Had a good experience for our party of 6; however what made it frustrating was that some things that were part of the game were not put up. For example, when we asked for a clue they told us to pay attention to the locker and the papers on the wall. Yet, there were no papers on the wall to even figure it out. At the end, we asked the guy how we would get the answer and he said that there was suppose to be letters with the papers on the wall, and that it wasn't placed prior to the game which led us to waste more time. My first time here and it was a good time! There are a few rooms here so I'll definitely be back. It's street parking unfortunately but I didn't have a problem finding a spot in a Saturday. There was a lot right next door but there are signs saying don't park there. It's on the 2nd floor of the building and it's stairs only. The building was quiet on a Saturday but Epic was pretty busy. The good- my children and nieces and nephews had a great time together and the experience of working together was fun. My daughter said it was the most fun she's had in a long time. The bad- the staff member who helped us was rude (2 other staff members seemed nice, but weren't with our group). He spoke to both adults (in our group and another group) and kids (10-21 yrs old) in an awful tone. He yelled at my niece, while in the escape room, who was laughing because she was having a great time. My kids said he even kept buzzing into their room and saying "stop touching my walls" as they were trying to figure out the riddles. Also, the decor was a little drab. read more

I took my sis here for her 23 rd birthday 2 weeks ago. I can't lie I was nervous and scared like will I escape?! This place is creative and tricky and mysterious and funny and AWESOME. I would recommend it to anyone. They have parking out back. I do not know if they are wheelchair accessible. But anyway I my sis wanted the Killer theme and it's so crazy like nothing you could have thought of. 10/10 experience! I booked Epic Escape Rooms LI for a private party of 18 for my sister's birthday, which included a 2 hour private room rental and 1hr Pazziolis escape room challenge. I was nervous planning and coordinating all the details for such a large group and being out of state but the entire staff, including Cat and Mike, helped me to seamlessly execute an amazing experience for my sister. From the moment we arrived various staff members, namely Harry, checked in multiple times to help us setup and assist with anything we needed to make sure we had a great time. Once we finished eating and celebrating in the private room, we were ushered into the Pazziolis escape room, which actually featured two separate rooms so we split into two teams of 9. Once each team escaped from the first room, we all joined together in a separate back room and had to work together to complete the escape room challenge. It was a ton of fun and the appropriate level of difficulty to accommodate our group which included people who have never participated in an escape room challenge. I love everything about this escape room. It was a last min outing on a weekend and we called to see what's there close time the lady who picked up was very accommodating and help when it came to providing details on how we can book once it was 10:00 pm at night. We booked our tickets online for party of 4 we paid about 130 which is a good deal. When we arrived the lady greeted us with open arms. Very friendly and informative. She's very funny i must add. It wasn't busy at the time which was good and my session with my group was private. We booked the disorderly conduct room which We escaped with 5 mins still left on the clock. The coding to escape out of the room was very tricky and clever but fun to figure out the answers. The clues we were given was very helpful. All employees were all hands on when needed and helpful. The perk of escaping you get to tag the room which was so funnnnnn. They even allow you to take photos. And at the end of the game they take your photos , they have props and you and do cool boomerangs. Will love to visit again soon !!! read more

This place is great! We recently surprised a friend of ours with an escape room, and he loved every minute of it! We did the Italian room where we were spilt into teams. We had a little difficulty, some of us pushed buttons we weren't supposed to and kept getting locked out of the safe hahaha! The puzzles were pretty tricky, but fun to figure out! Sadly a previous team broke some parts to both our rooms and some things needed to be jerrrigged... We also may have cheated a little haha! If something says do not touch, don't go around rules with a loophole lol! We may have completed a few tasks out of order because of things like that. The staff was very friendly and helpful! Yesterday was the second time we visited epic escape LI and we will definitely be back. To start off everyone is super nice and everything is explained perfectly from the beginning. They give you multiple chances to ask questions before starting and let you know all you need to before you start. Basically that's all I can really say without giving away the theme. Our game masters were awesome, I can't remember their names (sorry), we did the 8:30 killer feature 4/16/23. The whole place was clean and decorated appropriately for an escape room. They had a wide range of signs to use for your picture at the end. We have done many many escape rooms on Long Island and off and we love this place. Both for it's challenging rooms and polite staff. Parking and the steps going up are not my fave, but the experience outweighs all of that. The room we chose this time was super challenging but we did manage to escape due to our amazing group and the helpful clues. We will 100% be back for the rooms we haven't tried yet. read more

