At first we thought it was sketchy because the place was around car dealerships, not enough reviews and everything has to be done online (cause they cannot be reached on phone) needless to say, my husband and I decided to go to their location because it was already sketchy that we have to do everything online, and scared that we will not have a car delivered. It took us a while to find the place, cause there were no signs at all. We asked a guy that works at the dealership next to Volvo, and found out that we have to go inside the office. When we got there, I finally realized why everything has to be done online. They don't have an office, and I am guessing they are affiliated with Volvo, though they carry other car brands too. After a while a representative came very friendly guy, very informative and gave us everything that we need to know. There's no extra charge even if you're below 25, no charge for additional driver, and you can pay in cash. Though you have to provide necessary informations, of course. Just a tip for people that wants to rent a car, do it online. It is less hassle for you, and envy staff. Like I said, they might not have an actual office, they are located inside the Volvo dealership, but there are small somewhat office looking rooms for Envy. PS, don't hesitate renting at this place. To be honest, I was very skeptical about renting from Envy at first due to the lack of reviews, however, I couldn't be any more happy with my experience! I was originally going to pay over $100 a day for a small car from Hertz due to the fees for being under 25. Upon research, I came across Envy's website and asked their customer service chat if there would be an underage fee. None!! Just a $300 deposit that will be refunded when you return the car. I ended up paying a fraction of what I would have paid Hertz!! When you rent for 2 or more days, it comes with free drop off and pick up. We were scheduled for 8am drop off and 8pm pick up the next day. Sean (?) was at our hotel on time and very thorough with the inspection. On the day of pick up, they informed me they were unable to pick up the car on time so we could drop off the car to valet on their expense. I've rented with a big name rental agency on one of our prior trips to Oahu and had a lot of problems. So for our recent trip in mid-May, I started to look at reviews online to see if I could find a better option. I noticed that reviews for Envy Rent were always high and everyone had good things to say about them. But never hearing about them before, I was a bit skeptical. I spent a few days searching for more reviews on different sites, specifically looking for negative reviews but almost everything I found was glowing reviews. So I started doing other searches like looking them up in Google Maps street view (yes, they are located in a Volvo dealership) and then started using their online chat tool to get more information. Since I only needed a car for one day, I figured I'd give them a shot and booked a car for one day. While you can rent newer and fancier cars, we only needed a basic car and I grabbed the cheapest one online (figuring if it didn't work out, it wouldn't be too much of a loss). It came out to $49 US for one day, pick up at 8am and drop off at 8pm at their location. If you book for two or more days, they can drop the car off at your hotel for free. The online booking was pretty simple... just choose your dates and vehicle and then add any additional coverage. When I rented with the big name rental agency before, I had some issues so I made sure to add the extra insurance on this rental. It came to just under $100 US for the day (still cheaper than what I paid a few years ago at the big name rental agency). They ask for pictures of your ID during the online booking (which I uploaded to make the process go through smoother). Getting to the Volvo dealership was an easy 30 minute trip from our hotel (it's located on Ala Moana Blvd which is a major street). The guy that worked there was friendly and explained that the owner of the dealership realized that he could make money by renting out cars that weren't selling. He took us to the car to inspect any existing damage on the car. The car was a bit of a beater, which he admitted, but that's all that we needed it for. It was clean on the inside and got us to where we were going to. No long lineup or countless forms to fill out or bait-and-switch... I got exactly what I had ordered. We were a bit concerned that we wouldn't get back by 8pm because of Hawaii traffic. He said not to worry... we could just park the car in the service lot and lock the keys in the car - they have cameras there so they don't worry about it. As it turned out, we got back just before 8pm (we filled up the gas before we returned it) and handed the keys to him. He did a quick check of the car and we were on our way. Honestly, it couldn't have been any easier. A 5-Star Experience!! The BEST Rental Car Company out there yet! The Overall Experience: An amazing rental car experience that made the trip that much more enjoyable. I found Envy rental by luck while looking around on Yelp. Wanting to ensure that our trip to Hawaii would be perfect, I was hesitant at first, the easy process and low prices seemed too good to be true.. The first question I asked with the chat box was the ability to cancel the reservation, and