadmills, stationary bikes, etc.). Floor three: lower body machines, a few upper body machines, refrigerated eucalyptus towels, regular towels, cable machine, stretch beds, bike room (for classes), a few more treadmills, private pilates room, yoga room (mat pilates, yoga, meditation classes held here), and trainer/coaches office. Fourth floor: this floor is outdoors. There is a huge "jungle gym", rows, a few free weights, and sometimes they'll have classes up here when it's nice out - and of course, my favorite; refrigerated eucalyptus towels...and the regular towels. REASONS I SIGNED UP: The refined environment; I appreciate attention to detail, I enjoy the spa aesthetic, I like that there aren't teenagers crowding around gym equipment with their friends, and I appreciate not hearing people scream and grunt with weights in their hands, then slam them onto the ground. On the other hand, I do not like home gyms or workout videos - so at the time of signing up, this was the best gym for me. They are also pretty strict with people taking photos and recording on the workout floor which I'm so happy about due to prior to Equinox personal events. REASONS I WILL BE LEAVING: I knew Equinox was pricey when I signed up. I was okay with it. With the price increase in the past year to $226.24, I started to question the reason for it. In the past two years, they've only added three vibrating rollers, three Hyperice massage guns, maybe three to four machines that I rarely see getting used AND they downgraded from Kiehl's. On top of this, Equinox has gained huge traction and it's starting to feel like a standard commercial gym; the pool seems to always be slightly dirty, cable machine accesorries go missing/get broken and aren't replaced for over a whole month, stained towels are being overlooked, folded and placed up in the locker rooms - the consistent lack of attention is not what I signed up for. In addition, gyms with insane amenities and a huge range of machines are popping up everywhere; I'm just going to have to deal with the lack of visual aesthetics. I still love Equinox and will more than likely come back once they've regrouped and realized that they DO have serious competition. read more

For 10+ times the money of your local rec center, this is what you get; (1) a clean and welcoming locker room with amenities and towels, (2) open equipment even at the most busy times, and (3) no groups of teenagers socializing. It's a price I'm willing to pay for a daily relaxing and stress-free gym session, and I'm thankful that I can. I have had only one issue so far, but management took care of it promptly and decisively. I agree with a previous reviewer that the third floor is a jungle. If you are new to the gym, I recommend purchasing some training sessions to get used to the equipment on the first floor or sticking to the various classes. The community is diverse and welcoming, and you will have a fun experience in the classes. I have taken some yoga, but the more popular instructors lack depth because they teach everything and anything. I wish Shawn and Emma would teach more yoga, especially in the evening. read more

I've been an Equinox member for three years in New York and was ecstatic to hear that Plano got an Equinox. I really like this location and think it's amazingly maintained. Pros: -The hot yoga classes are incredible. Some of the best teachers I've taken from -The gym is super new (believe it opened in Oct 2019), so everything is well-organized and clean so far. Even the towels are still super fluffy and new -Really bright space -The locker room is absolutely stunning and super clean. This is by far the most gorgeous locker room of any Equinox I've been to. I love that there's hairdryers, hair ties, straighteners, pads, tampons etc. available -Though it's attached to Willowbend Mall, parking isn't an issue Cons: -Please, please, please add tissues next to each towel station! I think this is the only club I've been to without this -Really lacking in mid-day classes. I used to go to Lifetime in Plano and while it's no Equinox, there are way more classes offered -The membership is expensive. While I personally love Equinox, I feel like Lifetime is hard to beat in Plano for what you pay for The gym is generally pretty empty, a pro for some and a con for others. There's plenty of equipment to go around, and you're never going to wait for a machine. However, I personally enjoy a busier gym because of that extra motivation. read more

