Solid gym that's clean, simple, and gets the job done. No unnecessary frills, just a good setup at an affordable price. The Dallas Cowboys theme is a nice touch and perfect for any fan. I've been a member at Cowboys Fit since 2022 and it has consistently been good. Before signing up with Cowboys I toured at least five or six other gyms in the Allen/Plano area looking for a gym that was not only reasonable in cost, but had a safe and clean kids care. Cowboys Fit had it all! Their Rowdy Room is clean, safe and the staff are amazing with the kids. In addition I can pay per-kid or per-month for the Rowdy Room and the cost is reasonable. The other gyms I toured charged MORE for my kids care than my actual membership. The facilities are just right, including a full shower and locker room for both men and women. I can get a full workout in then shower and get ready before picking my kiddos up on my way out. They have free weights, a good deal of machines, plenty of treadmills, stair climbers and elliptical machines as well as a large area for weight lifting. I also utilize the good size open space for non-machine workouts. I've taken advantage of the personal training as well as had a great experience. Olivia or "Liv" was wonderful and I got a lot out of the sessions I had with her. Cowboys has had their hiccups through the years (no hot water, flooding in the locker room, big staff changes, rotating kids care staff, etc), but overall I've been really happy with my time at Cowboys. I know there are gyms that offer far more "extras" or luxuries but you pay for those and I don't need any of it. I can do it all at Cowboys. read more

I pay less than $60 a month for Cowboys Fit, and I honestly feel like I'm getting away with something. This place is massive--like "did I just get my steps in walking to the locker room?" massive. The equipment? Top notch. The classes? Plentiful. The Zumba? A full-body party every single day. And then there's the recovery room. Let me say this slowly for dramatic effect: water. massage. beds. They will change your life, your mood, and possibly your alignment with the universe. Unlike those budget gyms where you're practically working out in someone else's sweat cloud, Cowboys Fit never feels crowded. There's room to move, breathe, and not accidentally high-five a stranger mid-bicep curl. And the staff? All-stars. I'll just say this... a lot has come into perspective for me within the past week. I've been a member of this gym for at least a year. I probably would have joined a lot sooner, but the Frisco location's reputation kind of put a damper on that. You see, the Frisco location is located at the Frisco Star. ANNND the membership is expensive. WHY? I have no idea. Yes, it's three levels and has a pool. There are also nice views of the Star. It's a nice gym, but the price doesn't justify me joining. I'm sorry but being able to say that I'm 'working out at the almighty "STAR" with the hip crowd' isn't enough. Oh... I think you can watch the Cowboys practice... I guess. Honestly, I need to see the value in my money. Having said that, I thought the Plano gym was the same situation- in terms of price. (Yes, I'm off of Frisco and back on Plano from this point on) My wife set it up where I joined (Plano) under her "membership umbrella". The price was somewhat reasonable.... a lot more reasonable than Frisco. Here's the catch... I can't work out at the Frisco gym. In all honesty, I can care less about that. So anyway, I've been working out there for the past year. And for the most part, it's ok. About two months ago, they started putting out towels at the front desk. Apparently, we were supposed to have towels the whole time but they were just now able to supply us with the complimentary towels. I'll just leave that there. Then Crunch Fitness opened this week. For $20 a month (at Crunch), I get access to that gym and all the gyms across America. Not only that, the gym is larger, they seem to have more classes (including boxing/ kickboxing), MORE EQUIPMENT, and there's massage chairs (and hydro massages) that come with the membership! Like Cowboys, they also have a sauna. They also have tanning. Now I'm starting to look at my Cowboys Fit membership... So for the price I'm paying at Cowboys Fit (which is more than Crunch), I get access the the same equipment... but in a smaller setting. During peak times, it's hard to use certain equipment. I'm not interested in any of the classes they offer. If I want to use their hydro massage equipment or tanning, I have to pay extra. And to top it off, I only have access to that one location in Plano. Now I'm asking myself, "WHERE IS THE VALUE IN WHAT I AM PAYING FOR?" I honestly do not see any advantage of being at Cowboys Fit over Crunch. The clientele at Cowboys is better than what you'd find at a Planet Fitness or a Texas Family Fitness. But so is Crunch. The clientele at Crunch seems to identical to Cowboys Fit. Quiet as it's kept, I'm seeing a lot of Cowboys Fit clientele at Crunch! So I think others are starting to see the writing on the wall too. I don't get it. I've already laid out the pros, the cons... and the cons... Needless to say, if I continue to enjoy my Crunch membership, I'm going to have a serious talk with the folks at Cowboys Fit. OVERALL: I recommend you still check out this gym, but I promise there are better gyms out there... AND for a better price. If you're a die-hard Cowboys fan, maybe this place is for you. I can't make that call. Check it out for yourself. I gave the place a chance but now I really need to rethink my reasons for being there. The music at this place is so loud that you can't hear anything on your headphones. I have noise canceling earbuds and I can still hear the music. It's ridiculous. I asked one of the desk people to turn it down and she said 'no'. Seriously? I canceled my membership there. I will go elsewhere. read more

