The sushi was very fresh according to my husband. At first, we had our doubts about how good the sushi could be in Brazil since it's not Asia. But after trying it, we wanted to go back! I had the pork bun and mushrooms and they were delicious! The service was good too. Our server was very patient with us using Google Translate since we don't speak Portuguese. The place was also very nice and trendy. Even the bathroom was fancy. They had a Japanese TOTO toilet!

After ordering several times encouraged by chefsclub, the quality of the food and great presentation never ceases to amaze me. A new branch in a franchise system opened recently in Leblon, at Rua Conde Bernadotte, 26. The restaurant is a bit hidden, but once you find it at the very end of the gallery, you will notice it is small, but trendy. They have served a Uramaki passion fruit as courtesy and the food was absolutely delicious. Sophisticated as high end sushi places and delicious and not obnoxious. I highly recommend salmon tartar. Either the traditional or the light that comes surrounded by cucumber. Absolutely spot on. The strawberry and chocolate harumaki was also served with a complimentary ice cream. Staff was very friendly and restaurant was busy even though it has been inaugurated recently. A very good indication of great success in a venue marked by many attempts of businesses that would not manage to take of. Don't forget to try the Philadelphia special, that comes surrounded with herring roe (massago). Delicious.

The sashimi was one piece cut in the 4 thin slices - very tasty but very small. The nigri came cooked to my surprise. when I asked the owner, she said it is not fresh so we need to sear it for safety. I was not impressed to be told this. moreover, the rice had a bite and inedible. when the bill came, this was the biggest shock. She charged me the equivalent of £25 for ONE piece of scallop sashimi on the basis that it came from Canada. She did not warn me of the price when I ordered and further dos lot share that the nigiri scallops would be defrosted. why can Sushi Leblon down the road served 100 times fresher and better sushi and sashimi for a fraction of the price? My advice is DON'T go to Azumi unless you want inferior food for exorbitant prices. The owner is very dishonerable. I paid, left and will never return.

The place is not that big, I would recommend you to eat directly at the bar table with the sushiman preparing your meal. I would recommend also to order just sashimi & niguiri, the rolls were not that good. The service was not so good, they only speak Portuguese so it was quite difficult to understand them. Anyway, you must come if you are visiting Rio!

It was tough and not fresh. The pork belly bao was not even pork belly and instead was shredded dry pork with a chewy bao bun. The fried chicken appetizer was not good either. Every single thing we ate was bad! On top of that, the prices are very expensive! The only grace I can give this place is that the restaurant is cute and nicely designed.

First off, this is the freshest fish we've had in Rio in the last 20 years. For me, this is the single biggest factor in a sushi spot. Also, the menu is ample - loads of hit and cool Japanese foods. We started with Hana Nira - garlic sprouts. Warm with lovely teriyaki-type sauce. Then, we had grilled octopus. It was really good...perhaps a bit chewy. Our main course was a Combinagi platter of sushi, sashimi, and rolls. Five types of fish were on this combo platter. Everything was tasty and terrific. Little to no wasabi on the sushi so you might request more wasabi if you really want that heat. For dessert, we had the creme brulee crepe with apples and ice cream. Amazing. The golden-buttery sauce was off the charts delicious.
