Jason must be an angel! My car wouldn't start this morning, and I know absolutely nothing about car repair, so I attempted to contact at least 5 random local mechanics via Yelp. Jason responded (via text) within 10 minutes. A few others responded but didn't offer any help (or were too busy). Even though Jason wasn't working today (he mentioned being out with family), he texted me instructions on how to do a few tests to determine the potential cause of the problem. Because of his help, we narrowed down to most likely a simple bad battery (it is 5 years old). Per his quick text instructions, I got my car jump-started, and drove down to the auto parts store that he recommended (O'Reilly at 1550 South King St. Honolulu) where I received the best customer service I have ever experienced in my 35 years of life (and I've worked in the customer service industry for over 15 years). Anyway, now my car is running perfectly, which I couldn't have done without Jason's help. Only cost me the $125 battery that I got installed for free (also thanks to Jason's store recommendation), and the store employee (Mike) who installed the battery was the nicest guy, who honestly and clearly explained all of my options, and even patiently showed me step-by-step how to remove/replace the battery while he did it himself (and he refused to accept my cash tip). This should all have been a very stressful and intimidating experience, but I actually walked out of this all with a big smile on my face, and feeling a lot smarter about how to care for my car! To top this all off, Jason charged me NOTHING for his help. I literally had two guys work together to help me fix my car, they taught me valuable car troubleshooting/repair lessons, and all I had to pay for was the $120 battery (the store even gave me an $18 discount)!!!
