Unfortunately, this is the worst manicure I've ever gotten. Dirty tools, dirty salon, completely uneven and reckless filing of nails and pushing of cuticles. Cut 4 times. Wiped off so much color when trying to "clean up" the edges. Uneven application. Didn't even shake the bottle of nail polish. It's been about a week and my polish is already coming off. Truly the worst nail painting job I have ever seen. Uneven filing. Had to remove polish and repaint one nail twice and then was only going to finish that nail with one coat. So I had to request the second coat to match my other nails. I'm not sure the stylist has ever painted nails before. This was a complete waste of money. Unprofessional staff. Looks like many people have had a bad time here. My mother-in-law and I popped in on a Sunday morning and there was barely anyone in there so they got to us immediately. The woman who did my mother-in-law's pedicure had her laughing the whole time, and my manicurist was really pleasant as well. Honestly this is the best manicure I've had in a while, and as far as the price goes, maybe things are more expensive where I live in New Orleans but I found this perfectly reasonable. unclean and honestly painful. i came in for a pedicure, was hardly acknowledged. i have cuts on my toes from the lady trying to clean up my nail beds i guess? she took off way more than just dead skin. when she was done, she just stood up, walked off, and sat at a manicure table on her phone. she didn't say "thank you" or anything at all. i was also charged for 'hot towel treatment' ... i suppose the treatment they were referring to was when she got a hot towel and swiped it down each leg once... literally half a second. oh and the actual paint job of the pedicure is terrible. so in conclusion : $45 for half painted nails, painful cuts on my toes, and rude service. read more

My appointment was at 11 and I was barely acknowledged when I walked in and did not get a chair until 11:30. The pedicure was good but the color turned out awful! Then came the manicure which fine. Got nicked a few times with no apology but oh well. At the end as I walked to my car I realized it was very streaky and you could pretty much see through to my nails, so I built up the courage to go back in and ask if they could fix it (which I never do, but after spending $100 for a mani/pedi for a vacation and not being happy with either I figured I'd suck it up and go back). Big mistake. I was embarrassingly told no that she couldn't fix it because "you said it look good already". the other employee came by to check my nails out and said "oh yeah they look good no need to fix". Never mind that I didn't like them and after getting many opinions after leaving they DEFINITELY needed fixing. Everyone stood in silence starring for a minute before I embarrassingly walked out of the place without fixed nails or a sorry. After having my fingernails filed into triangles, my skin painted and my ankle cut with the mr pumice by Kim, I had finally had enough and asked they stop so I could just go home. A younger girl insisted on fixing my hands and feet and then got angry when I told her I don't like my cuticles painted and my nails filed into points like they were. She told me it was my fault and I should have told them what I wanted. Who knew you had to specify such things? But once I did tell them, I was embarrassed by the young girl in front of everyone there. And was talked about in Vietnamese, I guess? I was very disappointed with this place. It was in a nice area and busy, looked clean and they seemed nice enough. I came in with bare nails wanting a shellac manicure. I've had many shellac manicures over the last few years. This was my first one in the greater Birmingham area. Overall I'm shocked at the prices at all nail salons here. I called my nail salon back home to verify, sure enough $25 for shellac manicures there ($14 for basic manicures). Envy Nails, $39 for a simple shellac manicure!!!! What???!! It didn't even occur to me to ask before I sat down. (No prices displayed here) Who'd have ever thought it would be that much? Not me. I cannot for the life of me understand why it needs to cost this much. (Simply put....it doesn't). Sure the lamps are expensive. $150 or so. And they go on sale at the supply house often. But when you do gel polish all day everyday it pays for itself pretty fast. And the shellac polishes don't cost much more than regular. And if you bring your own gel polish, they still charge the same price. I thought the girl who did my manicure was nice enough. But the next day upon further inspection 3 of my nails didn't even have the polish all the way to the tip of my nail. I had to trim them a quarter inch shorter to remove the unpainted nail. I won't be going back here. And will continue my search for an affordable nail salon. It almost seems like this place assumes because it's in Mountain Brook they can charge whatever they want and people will pay it. And judging by how many people were in there, seems about right. Updated, after 7 days of this manicure the polish is lifting and peeling off 4 nails. A $39 manicure that is touted to last 2-3 weeks and it's lasted one. read more

