My favorite Japanese restaurant in Rio. Fresh sashimi and sushi, lunch option is a great deal and friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone.

They were done with reservations so we had to walk in and from the time we did the host / manager…read morewas so nice . we had such a great experience. the entire staff was very nice and too can tell they work well together but special shout out to our walter Fernando - anytime he said i picked a great dish he was right! very trustworthy! food was fresh and high quality and it came out timely. small quaint place but felt very comfortable and enjoyed every minute of my time there. 10/10 recommend. Our faves were the Jim Bean Mango, Lychee with Basil, the Kobe Tataki, and the Uramaki Ebitem Special - if i'm ever back i would go again and would hope to see Fernando again!

The decor is fairly chic (though the center tables are pretty boring). The place looks really cool…read moreand appears to have an authentic dry aging fridge for the fish (which first made me think this place would offer high quality and authentic food). They were sold out of absolutely everything (that you'd want to order anyway) when we came. None of the good cuts of fatty tuna, no toro, no churro, no sea urchin, etc. All of our first choices from the menu were unavailable, which they only let us know while we were ordering. They didn't even have wasabi (which they charge you for anyway), how on Earth does a Sushi restaurant run out of wasabi???How can they properly make any sushi without a key ingredient? From what they did have: the salmon belly, tamago, and scallop were just OK. The Kobe dumplings were not good at all, tasted like cheap meat. No way they're actually made with Kobe beef. Cocktails were decent though, and a bit boozy. Prices were OK for the neighborhood. Might've been 2/5 but I'm guessing I caught them on a bad day, and I'm inclined towards generosity.
