Worst Mani-Pedi I have ever had in my entire life. Worst service as well. This is my first review I have ever written anywhere.....that is how upset and disgusted I am. It all starts out with the massage chair not working and I ask to change chairs. I had to ask at least 10 times with the man at the front desk, Tony, he is insisting that all the chairs are working the same. They are not, because a month ago I sat in a chair that worked perfectly. He finally moved me and the chair did work as it should. I was grateful and thanked him. I have only been to this place when I am in town and in the past it has been passable. I just don't know where else to go. I had signed up for the fancy paraffin wax and hot stone pedicure. She began lightly (weakly) scrubbing my feet and I must have had a small cut on my left toe and it was stinging, I was trying to dip it into the water to wash off whatever was on it making it sting. She grabbed my foot and began rubbing the salt-sugar scrub onto it and her colleague had to tell her to stop. I hope it don't get an infection. I had to insisted that she scrub my heels some more and her colleague next to her starts translating and telling me they can not do more. Huh???? I am asking for more of the tiny pumice sponge she is using, nothing more. My lady is mumbling and grumbling to herself about having to use a tiny bit more effort. Still horrible-we move on. Then it comes to the massage which was like a wet noodle and just a time filler, zero effort and a big waste. I'm getting upset and time it. Between the lotions, wax and stone massage.....less than 4 minutes per leg. Zero massage on the feet after the wax is removed. The hot stone was next and she kept rubbing the rock over my ankles and it hurt and I know I will have bruises on my ankles tonight! I asked her not to rub over my ankles and pointed and said "no" because I know there is a language barrier. It was so pathetic of an effort. Moving on..... Then she proceeded to put the rubber things between my toes without working on my cuticles. She says she did--a 2 year old could do better. I insist that she trim properly and she is fuming and mumbling. Polish on and is all over the place. No effort to try to remove from the surrounding skin. Nails--I have had it at this point but still need them to be done. I fly out tomorrow. Quick cut and very minimal cuticle work. I don't dare have her polish so I ask for them to be buffed. Then she proceeds to move on to the lady next to me. I have to call for the front desk guy, Tony, who seems to be in charge. I tell him she needs to use a file and file my nails. She says to him she did, he tells me she did. I hold out my hands for him to see and he will not look but keeps arguing that she did. I'm fuming at this point. Backup for one second......the lady to my left was there for a polish change only and was getting upset about her issues she is having with them and she try's to talk to Tony who will not let her speak and is arguing with her. So, this is not just me at this time. My lady huffs and puffs to sit down and attempts to make an effort to use a file and do her job. She is grumbling out loud again.....I am done with this nasty attitude and I get up to pay and leave. Then Tony try's to chime in a bit too late. I tell him I was here a few weeks ago and it was passable but this time was the worst experience I have ever had. He says she has been here a long time and knows what she is doing. I suggest she may need updated training and feedback on her making an effort and being thorough. He starts to a argue with me that I was not there before and asks me to prove it. I tell him that I can pull up my credit card statement and show him the exact date. Then I decide that I don't have to prove anything to him. I pay $68.00, leave zero tip and write this review. Apparently, from other reviews all of their good employees have left. In the past years of going there I have never been offered a drink, which seems that is only reserved for regulars. Boo-hoo for me! Just a joke. The quality and respect are so low, I am not sure how much lower it can go. Photos show their standards. In all fairness, my hands were in rough shape from doing yard work without gloves the week before--they feel and look awful. I always leave other mani-pedi places feeling pretty good after. I am newer to Denton so this is the second nail salon I have tried; the first was Bella Nail Salon. My first experience at Nail Envy was more than good and my pedicure/nexgen manicure lasted all month; four weeks max with no issues and no chipping. This mani/pedi went the distance especially for the cost... makes it totally worth it in my opinion. Today I walked in with no appointment. They seemed busy... two people waiting to be seated. I checked in and they sat me down at the pedicure station immediately; that was unexpected and awesome. Nancy gave me a vanilla Latte pedicure; the experience was