Fitness is a dime a dozen in Plano. Every corner has a 24 hour fitness, snap, crunch, crossfit or athletic center. Equinox finds its niche among those seeking pristine infrastructure that is clean and organized, and a plethora of classes that range from relaxed yoga rejuvenation to boot camp style butt kicking. I've tried them all. I've been a member at crossfit and lifetime, tried some orange theory with my wife, and dropped into many of the corner gyms. Equinox is something different. You'll notice it from the moment you walk in they've made an incredible investment in this space, and are careful about who they've hired to front of house operations. After three weeks of classes now there's still about a dozen different ones I'd like to try. The "playground" rooftop is swell with enough equipment to stand on it's own as a gym. It's been a little hot, but looking forward to hitting some lifts and classes here in the fall. A highlight of this location is their treadmill "lab" which has recessed lighting, a carefully implemented sound system, and outstanding air conditioning that make for a welcoming and accommodating environment to train. It's expensive. There's nothing getting around that. But the amenities, class offerings, and customer service are second to none. Talk to their fitness advisor, Brandon, he'll show you these things first hand. Equinox is not for the faint of heart, but if you're looking for a fitness oasis that is motivating and fully stocked they're worth your consideration. read more

I figured that since he was sitting on the machine reading emails he would graciously let me work in. No dice! He wouldn't let me get in a quick set. He continued sitting on the machine reading his phone, then did five reps of 65 pounds. Time for a breather after all of that tonnage! Back to TikTok. I told the front desk. (This is the fourth time I've reported this.). Zero action taken. Equinox is a very nice, very expensive health club, populated by people going to classes and going through the motions on the machines. Perfect for west plano. I tend to make it out there in the mornings when the gym is at its highest polish. Members are also very respectful and intelligent. Love this place but my adult ADD is going crazy. Why does the music in the gym have to be SO LOUD? If you're on the second floor doing cardio the speakers are 3ft from your head. Absolutely love this Equinox location and its staff! I grew up in Plano but have since moved to NYC. I rarely come back, but it's always interesting to see what new developments crop up in my absence. When I heard equinox was coming to Plano, I knew I was in for a treat! This location is brand new, spacious, bright and clean, and has every amenity and machine you could desire. I am back in Plano for an extended stay due to family reasons, and this gym has been my haven from recent hardships of life. The staff members are always friendly, have a smile for me, and a fresh eucalyptus towel when I'm dying on mile 10 on the treadmills. While the gym does get a bit more crowded at peak times, I have never seen benches completely taken up nor lines for machines, a welcome treat from many of the NYC locations I frequent. I have not encountered a single problem or issue coming here, only the best of service and even a welcome celeb sighting of Chace Crawford. I will be back, probably tomorrow! read more

On their opening weekend, I did a quick workout, followed by a 1-hour massage with Valerie and then a hydra-facial with Mia. The staff was exceptional; the Spa Team was as hospitable and courteous as one can expect, the front desk Team was friendly and personal, missing no detail from the moment I checked in and out, and the club is solid. I visited as a guest for an hour, and 3 of the 5 machines I went to use were out of order. A couple of pins didn't release weights and were not calibrated. I was a member of Telos for years and was hoping this would be a similar style gym. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. The front staff is not very helpful, the locker room was "ok" and was not able to try the steam room, sauna, or classws because I was only given that hour to try it out due to another commitment. The hours are ridiculous for true gym rats, as well. I had hoped for more - I think LA Fitness and Lifetime are superior and less expensive, as well. read more

Customer Service: Front desk is always friendly and greets you. If you ever need anything, they are generally helpful immediately. Except for this one time a late night locker room staff asked me to throw away my trash outside of the locker room because she was responsible of throwing out the trash in the locker room for closing. This was about 30 mins before closing time. Equipments: Staff periodically organizes the equipments so it's really easy to find what you need. They pretty much have at least one set of basic lifting equipment. They also have few smaller unique items I don't see at other lower end gyms. Locker rooms: Always clean and amenities are full. Plenty of space. Signing up/Cancellation: Super easy and friendly. I interacted with two Equinox staff regarding this and both were easy to talk to, not pushy, and prompt to answer all my questions and process. COVID19: Staff cleans every few hours THOROUGHLY. I really appreciate this. I honestly think this was something every gym kept up even post COVID since people sweat and who knows where their hands have been. Mask is required to wear except during extraneous exercise, but I see a lot of people not following this rule and staff doesn't intensely enforce it. I don't complain because I'm still able to social distance and nobody is breathing on me heavily. People generally also wipe off their equipment and that's appreciated too. Classes: Instructors are top notch and speciality studio level. All the equipment you need is already in the classrooms. Yoga has the mat, mat towels, brick, blankets, etc. Other: Speakers in the locker room and out on the floor are excellent. I enjoyed their selection of music for the most part. Spa towels are wonderful to use after a hard workout. I love this gym. If you can afford it and you want a luxurious experience working out, I would def recommend Equinox. read more

