DO NOT USE!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!! I locked my keys in my car at the Pilot station, right across the street from their yard outside of Madera. I called, the dispatcher, said she'd need to get a quote from her supervisor, then call me back. She called 10 minutes later with a quote for $195, sent me the invoice, and said she'd dispatch a driver. I paid the invoice, and did not hear back for almost 30 minutes. I called her back, she said the driver was on his way to pick up the lockout kit from their yard - across the street from the Pilot. Ten minutes later I get a call from their driver, he asked the year/make/model of my car, and said he'd be there in 10-15 minutes. Another 30 minutes goes by and I receive a call from their dispatch and she tells me her driver said he wouldn't be able to unlock my car because of the key fob being in the car - I told her this was the 2nd time I have done this, and it wasn't an issue last time. She once again said they couldn't do it, and her supervisor would need to be the one to issue me a refund because she couldn't - but was unaware of how long it would take to post back to my account. I called another tow truck company. The driver was there within 5 minutes, used the same lockout kit that was used before - with absolutely no damage to my car - and I was on my way within 20 minutes of my phone call to them. Also, for a third of the price! If you need ANY type of tow service in the Madera area, use Ron's!!! DO NOT USE THIS PRICE GOUGING COMPANY!!! read more

I was grateful that I found a company to come and assist with an air brake problem on my Class A RV. I was stranded at a Love's truck stop on a Saturday afternoon with my two daughters. I was however extremely disappointed to be told that I was to be charged $660 for a trip charge and a minimum number of labor hours, no matter what the problem was. Parts and additional labor would be added, if needed. I waited a hour for the mechanic to arrive. Turns out, the mechanic, who was extremely pleasant, misdiagnosed my problem and told me I needed to be towed to an RV repair shop and have my compressor replaced. I questioned him on the exact reason he thought this and then asked for him to show me in detail on his diesel truck. He did so willingly and that's when he discovered that his diagnosis was incorrect. He manually filled my air brakes, and found no leaks, and I have had no further issues. I do believe I only needed to sit and run with high RPM's for a few minutes, and my problem would have resolved itself. The fact that this was $660 is ridiculous. Total price gouging when you're in a bind. Freightliner gave me this company as a recommendation to contact and I will be letting them know of my experience as well. read more

Called my insurance company to get a tire replaced on my motor home, this was their recommendation. They quoted a price three times over retail, with the insurance company paying for the service call. I called the insurance company back, said I just wanted the spare put on. They said they would be there in 75 minutes. After an hour waiting for them, they called the insurance company and changed their mind, they wouldn't change the tire, they wanted to tow it. We went to the shop down the road and got two tires mounted, balanced and installed for about the price of their single tire. Avoid them, and tell your insurance company you want someone else. read more

Friendly service and a bit beyond standard towing. Was stranded on Interstate 5 in the middle of literally nowhere and their prices were good and timely. It might help to try and negotiate the price down further, but it's on a case-by-case basis, and there's a difference between flatbed and regular towing so ask first. Aside from the basics, I noticed they really stretched the time out getting me from where I was to where I requested - to fill that 1 hour timeframe to get the $$$. Small detail but worth noting. They were very helpful in recommending a local motel which was clean and had internet to help me fix my own car - very closeby to the local AutoZone. Do not go with their recommendation on mechanics though - the mechanic tried to rip me off by just briefly looking at my car and telling me the engine head was gone and had to be completely replaced. I ended up changing the spark plugs and corresponding wires myself, then filling up the empty radiator and the car's been running without problems since. We took our motorhome to Bass Lake California. We towed our Honda for campground area transportation. At the end our stay, the motorhome starter completely failed. We couldn't locate a repair facility open on Sunday, so we called Eppler towing, who dispatched Armando. Armando could not have been more courteous, professional, or helpful. He towed our motorhome to our residence (150 miles) and arrived shortly after we did. He skillfully backed the motorhome into our backyard, into a position where it could be safely accessed for us to unload, and was accessible for repairs. He made sure the wheels were blocked and the parking brake was set before he disconnected it from the towtruck. Armando's service was professional and top notch. read more