beyond wonderful. She really took her time and everything felt so wonderful! Ann did my Nexgen manicure; she was great! The manicure turned out beautiful and she massaged my hands and arms. This has been my nail salon spot for a few years now. I don't know why it has taken me so long to write a review but after the service I had today, I must write this review. I have always had great service and my nails always look good but today was an exception. My nails look FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC. I went in today looking for something very specific for my nails. I needed to represent my Dallas Cowboys and wanted my nails to reflect that. I knew there would probably be an ombré version of blue and silver that I was looking for. They did not have exactly what I was looking for on their sample tree. But, after I explained what I was looking for Jenny custom created the look I was after. Now, let me tell you about Jenny! She is so meticulous about her work. She is so precise with how she clips your nails, shapes them, files them and paints them. She takes her time as if they were her nails. She does excellent work. I have a condition that makes cutting my own nails very difficult, especially once they get long. I unfortunately got busy and before I knew it my nails needed to be trimmed by over an inch so I searched for a convenient place after running all my errands. This is located in the Kroger shopping center on Teasley and Hickory Creek and plenty of parking was available. Upon entering, I liked the décor with the cute waterfalls and the marble. They had four huge TVs that could be seen from every station, so it's a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, service was underwhelming. The initial woman at reception was friendly but confused. I always get the trim first when trying a new place and if I like them, I come back for a pedicure. Since most places charge between $5 and $12 for a trim, I usually get a chilly reception because they assume I won't tip. Normally, once I mention my condition as the reason for this particular visit, the person working on me will warm up and get chatty and then when they see they still get tipped well despite the cheap service, they are very welcoming. How they handle it decides if I want to come back for other services. This visit wasn't really like the typical example though. Once the woman at reception found the price, she kindly told me it was $5 and there was no wait. I sat at a station and was met with a very icy woman who didn't introduce herself and literally went out of her way to let me know she wasn't happy to be working on me. She went through it as fast as she could, was kind of rough with me and didn't really shape my nails evenly. I don't believe she was trying to cause me pain, it was just the result of her flying through the cutting and the shaping. When she went on to my second hand, I repeated how I asked her to shape my nails on the first hand and she did go back to them. However, afterwards she basically dismissed me and got out really fast before I could inspect to see that half the nails looked great and half were kind of sad. That's okay, no need to have her come back, I already knew I wouldn't be returning at that point. Many places value money over customer service, this is just another one of those places. The second person at reception was just as nice as the first, but they aren't working on me, so they play a smaller role in the review. Hey don't get me wrong, I'm sure you'll get much better service if you are dropping some major cash on your first visit. I'm glad I was just getting a trim and will be looking for another spot to get my pedicure. The nature of the visit saved me the frustration of paying a lot for sloppy work and a poor attitude. read more

Not recommended for any pedicure beyond basic cosmetic polish if u cant do your own toes. Sadly, I really needed this 'Heavenly Deluxe Pedicure' to be the real thing, but its not... I have had pedicures that transformed my crackle- lined heels into smooth, polished, paraffin waxed renewal that wld actually last 2 weeks... but this is the day 1 result of my $55 pedicure~ rough, dry & not well dipped, and already looking like I didnt even pay to have this done. Its a go-thru-the-motions routine here with wax that doesn't really coat. there was no buffing.... the massage is so light that its just a time filler. its not worth the money. The products arent deeply truly moisturizing. The people are very nice, and the prices are competitive, but its clear these folks are not very into doing these services or enjoying their work. I do understand its very hard work, but its also hard to hand over $55 for something I cld have done better myself. My manicure turned out much better, but there are just a lot of distractions, noise, conversations going on~ its not a focused, relaxing, therapeutic environment.... too hectic and half way quality for me! read more