I love the staff and the gym itself but, the management of the gym is terrible. They apparently are trying to save money by raising the temperature in the back of the gym to lower the operations cost at the expense of the members. When you walk in the front is nice and cool but as you walk back it gets hotter and hotter. They do this so that new members touring the gym don't notice it until they sign up and work out in the back that when they begin to seriously sweat. The fans are up front and in the middle but none in the back. If you like a hot gym and you want to sweat hard then this is the place for you. I am not the only member that feels this way. I also work out at Club 4 and they don't have this hot house thing in the back of the gym happening there. When I ask the staff about it they say it is preset and they can't do anything about it. Like I said It's managements choice to operate this way, this is why I left Texas Family Fittness as they had the same exact issue. read more

The gym itself is fine. The problem is the music is played entirely too loud. I measured the sound today at 90 decibels, and it has definitely been louder. 85 Db and above can cause hearing loss. I have asked multiple members of the staff and management to turn the music down and am given different versions of no every time. It just feels like this gym is run by teenagers. I canceled my membership. Too bad, because it's not a bad gym otherwise. Sign up if you're looking for tinnitus and early aged hearing loss. read more

So I tried this downtown Dallas location a few weeks ago. It was okay but in my previous post I explained how dead the place felt. First off the brother with the high top fade was excellent. I went on a 3 day pass and he bumped it up to 4. No problem. I worked out for about 30 minutes but the vibes were really off so I didn't return after my first day. So the following day they start sending me texts about some promotional party with free workout and exclusive new members discounts. I kept receiving the same promotional email every other day. So when I go into the gym to give it one more test run some young lady tells me I have to join today or I can't work out today even though the several texts said nothing of the sort. So I politely say ok I must've read that wrong and proceeded to leave. While I'm outside in front of the location she comes back out to say oh her manager said it was ok and that I could workout. Um no thank you the vibes were off then and they are definitely off now. I knew I could've worked out but what I've been learning about this great city of Dallas is that people here are fake AF!!!!!! That's the feeling I got from this gym the first time and definitely got that feeling even more this last time. 1. The hours suck 2. The prices are horrible if you want to workout at multiple locations. The few positive things I can say about this gym is that the gym is very clean and most of the staff(only the African Americans) are pleasant but for me it's just not the right vibe. For heavens sake the sauna isn't even co-ed and they don't even have a pool. I would've joined the East Dallas location but once again the hours suck but the vibe is a little better over at that location. This place is great if you like to watch unruly teenagers play grabass and generally remind you why you chose to not have children. Cowboys Fit is also staffed by teenagers which explains why the music is soooo bad and too loud. Bathroom was filthy yesterday and it appears that no one will bring themselves to take out the trash when the bins are overflowing. Other members spend a lot of time loitering on machines and looking at their phones. This was a pretty good gym back in 2019 when they first opened but they seem to have changed their strategy toward "family" memberships which explains why this place is full of high school and younger aged kids without supervision. I don't think they have added a new piece of equipment in the last two years....maybe since they opened? A truly uninspiring place to train despite fairly good facilities. read more