Played the room that starts with you being cuffed and blindfolded. I was the leader of the group (The only one not blindfolded looking for clues to unlock all our cuffs). The cuffs have a safety button to remove them for emergency purposes (so don't worry about emergencies). Very important to ask for clues, which they display on a television screen in your room. The one thing annoying, was when we asked for a clue, they were telling us the clue to something we had already solved, so it was misleading us in thinking we solved it the wrong way (which was not the case). All this led to some wasteful minutes. They made it up to us, at the end of the hour, they saw we were on the final clue to solving the game, and they gave us an extra 5 minutes to finish the game as winners. Overall, we had a fantastic time. It got the family working together and we couldn't of won without teamwork. We all had a blast, AND WE WON!!!. It wasn't an easy game. My wife and I decided to do two escape rooms at Epic Escape, Disorderly Conduct and Killer Feature. I will say, this team seems to cater to more of a younger crowd and it does come off as somewhat of a younger, inexperienced group in comparison to some we have visited. However, they did make the most of the unique game spaces and do things some other companies may shy away from due to liability concerns. This is especially true as it relates to Killer Feature. Blindfolding guests at the beginning of the game and then walking into the room and physically touching you to add to the horror theme. The room we did was fun and we were able to escape with 17 minutes left. We did get to peek into another room and it looked like a good room as well. I was looking for a memorable place to propose to my boyfriend of 10 years. It needed to be on Valentine's Day. And of course, I wanted to be excited rather than stressed about it. In the New York area, that's a tall order. I had planned on hunting for different venues, and EPIC ESCAPES was the first one on my list to check out because of the positive reviews I found online.  The minute I walked into EPIC, Cat Dunn (owner) welcomed me warmly and instantly made me feel like she was a close friend who was excited about planning the whole event with me. After 30 minutes of speaking with her (really only after 5 of those 30 minutes) I was sold. I knew she was the person I wanted to trust with my big day. She took it on like it was HER big day, and she wanted everything to go right.  Our family and friends flew in from around the country, she instantly handled ALL personality types with Grace and fun, even the difficult members of our group, and kept the vibe light and stress-free.  They all participated in the escape room while I hid in the party room that she has available for groups. Everyone had a BLAST in the escape room, and came out to me with my bouquet, ready to drop on one knee for my boyfriend when he walked out. (He said yes, btw) The rest of the evening Cat continued to serve us and make sure everyone had an amazing time. So grateful. She helped make the evening perfect! I cannot recommend this business highly enough. If you are looking for fun and security knowing you are in good hands (tough to find in the New York area) then please consider EPIC ESCAPES and make sure to ask for Cat. I've been to a handful of various escape rooms and this one was ok. My friends and I did the forest theme and it was pretty decent and challenging. Since I've done many rooms before, I have come to enjoy when there is more of a surprise factor with additional rooms where you can roam around. The forest room was only a small square room which kinda had a lack luster effect. The staff was extremely friendly and helped us with the great clues. I just do not understand these stellar reviews. AT ALL. Unless this is the first escape room that anyone leaving a review has ever done, then perhaps I blacked out during BOTH 60-minute escape rooms I had experienced here. Upon arrival, you'll be offered to "LIKE" them on Facebook for an additional 2 clues, which would equate to 5 clues in total. I don't know about you, but escaping a room using ZERO clues is the ultimate goal of any team, no? When we stated that we didn't intend on using any, the employee warned us (not verbatim): "I can tell you that there's never been a group to escape our rooms without using clues". That alone says it all - these rooms are SUPER challenging, but for the wrong reason. Their "puzzles" are really just a person's ability to fumble around with locks by using cluttered "clues" everywhere. It's nonsensical, to say the least. Off the top of my head, using adjectives to describe both rooms - Disorderly Conduct and Killer Feature - are as follows: chaotic, perplexing, unclear, unrewarding, frustrating, etc. The props are so worn. Many "mechanical" items, including the time clock, struggle to work correctly. The clue masters had to enter the rooms on both occasions to see why something was malfunctioning or missing. As a veteran to escape rooms (like 85+), this place ranks in my bottom 3 at best. I know, I know --- "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all", but truthfully, I was deceived by these 4 and 5-star reviews and needed to state otherwise. I even gave this place a second chance thinking perhaps Disorderly Conduct was just a room that didn't suit me well. Incorrect. Even their horror-themed room, which is my favourite type, was a letdown. I should have just spent the $28 and change on booze, as that would have been more gratifying. read more