if there were any hidden fees I wouldn't know until I picked up the vehicle. After months of waiting for our trip, I followed the instructions sent via email and picked our Beautiful Red Volvo C70 Convertible. It was exactly as described in the photos, from the color, to the options, even the rims. Finding some damage on the vehicle, we emailed the support team with photos with damage over 2-inches and marked the sheet of paper with any additional dings or dents then we were off. The return process was just as easy, we parked the car at the same spot we found it when we picked it up, locked the car and left the keys under the tire with the signed agreement, emailed the support team that we left the car and that was it! I KNOW, it seems too easy to be true.... it really makes you second guess why Alamo, or Hertz is charging 4 times the rate for a worse car, and makes you spend hours in lines, filing out paperwork, only to tell you the car you reserved is nothing like what you will receive... The Process: When picking up the vehicle, Envy states that the car will be located on the top level of the parking structure, with the rental agreement, damage form, parking ticket to leave the garage, and the keys under the tire. Once you unlock the car you fill out the paperwork with any damage that you see that is not already marked, (they marked most of the damage that were very minor so BIG THANKS for the Honestly Envy!) You sign the form, shove it in the glovebox then your on your way. When paying for the parking, Envy will reimburse you by submitting an emailed photo of the receipt when leaving the garage. The Car: We rented a 2013 Volvo C70 in Red and it was exactly as described! It was beautiful with 18in black wheels, tinted windows, and far more luxurious than any other generic base mustang or camaro convertible you see flooding the island. The car was a 2013, it has around 23k miles on it and was exactly as described in the photos. The car had a bit of sand on the inside, but granted sand is almost impossible to clean out completely. The vehicle did have some scratches and dents around the car, like every rental car, some of the damage was not marked, so we marked it on the sheet and sent photos of the larger scratches not already marked by envy, in which we received a reply thanking us for making note of any signs of damage. The car was perfect in every other way, it ran beautifully, it drove extremely well and I couldn't help but feel dumbfounded that I was able to rent a $50,000 Luxury Volvo Convertible for a quarter of the price as a Base Mustang Convertible with cloth seats... In Conclusion: Thank you Envy for an amazing rental! Our family members were furious they didn't rent with you! For the same price as us, they got a base corolla, with tons of scratches, and a wait of an hour, plus the hassle of having to take an offsite shuttle... Envy we will be back soon, and we are excited to see what cars we will rent next! And every party that will be traveling with us will be renting with Envy!!! read more

Awesome company. Great staff, great service, great inventory, and great prices. I wish they had a location everywhere I travel. I rented 3 different cars, four different times, in the span of a month. Each time they were dropped off and picked up exactly on time (thanks Sean!), and the staff did a great job communicating with me, and making sure I was happy. For comparison- I tried Turo before Envy, with a less satisfactory experience. After 4 reservation attempts with Turo (3 different car owners didn't want to drop off the car 10 miles from Honolulu despite indicating they would in the description), I was finally able to rent a Tesla. While I enjoyed the car, the car owner was difficult to work with, was uneasy about handing over the keys to his 2 month old personal car, and ended up picking up the car 12 hours early to my inconvenience. I was drawn to Turo's wide selection, but Envy has an equally expansive inventory, but at better prices, and without the hassle of going through private owners. Five star review is an understatement with Envy. We stayed at Four Seasons Oahu Ko Olina (30mins drive from the HNL airport) and booked a rental through Veronika via online. During chat, I bombarded with questions and she thoroughly explained the whole rental procedure. Two gentlemen from the company came by the hotel on Tuesday to drop off the car. Did a standard inspection walk thru, explained to me about the car (didn't needed as I had a Porsche before), signed the paperwork and the whole process took about five minutes. There aren't a lot of rental centers in Honolulu and it took some research to rent out a two door convertible. The trip with the rental from Envy was awesome; immensely enjoyed the island scenery, the beaches, and driving around in and out of the town with the Boxter. Especially Four Seasons so far away from Waikiki, renting out a car was so necessary. Envy made this so easy and convenient for me. Even extended us two extra hours so that I can meet with a client at the airport (11am drop off time but lenient grace period until 2pm). Friday as we are boarded on the plane to go back home, I am so thrilled that Envy made this trip more enjoyable than ever. Other rental companies don't even come close in Hawaii! We just came back from Waikiki. We were told that you didn't need