So I randomly stumbled into Equinox with a buddy of mine while visiting the mall because he told me Terry Crews had worked out at one, which I have no idea if that's true or not but it piqued my interest . My thought process was that if my man Terry worked out at this gym, then perhaps I could get as yoked as him. Anyways, we decided we would check it out. From the outside, this gym is unassuming but the second you take a step inside you get slapped in the face with an aura of luxury and class. We went up to the receptionist and were quickly granted a tour without a scheduled time which was super convenient and we signed up that same day. This place is never crowded and is always clean. Most equipment I need is readily available. I never feel my health is at risk due to covid. Masks are worn and safety guidelines are followed. Employees are constantly sanitizing equipment. All of the employees at Equinox are extremely respectful and truly make an effort to ensure everyone's experience is the best it can possibly be. However, that being said, there are two individuals that I want to recognize truly transforming my Equinox experience - Nick and Norma. Nick always greets me by name when I walk in and asks how my day was or what I have going on while genuinely being interested in what I have to say. Each time I talk to him, I walk away in a better mood than I originally started out with. Now Norma on the other hand isn't an elderly woman like her name would have you believe, but is actually one of the most personable/knowledgeable membership advisors that Equinox was lucky enough to employ. I was introduced to her due to issues I was having I with my referral bonus not coming through and she quickly and competently answered any questions I had and followed up to make sure my problem had been resolved. My only complaint is she wasn't the individual who took me on my tour when I originally signed up because I hear she gives phenomenal tours to potential new members. So if you are interested in this gym, request Norma for your walk through so you can avoid the regret that I am now filled with due to that missed opportunity. I will warn you though, she is a little short, so you may have to bend over to hear her because she is pretty far down there or just ask her to speak up a little. I was a member for a year and really liked the club and the classes. Pilates classes and paid-for items are a bit outrageous, but it is personal fitness instead of large groups. I gave it a one star because I got a corporate email saying that proof of vaccines would be required for employees and members, first in New York. I called, and they said they aren't doing that here in Plano yet. So I guess it is coming and is a policy. What about my twenty-year-old daughter that already had covid? She needs a shot to get in? I am so against anyone other than a doctor checking on personal medical information, so I quit my membership then. So disappointing. read more

I signed the membership before they open because The location and their brand. I have a daughter and I don't have other family members in United States so I have to take her with me most time when I go to Gym. They have kids center so I didn't have any question I signed membership. After long time waiting they finally opened! I made a appointment with personal trainer, I ask her I only can come in when kids center open, so she give a time. But when I came in they said kids center closed that time! So I have nothing to do, so we decided take a shower, bathroom is very nice. But! But! When we took off all the clothes and only covers a towel , a woman who didn't ware the uniform tell me my daughter can't take a shower here! First of all you already make us embarrassed when we didn't ware anything! Second your attitude is rude！ I said every gym kids can shower like lifetime? She told me here is not lifetime! My daughter she don't have membership here! What shit you talking about?! I asked why don't let members know at first time? She just say I will let you know kid center time! Then their manager came in ask me what happened. I told her. She said you can shower today but they don't allowed kids shower and swim! Kids only allow in kids center and lobby. After all she said sorry and say will let manger know. But when I ask my daughter to take shower she refused! Even 6 years old girl feel humiliated! After 30 minutes their manager called me said sorry, but things already happened! We feel humiliated! You should training your employees how to talk with customers! Or fire her! Not worth it ! Save your money!!! One of their managers is completely useless and some of their trainers too. Got injured in an instructor-led class cause instructor failed to provide proper guidance and now I might need ankle surgery and they refuse to take any accountability at all and help me out. And I had to call a few times to even get an update on the incident report I filled.
