I have never received worse customer service than I did at this place of business. I just wanted my bike cleaned up and some of the rust off of the chain and to get everything adjusted so that I can use it this summer. I spent $95 and what I received is a bike with the same rusty chain with a little bit of air pumped into the tires. The seat wasn't adjusted properly. I was never asked to get on it so that they could adjust it properly and it was still a little muddy, the way that I had brought it in. They couldn't even wipe it down for $95. I find it appalling then when I asked if someone could please bring the bike out to my car and put into my SUV because I had hurt my shoulder Pedro in bike repair got annoyed and didn't wanna do it. He handed me my bike and stormed off. I spoke to the manager who couldn't have cared less. I've already contacted the store manager via email who basically said... "I heard that eventually things worked out ok"...No, they didn't work out OK, as I never received an apology and no one ever offered to make it right. I need to do some research and reach out to the CEO of this company cause I am so appalled and angry about this. I have been in the customer service field for 40 years and I have never ever treated anyone as poorly as I was treated by Pedro and the manager of the store. I stopped by today for a new bike helmet. I passed a couple employees and saw several standing around while I browsed and tried on different helmets. After 10 minutes or so, a gentleman walked over and asked if I needed any help. I asked him some questions about the helmets, tried on a couple for him, and finally settled on one. If you're like me I shop fast. So this store that was previously in Arvada and just moved to this location very recently works for me! Having taken up skiing very recently I'm always on the lookout for ski pants, jacket and socks. This store doesn't disappoint. They have more size XS than my other bigger and famous store. Their recent new address used to be the home of a bicycle store. The Bicycle Village. The warehouse style location is definitely bigger. Unlike their old store in Arvada which was cozy and made the place looked like it's loaded to the brim with almost everything for skiing and golfing. When I walked in this new location and my company started looking at ski pants and jackets. They were out of most sizes on most pants. But I know from having visited them in their old location that they will get this part fixed. They usually say what they do and do what they say. The fitting room is to your left as you walk in. The cashier as well. Skis towards the back. The men's clothing area straight ahead and women's and kids to the left. Rentals to the back on the right. Bathroom all the way to the back slightly to your left after you pass the skis. They're one of the best ones to fit your skis. It's crucial that it's done right. They're also known to be the cheapest rent in town for skis, ski boots and avalanche beacon etc. and boats! But in general it is more expensive to rent in the resort. Ski gear in resorts starts from $32.80/day in Winter Park to $63.70/day at Aspen/ Snow mass area. You will like this my dear reader. This store rents them out for $16/day! Reserve online. Best option. The staff here is awesome. Now they're in a bigger location I expect them to carry a lot more stuff to fill up their giant space. More cool stuff! Yay! read more

I bought some new tires for my bike and was really struggling to get even one on as I'm a novice. I was very frustrated and finally decided I needed help from a pro, so I took my wheels in at 5:30 pm, figuring I'd have to leave them overnight. Nope! Pedro at the service desk was amazing and changed them for me right there, showing me how to do it and giving me some tips so I could do it myself in the future. I was nervous to go in because I am not the double black diamond thin skier. I have thick calves and am a moderate skier. Pros: Helpful staff that will explain whatever it is you need to know. Cons: Prices are very high unless if you go during the sales that they have every now and then. I'm a beginner snowboarder as of winter 2018 and when I showed up clueless one of their employees pretty much broke down everything I needed to know before jumping into this expensive commitment. Two years in a row now the techs have made big mistakes fitting our kids in snowboards (using screws that were too long and insecure, torn up boards, bindings that didn't work), which caused us to have to have techs at the mountain resorts make temporary repairs for us until we could return to the store a second time. Upon return, the manager offered us a refund for the cost of the rental due to due the inconvenience. Never saw that refund. Today, went in to look at mountain bikes. Stood around the bike section for ten minutes without being acknowledged. Meanwhile, employees were visiting with each other. Won't be coming back here for anything. read more