a car plus parking is expensive. We decided to get a car for one day. I checked Expedia and Costco for a good deal. The best deal I found was a midsize car for under $100. Plus we had to pay for transportation to the airport to pick it up. There was 6 in our group so we couldn't even fit. I found ENVY during my online search and was a little skeptical. They had a Honda Odyssey for $79. We read the reviews and decided to try it out. They delivered the van to our hotel and picked it up. ENVY provided great customer service!! The driver that drove the van to us was super friendly and gave us advice on where to park for free. They even sent emails on the day we were going to return the van to see if we wanted it another day at a discounted price! We ended up with the van for 3 days. We wanted it for a 4th day but it had been rented. ENVY gave us another vehicle option to fit our group. They dropped it off when they picked up the van. We were really happy with the prices, customer service, and the delivery and pick up options! We saved more money renting with ENVY than paying for tours with transportation!! To begin with, another car rental place across the street, Enterprise, totally screwed us over and the car we ordered was not available due to a computer glitch. They had no cars. While we were figuring out what to do because we were stranded, I found Envy right across the street on Yelp. We rented a Jeep Cherokee Laredo. Their prices were cheaper than Enterprise. We saved over $50 renting from Envy instead. Their employees were very friendly and helpful. Everyone gave us advice of where to eat and what to do during our travels. They provided us with a clean car. They were thorough, thoughtful, professional, and very nice. If I were going to Oahu again, I would skip the other rental places and go here. This is my first review and I felt I needed to write one since there aren't a lot about the company. I have rented from Enterprise, Alamo/Dollar rentals in Waikiki and couldn't stand how expensive it became. So I browsed for other rental companies and Envy Rent came up. It is a fairly new company so there are a small amount of reviews. I checked their Facebook, Yelp, their website and tried to find information on Tripadvisor which there was none. I gave it a go online and immediately was greeted by a chat person online. I booked anyway and wasn't comfortable paying online so they have an option to pay when you get there. You would pay the price that you agreed to online. They answered promptly through email and were flexible to see my license in person. We had set a time to get the car at 8 am but was running late so I gave them a call before 8 am not realizing they open at 8 am. They texted right away asking if we needed help. It was great! They were understanding. Getting there is really easy. We thought it was in the Volvo dealership but it is attached to the back of it. There is no formal office for Envy so don't expect it to be like Enterprise. It's a small office in the lot and we were greeted by two people. The process was extremely easy and thorough. The employee went to inspect the car, it seemed like he was marking a lot of damage areas but we thought the car was in good shape. The car we rented was the Volvo c70. The employee mentioned that if we returned it later than 8pm to drop it off to the other side of the Volvo dealership and drop the keys in the maibox. We ended up dropping it close to 9 :P. We rented for 4 days and couldn't have been happier with the rental! Totally recommend if you are on a budget! read more

WOW! Don't let the flashy girl in front of the car picture detour you! This is bar none the BEST most honest car rental company we have ever used! The customer service was AMAZING! I am not an easy person to deal with at times and these people were able to make even me happy! I cannot write enough great things about this rental car company. At the last minute my family decided to rent a car during our visit on Oahu. We ultimately ended up choosing Envy. We reserved online and I couldn't believe it was as easy as that so I called and yup they brought a car to our hotel for us. They called us when they got to the hotel. My husband went down signed the papers looked over the car and was finished with keys in hand in less than 5 minutes. Well my very tall family jumped in that beautiful convertible that was actually priced lower than any other major car rental places on the island and off we went. Needless to say that super cute convertible car was way too small for us. My son is 6'5 and daughter is 6'0 feet so I ended up in the back and it was terrible. So I called Envy and explained what happened and how miserable we were in that size of a car and we upgraded to a "family size" much larger car. The upgrade was truly not very much. I said I would drop the car off at their place since we were running late for a memorial service. Well I got so lost trying to find their building couldn't find it and I was upset as we were dealing with the death of a family member (the reason for our trip) and I was crying and the Envy representative said park and tell me where you are and I will come find you and bring you the car. Well within ten minutes I was driving away with the new rental and they were apologizing to me! Businesses just don't do that these days! Anyways the second car was