(INEXPERIENCED SALES CONSULTANT / REPRESENTATIVE) I work for a major National Fitness chain on the weekends, but really enjoy working out at your facility. The facility itself is top notch; the equipment, spacing and cleanliness are excellent. Also the personal trainers are very knowledgeable, and professional, especially Chris Huzdovich, his advice helped me place 1st in my heat, and we placed 2nd overall in a team triathlon. The front desk staff is also very professional. However, there are areas for improvement. For example, the sales consultant / representative, Jason Kurien has poor communication skills and doesn't follow through in customer support. Bad attitude / poor communication skills should not overlooked by the employer. Perhaps, this could be remedied by additional staff training. read more

Visited Cowboy Fit in Plano as a guess. Sat down with Membership Manager Don Webber. Great guy, really polite and welcoming. He provide me with many membership options that would fit my budget, set up a tour for me, and followed up with me during my workout. The Plano facility is nice, spacious, and up-to-date. I would recommend. If you plan to visit the facility, ask for Don Webber! Even though I visited Plano, he was knowledgeable about other locations throughout. read more

Weather closures are very poorly handled by Cowboys Fit. I am a member at the Plano location. The message yesterday said that the club would open late (10am) due to weather. At 10:30am, there were 5-6 of us waiting outside for the club to open. No one was there. Obviously we all made it to the gym, but your employees could not? And since when is no advance notification of closing acceptable treatment of your customers? Very poor form! I wonder if they be refunded an amount equivalent to every day they are closed over the month? They are taking your money, but not providing the service hours they agreed to provide in the membership agreement. Somehow I doubt it. read more

The staff is excellent The gym is very good but this virus is spreading like wildfire and younger people including myself are having problems like headaches six months after. Everybody wants this virus to disappear but it's getting more dangerous with long covid symptoms. First Europe and now here with younger people. I know it sucks to tell people to wear masks but it will be worse when you get an infection and have to deal with. Could you announce every 30 minutes to wear masks or have something signed of at least have someone walk around every thirty minutes reminding everyone? I just found out a few gyms in the area had infected and they need to go through major steps. It's not worth it because I am living proof this virus means business. My headaches 6 months after suck as well as three of my friends in different states- one in college. If any one from administration is reading this, please try to help people wear masks. 3 times in 5 days there were no paper towels in the locker room and no wipes to wipe down the equipment. You can't dry your hands after washing them and you can't wipe down equipment before and after use. Totally unsanitary. Spoke with gym manager twice. No interest or intention to address problem. He just made excuses blaming corporate for staffing while he b*ll sh*tied with 4 of his staff at the front desk. I guess it is below their pay grade to put paper towels in a dispenser. Been a member since they opened. Looking for a new gym where they care about the safety of their members. read more

Overall cowboys is a pretty good place. But there a few things the staff members need to do. One educate gym members to clean up afterwards. Your mother doesn't work here. Be considerate of your fellow gym members and wipe up down the machines when you are done. The team members should walk through the gym and clean machines. read more

I think CowboysFitness Plano is a great gym. There is a broad selection of excellent equipment, The equipment is organized well and fully maintained. I always have access to whatever I need. Everything is kept clean, and the staff is consistently very friendly. The yoga classes are very good. The locker room and showers are clean and uncrowded. The sauna is a nice way to complete a work-out. The gym is priced fairly. One could pay more and may not get more. One could pay less and probably not quite have the same experience. I see the negative reviews. Maybe there were problems in the past, I do not know. My current experience is very positive. read more