I brought in two gently used specialized bikes for service. They had been in a garage for over 3 years unused. I asked for 2 new tires and tubes on each, two new chains and full tune ups. I was quoted one price and gladly left the bikes for service. When I returned to pick them up the price was more than double the quoted price. Let's start with the blonde hair sales guy the min I walked in. Laughing at my old bikes he asked jokingly "Want to a new bike? No, I didn't get his name because he didn't introduce himself. As service employees looked over the bikes and made a ticket the blonde sales guys annoyingly hovered with his sarcasm. A week later I kept getting a rear flat and return to another bike shop. I am a huge fan, as this is where my family and I buy all our ski gear. We go to there Fall tent sale, which rocks! We also get the Epic pass here, and the free program for our daughter; 2-5th grade, 4days at four or five of the main mountains. Breck, Vail, Keystone, Crested Butte, and I think Beaver Creek? We also get her the ski swap program every year. We bought her skis and boots with bindings fir $100, then swap them each year for $50 to a bigger size, as she grows. Great program for the kids. For me, the service and knowledgeable staff make it a great place to buy your gear. The other really cool thing is their guarantee on their equipment. If you buy new, they guarantee you will like your gear, or replace it before you ski three times on the new gear. How awesome, right? I did have to change a ski once over the past few years, as it had some issue. They didn't hesitate in taking care of me and standing behind their product. Great company! read more

Poor communication and sloppy workmanship. First off, the communication by the store was horrendous. I purchased a Trek Fuel EX 7 back at the beginning of June online and was told I would receive contact within 2-3 days. I received zero contact, so I sent them an email and waited another day or two without any response. So I stopped by the store and finally got some information and was finally able to pick the bike up over a week after my purchase. Unfortunately, the customer service was just the beginning of my problems. Since receiving the bike I had nothing but issues with the bike. Unfortunately, I'm a novice to the sport, so I didn't know what to check for when I got the bike and slowly discovered all these issues: - The shocks were not properly set to my weight (a weight they specifically ask for to set the psi in the shocks) - The knock block wasn't tight and creaked incredibly loud with any movement - The min and max screws were not set properly and the chain came off the drive train easily - The indexing was not set properly - The drive train, back wheel and derailleur were not tight enough (as a novice, I do not ride hard enough or ride enough for these to come loose within a month...) - The crankset was loose and not tight enough as well Trek recommends a starting PSI for both the rear and front shock specific to the bike on their website. My weight recommends 185psi in the back and 85psi for the fork. The recommended PSI sets your sag about 30% for the rear shocks. The PSI in my back shock was less than 150, and the sag on my rear shock was like 50%!!!!! 50%!!!! That's almost double the recommendation!!! All the things that weren't tight enough were just tight enough that there wasn't wiggle room and you could probably ride on a paved trail without issues, but after riding a mile on a mountain trail they would loosen up and I'd have to tighten with my trail tool. I was able to fix up the min and max screws, and the indexing myself with the help of YouTube, but everything else was out of my bike knowledge. I brought the bike up to Spearfish, SD to do some riding and the drivetrain and crankset were getting worse and worse (having to tighten everything down every few miles), so I took it into the local bike shop and sure enough after tuning it up they said: "whoever put this bike together just slapped it together as quickly as possible." They informed me that a loose crankset could wear away the locking mechanism and the only way to fix it is to replace it. Apparently, the derailleur was also bent, a problem I directly blame on everything being so loose. You should not advertise your bikes as being "out-the-door ready" if you're going to sloppily put together the bikes and hand them off to beginners. Had I not taken it to a bike shop to get checked out, I could have seriously damaged some parts leaving me with $500+ of repair costs on a bike less than 2 months old.... I do not recommend purchasing a bike from this store, if you do, make sure to take it to another shop IMMEDIATELY to get it double checked so you don't end up spending more than you bargained for. read more

As the ski boot team took their patients to fit her, everything all worked out in her favor. He willingly brought out 5 different sets of possible boots. 2 of them worked. Kim brought out an additional 2 different models just to see. Hmmm, turns out Epic had several different boots IN STOCK that fit my foot. I went "down the street" to get credit for my rental boots thinking I could buy a helmet. (Sorry were out of helmets too) Returned to Epic an hour later and found a helmet too. My son needs a full set up for snowboarding. Any guesses where I'll be dropping that $800-1000? read more

Wow, "Sean in ski department" was less than helpful, wasted an hour of my Saturday. Called the store to get info on availability of ski poles in my size, was transferred to Sean in skis. Told my ski pole size and price range. He says "What, you want specific names and model numbers?" I asked what he had within the criteria, which he replied a ton. Drive to the store across town and 1 model in stock, which was quite dull. Might I add there were 6-8 employees who looked bored silly standing around the store. I had Myles fit me for a new pair & he was super knowledgeable, helpful, & even explained to me the differences between boots & what would be best for the issues I were having.