just as clean and amazing as the first but way more comfortable. We were in a new Jeep Cherokee. The best part was dropping off the car! We drove it to the airport and parked it ourselves in the lot that they texted us and told us where to park and we just had to text a picture of where we parked it and they took care of the parking fee. No shuttle! No lines! No waiting for the car company! And here is the best part- we noticed a large scratch on the side and wasn't sure if it happened while we had the car. When I called Envy they could have easily said yes it was from us but they were honest and said oh no that was from someone else prior to our rental. Wow! A truly honest, helpful, human car rental company. The only issue with Envy is that they do not have other offices on other islands!!! Seriously Hertz, Budget, and Enterprise could learn a thing or two from Envy Car Rental! read more

The amount of critical components that went wrong is literally too long to list as no one would probably believe it, but I really, really, wish I could rate this company worse than one star. This company knows exactly all the things they did wrong and owned up to none of them, and not even stood by their multiple different claims to make it right. I had a rental booked in February. The morning I needed the car, I woke up to an email saying that the car I rented was in an accident the night before and they didn't have any other rentals. Hey, I get that. Accidents happen, right? When I asked for pictures of the vehicle accident or a police report, guess what? NO RESPONSE. Renting our car through Envy was literally the easiest part of our vacation. We went to Honolulu for the Hawaii Bowl, so our plans were pretty much last minute. Finding a place to stay on Waikiki Beach that was beachfront was a nightmare. Every place we checked had no available rentals. I even looked at the reputable rent by owner sites. It took about 6 days of literally staying up until 3 to 5 in the mornings, before we found what looked to be the last two bedroom condo on the beach. Only one of the major car rental companies had a car left that could seat 6. It started out a little over $700 for the week, and by the time all fees were added, it jumped to over $1,700. I was so frustrated after the tiresome ordeal of finding a place to stay, getting airplane tickets, trying to get a rental car, etc., that I may have cancelled our trip, if I could have gotten a refund on our six plane tickets. Then my son found Envy... When I visited their page, they did not show a car that seated 6. The chat screen popped up, and within three minutes of telling Nika what I was looking for, she had a Volvo that seated six. Besides comfortably seating the six of us, it was also able to handle our six suitcases, and six backpacks all for about $550 for the week. The $550 was the total price. We did not have to pay extra for additional drivers, taking the car outside of Honolulu, etc. There was no clean up fee, and the car insurance was $15 a day. Envy delivered the car to the airport and picked it up at the airport for no additional fee. They also reimbursed us the parking fee from the airport. When I said getting this part of our vacation needs taken care of was the easiest part of our trip, it really was. I found out that Envy can get you almost ANY type of vehicle you desire. Nika was wonderful to work with, patient, and took care of our every need. The man who was in the parking place next to us at our condo commented that our car was a really nice and sharp looking car. We told him where we had gotten it, and told him to make sure he took advantage of the chat, because their page did not show all available vehicles. We told him Envy had almost any type of vehicle anyone would need or want. We ran into him a few days later. He said he had looked at their site, and he would be renting from them next year when he came back to Honolulu. (He goes to Hawaii every Christmas.) Save yourself some time, effort, and money and rent through Envy. You will NOT regret doing so. If I could give Envy 10 stars or more, I would. read more

Rented from them after I saw the stellar reviews from yelp and we wanted to support local businesses. They did not disappoint. The prices of their rental cars are so competitive and you know exactly what you're going to get. The online chat option was also convenient if you need to ask questions. They replied promptly and they were very easy to work with. We picked up the car in the airport which is more efficient than waiting for a shuttle or in line to get your rental car. The car was clean and all the paperwork is already filled out. You just need to send them a copy of your drivers license and insurance before hand. We had no problems with the car at all. We returned the car in the same parking lot we picked it up from. The only downfall was the parking lot entrance was closed from departure area due to construction and no signs that say that the entrance is open in the arrivals area. We ended up circling around 3 times and worried we might miss check in (this is of no fault of envy but good to take note in case the same thing happens to you) also make sure you enter the all rental parking and not the hawaiian airlines parking. They were very understanding that we were lagging behind the 9 pm drop off because of the parking situation.
