I asked for a quote and that was the price i was given. I took my car to the Platinum Dealership in terrell afterwards to see if their pricing was better or worth it more. They kept my car for 2 days looking for the real problem. They told me my converter was perfectly fine and the hanger was broken (a very small fix) and even sent me a video to show me the real problem. Something that simply needed to be welded was going to cost me $1100.00 had i not got a second opinion. Please do not take this shops word. Dave was unable to pin down the exact cause of the problem. Not only did he tell me he couldn't pin the problem down, but he did not charge me for the diagnostic time (which was not trivial). After some serious analysis on my part, I believe the problem originated with some detailing work I had done four days before. My point is this: Dave could have easily sold me a battery, an alternator, or both and he didn't. Honesty is nice when you run across it!!!