My nails looked so horrible after my latest visit that I will not be going back, especially after spending over $100. None of polish on my nails went to the corners or edges of my nails. I'm giving 5 stars. My daughter had her nails done last night and when completed she realized the color was wrong. Sometimes you can't tell until they finish. Well she got in her car and called me upset (she's not the type to complain). After talking with me and getting the courage to go back in, she told them the color was wrong. We all know that when you say something someone doesn't want to hear the first reaction is to be defensive. Yes, Envy Nail Spa was defensive and wouldn't budge that it wasn't their fault. So I did have to make a call and talk with them. At the end of the day they took care of her and did what's right. Jackie took really good care of my daughter. I wish I had asked the name of the lady who did my nails because she did a PHENOMENAL job. I originally asked for gel, but then realized I wanted nail extensions. I showed the lady a picture of a french manicure with pale blue tips and without skipping a beat she said we can do that with Nexgen and she happily went about changing out supplies while I picked my color. Let me just say that this lady was phenomenally patient and meticulous in her work - she created a perfectly even line where the pink "nail bed" and blue tips meet. She took care at the end to make sure each nail was even and filed in just the right way. Additionally, she did a great job cleaning up my eyebrows. I went here before my birthday dinner. When I walked in, the hostess looked at me witj disdain. She pointed to the sign in charts and walked away. This was my first time at Envy, so I wasn't sure exactly what was going on, but I filled out the form. She was extremely unfriendly to the point that I felt really unwelcomed. I got my manicure first. I noticed that the other clients were being offered drinks. I kept waiting for the hostess or anyone to offer me something to drink. The manicurist messed up one of my nails because she seemed to be in a huge hurry. Finally, the manicurist points me to a different employee for my pedicure. I thought this was odd because everyone else seemed to have the same employee complete both the manicure and pedicure. I was so thirsty that I asked the pedicurist for some water. She gave me a bottle of water, which I profusely thanked her for. I asked her about the drinks being offered to other people. She said the drinks were free and asked me if I wanted some wine, which I thought was very nice of her. The pedicure could have been better, but the manicure was okay. What really bothered me was the hostess' attitude. She looked at me like I was dirt, even when I paid my bill and left tips. I decided to not let my first impression get the best of me, so I decided to go again for a manicure. Once again, the hostess looked at me like I was trash, and left her station when I arrived. I kept telling myself that it was going to be different this time. I was waiting for 10 minutes for a manicure space to open up. Then a womam and her daughter came in for a pedicure. Immediately, the hostess quickly walked over to them smiling and asked them if they wanted something to drink. She asked them how they were doing and attempted to make small talk. I kept waiting for her to see that I was waiting thinking that she would offer me something to drink as well. Nope! She didn't even acknowledge my existence. By this time, a pedicurist called my name and directed me toward the foot spa section. I realized that I had made a mistake in my form. I apologized to the pedicurist, and let her know that I had made a mistake. The hostess came by, said something to the pedicurist and I was rudely instructed to sit and wait some more. I was so embarassed. I asked the hostess for a glass of wine, but she just walked away. I decided that I wasn't about to spend money at a place with such an awful hostess. I have been looking for a place to get a weekly manicure and a biweekly pedicure, and I was hoping that Envy Nail Spa would be the place. But as long as that hostess is there, I will never go back to this place, and I will let my friends know about the hostess. read more