Came in today and was helped right away by a gentleman behind the counter. Was very helpful. Worked with us to get into the room we wanted to play. Us: Seasoned escape room players. Just the two of us generally solves rooms of 8 or more on our own. We have around an 80 percent solve rate. Not into horror escapes. The room: Disorderly Conduct. Spoiler Free Review: At Times, this room was one of the more fun rooms we had experienced. The first task to solve was a different type of puzzle that we are normally used to. Was very good. The camera and WiFi went down midway through the game, which was kinda sad. It meant that in order to get the clues needed, the cluemaster needed to come in and give us the clues. That was a bit of a letdown. Most of the puzzles were accessible and fun. There was only one puzzle that was really hard to grasp. Outside knowledge is definitely needed in more than one spot on this puzzle. Solved with 12 minutes to spare. A fun time. May come back again and check out other rooms. My brother & I found this place on Groupon. I enjoyed my time here at Epic Escape Rooms, the staff was very friendly and inviting. They clearly stated the rules and did a great job at explaining every detail. It was bit hard to find because we went at night and didn't see their sign on the outside of the building at first. They are located on the second floor, this place is a bit smaller than another escape room I've been to but they are expanding their sq footage. My brother and I had a blast trying to figure out their room. I would recommend this place and would definitely return! At the end of your game they do ask if you would like to take a photo and it gets posted on their Instagram page, we haven't seen our photo yet and we went on 11/4. This was a weird one. On the plus side, the people working there are very nice. A huge plus that they let us start late since we had major issues with our dinner plans before getting to Epic. Regarding the actual escape room though, it was just ok. We did Disorderly Conduct. Initially there was a problem with one of the locks which set us back a few minutes but so be it, not an issue. The bigger aspect was just that only half of the materials were necessary in the room. There were more red herring than actual clues. We finished with seven or so minutes left, and were kind of confused about what had happened. It felt like there was so much more to do. Plenty of lockers remained locked. Plenty of documents remains completely irrelevant. It just felt completely unfulfilling. I wonder if we would have liked it more if this wasn't the case but either way, while we had fun, there was something lacking at the end. I would come back, but it wouldn't be the top of my list. Still, I wouldn't discourage anyone from going here; it's still solid. read more

Probably the best escape room I have ever done. Needless to say they definitely hooked me as a long time customer and I will be back to try the rest of their amazing rooms. First of all booking was super easy and luckily we were able to have the room to ourselves. The staff was super friendly, helpful, and quite frankly, hilarious. We did "killer feature" with has a 35% escape rate. The tricks and obstacles were very well though out and more high tech than most. The decor and sound and light effects were amazing it was the most realistic escape rooms I've ever done and I've done about 20 escape rooms at at least 10 different places before this one. I came here with my girlfriend earlier today, and had a truly good experience here. There were some cool quirks and tricks in the Room, and plenty of room for the mind to wander. The escape is simple, you can ask for up to 3 hints, and are given clues along the way. You have to use them wisely or you'll run out. There are several repetitive things to remember, and working together is integral to figuring out how to escape. There were things that drove me nuts, like looking all over the place for 10 minutes until I used one of my clues and felt like an idiot. Then there were ways we bypassed obstacles, and that was great. This is a family run business, and is great because of how boutique the idea for the room and escape are. Make no mistake, this is not a big maze or labyrinth the size of Dave and Buster's, it's a SAW movie styled room you have to escape out of, but nothing that will make you panic or grossed out. Cat and her brother were amazing hosts and really took their time out to make sure we had fun. I'm definitely coming back for their Prison Break room when that opens up. This place is really fun, and such a great value for the price; I suggest small groups of friends and families all go together for the best experience--you won't be disappointed! read more

This was our second time here, first time trying the killer feature room. Mind you, you will be handcuffed and blindfolded for a good 5-10 mins. Overall it was a great experience as you can already tell. Our first trip here was perfect in the disorderly conduct, and we won with 45 seconds to spare. On this trip, we were a group of 6, and we won with about 14 mins to spare. Rooms are creative, well thought out, and challenging enough to keep you interested as well as constantly using team work and brain power to solve the puzzles. The staff were excellent.