We had a 44-foot shipping container moved from Sanger to Friant. From the pick up to the laydown, the two guys who came out were professional and polite. When presented with a challenge on where we wanted it placed, they thought it through, discussed it with us and eventually came up with a solution that solved our problem. These guys are AWESOME!!! My car broke down on the side of the highway and I was able to get it to the side of the road, get a flatbed tow trailer and no.way to get it up on it. They came out and we're more then happy to assist without killing our bank account. The perfect storm of a flat: driving a truck (AAA does not service trucks) which has non-standard tire size (Japanese truck) on a Sunday (most places along Interstate 5 are closed). Thank heavens for mobile phones and smart phones. Finally, after numerous calls and being forwarded to call centers in India and Ohio (!!! really?)), we reached Eppler. Oh my what a difference. By this time, we could explain the entire situation in a few words and the man at Eppler took care of us. He couldn't make it immediately (there was a case before us) but gave us a wait time. Then he called because the preceding case was longer than expected. Drat, one thinks. BUT, he called OTHER towing/repair houses and found one with our tire size and close to us. He put us in touch with that repair house - who did a great job, changing out two tires and putting us back on the road. Eppler received no money from this but saved the day. I had to relay information they did not like so they pretty much cursed the whole time they were at my window. Cannot remember the tow truck drivers name that was so kind to my wife & myself but boy that truck. Big Lone Star International. He didn't ask us one question about how or what we wanted him to do about the tow. He removed our drive shaft for a 15 mile tow. Then only charged $400 WHICH was very (cheap) compared to the Industry standard. The next day we broke down again with software issues,needing updated for the engine. We called a wrecker out of Yuma,Az. The driver showed up & said he would be ready in 10 minutes to go. Then after he said no need to remove the drive shaft I mentioned if Eppler removed it for a 10 - 15 mile tow he (Would) remove it for a tow 5 times longer. He said he only had room for one driver in his pete w/large sleeper. I rode in our towed semi while my wife rode with the tow driver. She said the truck was completely trashed. That was the reason why there was no room. I have always believed you get what you pay for. 100 percent of the time. Eppler showed up installed TOW signs & lights towed us 15 miles,made us laugh all the way with stories. apx 3 hrs. $400. If I could I would rate this company -5 stars because I got my car towed and I went to the tow yard to see if I can get my stuff out of the car, but they denied and didn't let me take anything out not even my babies diapers and clothes. My car was totaled in an accident about 1/4 of the way into a 14hr road trip to vacation. We had our dog and a car full of camping gear with us, so it was a very stressful event. We were so fortunate to have Eppler pick us up. The tow truck driver was extremely helpful and did a great job explaining things. There are no rental cars in Firebaugh and we had all our stuff so we thought we were screwed. Enter Brent - long time Eppler employee and owner of a big pickup. He offered to load all our stuff into his truck and drive us 50 miles to Fresno to get a rental car. He chatted with me the whole way about the area, his life, our plans. He sat at the airport with me while we got a car. This was about 3 hours out of his life that he did not have to give. He basically saved our vacation. I work for Allstate Insurance. One of our clients was stranded on I5 right 5 miles from this towing company. I give this business 0 stars. The man that answered the phone was extremely rude and said we don't cover insurance. Our client was going to pay them in full and submit her receipt for reimbursement to Allstate. He informed me that they charge $200 an hour and was NOT WILLING TO EVEN HELP AT ALL!!!! NEVER CALL THIS TOW COMPANY. Funny, cause I thought a tow company's job was to help people stranded on the road. My office will NEVER call this company again. We have several clients in the LA area, they will never call this company. To the person that answered the phone on 9/24/2014 at 12:20 pm, you know who you are.... You are NOT helpful at all. I was just trying to send you business. You could have been making your $200 an hour, apparently you don't need the business. I will also be letting all of our Allstate agents in that area to NEVER call your place of business for a tow or anything else.