Her nails were an absolute mess! Painted very sloppy. I asked the hostess (lady with the short hair and stern look) if they could be redone. She seemed immediately put out and said my daughter will have to wait a while. Long story short - we waited. I finally got up to pay and said I wasn't paying for the kids manicure. This is my favorite nail salon! It's really clean and always a relaxing environment! The staff is extremely friendly and always provides you with complementary drinks (even wine)! They provide various services including waxing! Most manicures and pedicures include a massage as well! If you are getting a pedicure and manicure (or fill) they perform them simultaneously so it really saves a lot of time! Wine and water are also available while you wait. Very disappointing visit today. I have been using Envy Nail Spa since it opened many years ago. I visit the salon at least twice per month. My last visit was June 6. My husband and I went in for pedicures as I had made appointments with Cindy and Tammy. My husband received the classic pedicure ($26) and I purchased the elegant pedicure ($35) and a manicure. While my toenails were finishing up drying my husband went to pay. When we got home my husband gave me the receipt and I noticed they charged us $35 each for the elegant pedicure. I didn't make a big deal about it because I am a frequent client and thought this wouldn't be a problem resolving. When I went in today for a pedicure I had my receipt in-hand and just explained to the gentleman what happened. Nothing more was said. When I went to pay he told me he could not honor my word or receipt because it had been too long. Furthermore he told me I should have notified them that day, I told him to ask the technician because she is the only one who does pedicures for my husband and he refused to do that. I paid and left, but felt this entire situation could have been avoided by them attempting to fix the situation. But, I did learn a valuable lesson. From now on I will always return and fix any situation like this immediately no matter how inconvenient it may be. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be returning to Envy Nail Spa even though they do a great job. read more

Loved Nail Envy. Called yesterday for an apt at 645pm. We got seated for our pedicures immediately. I also heard a girl come in after me ask if she could still get a pedicrure (closes at 7) and they took her. They have a decent color selection. I've seen better I've seen worse. The host was very nice (maybe Jonathan was his name) offered us wine and checked on us through out the mani/pedi. Brandon(I think) gave me the pedicure, and was amazing! His foot/leg massage was better than any place I've ever gone, including Foot Spa in Denton. My toes look great! Tyler (I'm sorry I'm terrible with names, I should have wrote them down) did my nails, also a great massage! Anyway my nails look great! They took their time and everyone was very friendly. I got one step up from the standard Pedicure, and just a standard manicure. I thought the price was reasonable - $50. I went on a Wednesday night and they were still very busy! It pains me to leave this review. I've been an extremely satisfied customer of Envy Nail Salon for 8+ years. Tammy did my pedicures that entire time, watched my girls grow up, saw me pregnant with my son and beyond. They have done my gel, then acrylic and now Nexgen for 3+ years. I've had my eyebrows done here for 8+years too. Today, I had my first Brazilian here. She didn't wear gloves, which is not a law, but I thought odd. Unlike with eyebrows, my eyes were open, so I saw what was going on. At first I wasn't paying attention, as I was trying to calm my nerves over what I was doing! Once the pain became bearable, I turned my head to the right side to see what she was doing, especially since I expected 5-10 rips and to be done and I'm way more into it and she's still on the upper area. I see her using the same wooden stick to dip every time, never once changing it. I'm thinking at first, okay no way she's really using the same one, she must be doing something I'm not seeing. One was siting with the bottom touching g the outside and tip covered in wax. I'm watching ruining it's the "clean stick" she's dipping it and letting it drop in the "dirty" stick. Wrong, she's rubbing the stick on my vagina, then the paper/cloth strip to yank and putting the same stick back in the wax! At the end, she changed the little white paper on the outside of the pot; but that was it. I'm now panicking that I could have contracted some nasty skin disease/infection due to these unhygienic practices. read more

Clean environment and soothing music and the texts are good but the girl at the front desk is the rudest person I have ever met or seen as the "face"of a business in my entire life. I asked her a question about what type of massage is given for a certain manicure that I wanted; if a neck and arm massage was included and she snapped at me, answer the question and looked down her nose at me as if I asked a dumbest question on the face of the planet. Not two seconds after I asked her the question, one of her friends with a little girl came in the front door and she picked up the little girl and acted cheerful and very jovial. Hum... So it's just the customers that piss her off...how dare us?!? I couldn't help but notice other remarks regarding this young lady at the front desk and I'm certain it's the same one. And the spa might need to give her some coaching because they could be losing some business just because of this one girl. read more