The downtown location doesn't have dedicated parking which is a bummer. The gym itself is super clean with constant cleaning crew. The equipment is new and they have everything you need. Keep in mind the downtown location just opened so I'd be curious to see how beat up this place is after a year. Equipment is decent, they could get rid of half of the cardio and bring in some more up to date pieces. Some of the staff are nice, they are horrible with customer service, but nice, very young and immature crew. Tons of turnover already and I have only been a member for a few months, which typically is a sign of poor leadership. The music is always an issue, very loud hard core hip hop that is on repeat. They seem to be appealing the playlist to the 15-18 year old male, but that is not the bulk of the demographic, and it is the DIRTIEST club I have ever been in. The sanitizing wipe stations are always empty, never any paper towel in the bathrooms and dust and old gum everywhere. Was planning on hiring a trainer when I first joined, but the only female trainer they have is too busy and the rest are men who act like robots and do the same exercises with every client, every day, not worth the investment. Classes aren't worth it either, only one true spin class, and the classes in the big room are extremely out of date. 0/10. Lifetime, here I come read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND! I cancelled my membership two days before the billing cycle due to my recovery after surgery. They told me that I will be charged for the next month because I did not cancel 10 days prior to the billing. Then, I asked to talk to the manager about if I could use my month that I paid for in future and the girl on the phone told me that manager doesn't want to speak to you and she refused to connect me to someone who could help. I also stopped going to the gym for months prior due to machines are always occupied and the place turned into a dating site. I couldn't get a gym session without being interrupted. People go and use the saunas with dirty clothes after their work out and I never was able to use their sauna due to that reason. Also , many people don't sanitize the machine after they use. They close early and that was another reason for me not able to go to the gym.After all, I definitely not recommend this place after I see how they handle the customer services. read more

Environment: Gym is spacious, but tight in the free weight area. Equipment: 5+ types of cardio machines. A lot of variations of weight machines. Like one set of dumbbells that go up to 120. I think 6+ squat rack. Many other equipments I don't know the names of. Lockers: Spacious. Never runs out of paper towels. Hot sauna is in here. To the untrained eyes, it looks clean, but if you look at the details it's a little sus. Customer service: Everyone is friendly. I sometime see lack of care, but they are still friendly. Talking about getting a membership was fine. The staff weren't pushy and they answered all my questions. A bit slow with fixing things. Reported a jammed locker and noticed it wasn't fixed for over a weekish. Culture: I see variety of ages, but more often a younger crowd. It's annoying because I see some people not cleaning up after themselves there. COVID-19: They told me they remind members to put their mask on every 30 mins. They don't do that. I see quite a bit of people without masks (including those that wears it ineffectively) and it's unsafe. I would not recommend folks to come here because of this reason and members themselves not giving a shit even tho they have signs stating it's required. They have stations with wipes in various areas. I wished they had more stations and stronger solutions, but I guess current setup and materials work. I don't see housekeeping disinfectant equipments ever. They do come in and do the basics. It's a decent gym for the price. I would recommend if a pandemic wasn't a concern, but not now. read more

Have been going there since the beginning. New mask policy is absolutely terrible. They don't understand how dangerous it is to do heavy lifting while wearing a mask, obstructing breathing. Immediately canceled and went to LA Fitness today. They are extremely professional and understanding. They also have a huge pool and tub plus saving an extra 30$ a month (I pay for two memberships). The equipment is nice and new. There are plenty of racks and cardio equipment. The staff is friiendly. There are a lot of tvs that would be nice for games but most of them are set to a generic Cowboys social media station that plays the same clips on loop for months now. They do not supply towels like other gyms in the area. This gym has the worse hours of any gym I've been a member of. Closes at 7pm on weekends and is usually closed on any holiday. Holidays that other gyms are open for this gym will be closed or open until 1pm or a very early time. read more

The equipment and the facility are top notch. However, the staff is not - particularly management. They close at the drop of a hat for little to no reason. They close for minor holidays or reduce hours to the point where people who work out after work can't. And they certainly don't give a refund for that. Their "regular" hours change so much that nobody can keep up with them. They close way too early for those of us who work until 5 or 6 in the evening. When asked about it, the response that I got was that "the staff needs to have a life too." No. The staff needs to do their job and if they don't like the hours, then they need to go to work somewhere else. For example, they close at 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. Oh, and the management team is like a revolving door there. They fire people left and right for the most ridiculous reasons. So, if you just want to work out and you can do so on THEIR schedule and not YOUR schedule, then it might work for you. read more
