When I arrived the waitress took a while to come to my table, even though there were only 3 other couples at the restaurant. The a la carte menu is extremely overpriced (R$ 18 for a set of 5 sashimis), which makes you order the all-you-can-eat menu for R$ 75 per person (prices as of May/16).
Their all-you-can-eat menu states that they will charge you R$ 2 for each piece you don't eat (which is against the law in Brazil, by the way). Not knowing the size of the sashimis, I've started off ordering 15 of them and a set of 8 uramakis. That's the most basic order that you can get in a japanese restaurant anywhere in Brazil. Still, the order took about 45 minutes despite the fact that there were no other orders and the sushimen were just chatting the whole time (at this point I was starting to worry that the fish wasn't going to be raw). The sashimis were ok, regular-sized. The rice on the uramakis was a bit dry.
On the second turn I've ordered another set of 10 sashimis and, to my surprise, they were less than half the size and the thickness of the first round. I had to get 3 of them at once to end up with one "regular-sized" sashimi. That seems to be a common practice as I saw that on other tables as well. After that, the waiter just wouldn't show up at my table at all. About 15 minutes later I was able to ask for the check.
Note: Gratuity can only be paid in cash.
Unfortunately this is "the brazilian way", and my rating has to be based on the overall experience, which was not pleasant at all. read more