First and last time ever coming. Staff was extremely rude racist and service was awful. I went to get a pedicure and was told to sit in one of the chairs. I was left waiting for about an hour and they didn't even bother to turn the water on at least. I got up out of my chair and they sat 3 caucasian women down and turnt their water on immediately. 2 of my friends were getting a full set and got very bad cuts from filing and after repeatedly telling them to reshape them they still left them in an undesired shape. My friend treated me and my daughter to a manicure-pedicure. Thus, I do not know the exact cost, but it seems expensive. I felt the Vietnamese staff were very professional as well as kind. I just moved to town and this is the first nail salon I've tried. I won't be going back. I paid $65 (including tip) for a powder manicure. 3 days later, one nail completely came off. I was out of town when it happened, so as soon as I got back I went in to have it fixed. They acted annoyed but fixed my one nail. The very next day, every single one of my nails either came completely off or cracked. I didn't even go back to ask it to be fixed I was so angry. My powder manicure didn't even last a full week. Usually they last 3-4 weeks and the polish is so hard it hurts to pop off. These cracked and came off with ease. I didn't even notice right away when it happened. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Got an SNS manicure ($55), and the next day there were cracks in every single nail. By day 9, chips were coming off and they began to separate from my nail at the cuticle. Usually an SNS manicure lasts me 4-6 weeks without a glitch. I was in a time crunch on a Saturday and this place was the only place that could accommodate me last minute. I called before hand to get my name put on the list, and the lady told me it'd be 15 minutes max. I arrived within that 15 minute time frame, and sat there for an hour before someone started my manicure. Was never offered in water or anything while I waited. Needless to say, my name was never added to the list. Not to mention, the health score of this place is 85! I honestly have no idea how they are still in business. My two elementary school children saved money to get their babysitter a gift certicate for Mother's day. We got her a manicure and spa pedicure certificate from the owner and paid $48 for it. When she went to redeem the certificate the day before her daughter's wedding, she showed the certificate and services were provided. I don't even want to give ONE star. I wish I had read the reviews before I went there. Not only is it outrageously expensive $55 for S&S, but the employees were rude. They didn't use a new set of sterilized tools either. She just sprayed the ones she had and wiped them off. Only "special" people of a certain class was offered a beverage or piece of candy. I was pinched extremely hard while she tried to remove dried polish off my skin with cuticle trimmers. Glad it didn't break the skin, there's no telling what kind of infection I would've gotten. I will NOT EVER go back, and DO NOT recommend this place. I'm considering calling the health department. And don't expect a "thank you", "come back soon", or "kiss my butt" because they just hand you the nail colors... they don't even say "pick yo color". Just rude! And it's just messy in there. I have come here a lot since they opened, but I'm afraid that will come to a stop after today. The last few times haven't been as pleasant as my early visits. My polish wasn't applied professionally, I felt like they rushed the process, etc. but today was the worst experience so far. When doing my pedicure, they cut my foam toe separator in half so it only covered my last three toes instead of using an entire toe separator on each foot. Seriously - is this saving their business maybe 2 cents? Needless to say, when I left the chair to walk to the drying station, the toe separator came completely off ruining the polish on both feet requiring the man to completely redo four of my toenails while I was sitting at the drying station. Now I feel as if I can't leave the building until they are completely dry or it will happen again. And the redo of the nails looks bad - but I'm not going to complain today as I don't want to go through it again - I just won't come back. I went to get some medium long acrylics as a Christmas gift from my brother. They up charged and up charged until the total was $65. Fine. A bit much but I enjoy beautiful nails. The girl who did my nails took an hour and half (making me late to a different appointment) and so I tipped her $10 just to get out of there. While they didn't look awful from a distance, the shoddy workmanship was appalling up close. They were thick, lumpy, discolored in places, the nail not properly trimmed or filed so it looked ratty. So I came back and wanted a refund. She got a HUGE attitude, and began rudely spouting off to me. She blamed it on my nail being crooked which is absolutely laughable. Then she said it's because they were sort of long and they aren't able to control if they are straight or not when they are long, which is an absolute lie. She tried to intimidate me, and when that mailed the manager called the owner who told them to refund me but to sit me down and shave off the acrylics which was fine because they were awful to begin with. The girl who did them kept coming to the station I was having them removed at and saying nasty comments about me. Whatever. When they gave me my refund, they only gave me $65. I said I wanted the tip back since she did nothing to earn it and was just generally a terrible person. She crossed her arms and turned around and basically refused, acting like an absolute child and the manager said she was not going to give it to me and to just cut my loss. I will consider it a small price to pay to know NEVER to give them my business again. Absolutely repulsive job and immature, cry baby worker. read more
